“I got the Box A sushi box! I got a Philadelphia roll, dragon roll, and seaweed salad. Paid a little extra to sub a soda for their Daily Matcha. Total was around $25. I am honestly so surprised at how good the sushi is! I've definitely paid much more for this quality, really amazing value for all the food you get. Fish is generous and has a very fresh taste to it! Matcha is very good, balances sweet and bitter perfectly, overall smooth and refreshing. Inside there is some seating and tables, this makes a great study location for National City. Staff was super sweet/polite and accommodating! I would say, as long as prices don't increase too much this is a fantastic place to get solid quality sushi.“

“It’s a very convenient location for food along the end of the piers here for the service members. Food is good, nothing too noteworthy although the fries are wonderfully crispy and would be my favorite meal along with the chicken tenders. Service is good, some workers are just there and others are pretty motivated, the older ones specifically. I do understand having to deal with Navy Sailors as many don’t have manners or consideration for others. The location drawbacks are the small size of the establishment resulting in a small crew increasing the lines and wait times during the busy lunch hours. Outside of those hours it’s a great quiet location to eat, hang out, there’s even a little arcade and an ITT for outdoor recreation and theme park information. There is outside seating for those who like to enjoy a cup of Starbucks coffee and a cool morning vibe.“

“My mom has been taking me and my siblings to this place since I was like a toddler I think and even before I was born probably. I’m now 20 and I still enjoy coming here. It’s one of my favorite spots and depending on who you bring. They might also like it. I have so many good memories at this place and even if it was just ordering takeout this place has been a big part of my family just for dinner, parties, or just because we’re hungry I definitely recommend this place even though it’s under new ownership. It still reminds me of the place that I used to go to when I was younger and I love that. This place will always be close to my heart and to my family“

“We have gone to Divo Diva many times since I discovered this place in October the best place ever. The food is great. The coffee is amazing. The dinner OperA shows are outstanding. Never had a bad experience. I wish I knew about this place sooner I have told my friends about this place and they love it as well. We all look forward to the dinner shows. It is just a lovely Rosario and Victoria are genuine and super friendly. We love this place. The atmosphere is fresh and quaint. It is nicely decorated for whatever season or holiday. I love the Roman Holiday poster of Audrey Hepburn on a Vespa. Coming to this place is like an escape and a treat. Oh, speaking of treats, their gelato is the best. Feels like I’m in Italy.“

“We had awesome service by Dern! He was polite, friendly and outgoing. (Killer now tie too!) He made our experience so fun! I even witnessed his care for his customers as I watched him ensure an elderly man did not fall walking to the bathroom. Also, he seemed to interact positively with his teammates too. Thanks Dern! The facility and restrooms were clean. It was like stepping back in time. There are a lot of nostalgic things to take in. My husband and I split a classic hamburger, crinkle fries and a strawberry malt. All of it was delicious. My husband said, “if we lived here, I’d be a regular.”“

“This was our third time coming to Lemon Grove Cafe and will definitely be back for the fourth and etc. Portions are huge! Got a table within minutes. Received drinks right away, then our food order came out and it was delicious. I ordered carne asada green chilaquiles and my husband ordered the carne asada plate with a side of pancakes. Our waitress Alison was friendly and very attentive. The other servers Miriam and Max were also friendly and offering drink refills. 100% recommend this yummy and family friendly cafe!“

“This is in the SDSU area but there were plenty of locals. I happened to be in the area. The staff is amazing, so friendly and fast. The food is pretty good, but nothing extraordinary. I enjoyed it very much but I wouldn't go out of my way to drive out there again like I do for other places. The place is clean and pretty cute. It's a little pricey but overall I enjoyed it. “My favorite local coffee shop. The guy with the glasses in the back is always doing his laboratory experimentation wizardry to roast the perfect bean. They cycle different roasts every few days and there’s always a specialty roast available. I always look forward to going in there and seeing what roast is available. Today’s was a Costa Rican and it was delicious. The workers at this coffee shop are all kind. My espresso machine has been down this summer so I’ve been going in frequently, they all learned my name and my order. It’s always a treat to go in there.“

“This review is about the gelato.

I had heard they serve gelato here, but haven’t heard much about it, so I was on a mission to discover for myself. I was pleasantly surprised by the many flavor options they had. Plus that they allow more than the posted 2 samples per person as long as it’s not busy.

My favorite flavor was pistachio. It was thick and creamy, and not salted like how some other creameries are salting their pistachio. It tasted like pistachio and not like almond / amaretto.

The black sesame flavor was okay. The taro flavor was very fleeting. My husband liked the cookies and cream and pistachio.

Service is friendly and the a/c is strong (great for summer!). Tables and chairs are a bit run down.

Parking can be a little tight and hard to find in the parking lot.“

We always make a point to go when we are in San Diego for over 16 years now.
Sadly something happened to the cinnamon rolls. My husband always gets the cinnamon roll French toast and if we don't order rolls for the table, and make a point to take some home. They were always incredibly good, delicious and fresh but I don't know if the recipe changed, but they were not that good.
Hopefully next time we visit, they will be.“

“I'm so glad that The Funky Frenchie opened in Lemon Grove!! I've eaten here 2 times now and will keep coming back! The first time I had the breakfast bowl which was delicious and very filling. The 2nd time I got the Chicken and Woofles and they were willing to substitute eggs instead of the chicken since I'm a vegetarian with no hassle. DELICIOUS!!! The woofles are perfectly done with crisp edges and a soft fluffy inside. Absolutely will be back for this dish again!! And I must give a shout-out to the owner, Brandon! He's awesome!! 😀“

Unfortunately their breakfast sandwich is a huge disappointment. Middle was still cold, I asked them to heat it some more and they did until the croissant was basically burnt and the middle still was not fully heated. They desperately need to change the design or cooking method of their sandwich“

“I was staying on Hotel Circle and just wanted a coffee and latte in the morning without a huge parking hassle or line. Hot Blend was perfect! Conveniently located at the Metro terminal next to Fashion Valley, lots of parking, super nice server, good prices and delicious coffee. What is not to love. My frozen caramel latte was blended to perfection and my Mom said her hot mocha was just right. Located right across from the River Walk if you care to stroll with your coffee.“
