“I got the Box A sushi box! I got a Philadelphia roll, dragon roll, and seaweed salad. Paid a little extra to sub a soda for their Daily Matcha. Total was around $25. I am honestly so surprised at how good the sushi is! I've definitely paid much more for this quality, really amazing value for all the food you get. Fish is generous and has a very fresh taste to it! Matcha is very good, balances sweet and bitter perfectly, overall smooth and refreshing. Inside there is some seating and tables, this makes a great study location for National City. Staff was super sweet/polite and accommodating! I would say, as long as prices don't increase too much this is a fantastic place to get solid quality sushi.“

The Oriental Cafe offers generous portions for generous prices and unless you've fasted the whole day you will be bringing home Leftovers.
The staff is friendly and efficient as they tend to the constant flow of customers that filled the humble establishment.
Some may take mark down this Cafe for its simplistic decor; but others, like myself, find it charming. And after trying their dishes, it only adds delight to find a nice whole in the wall that let's their dishes speak for themselves.
I recommend dining in because you will get a serving of their egg drop soup and it is absolutely worth trying. It's hearty flavor reminds you of the soup you wish you had on a cold day or when you're feeling under the weather.
This is an establishment that deserves its business and I am already planning on coming back and bringing more family to experience it themselves.“

“We had awesome service by Dern! He was polite, friendly and outgoing. (Killer now tie too!) He made our experience so fun! I even witnessed his care for his customers as I watched him ensure an elderly man did not fall walking to the bathroom. Also, he seemed to interact positively with his teammates too. Thanks Dern! The facility and restrooms were clean. It was like stepping back in time. There are a lot of nostalgic things to take in. “This is in the SDSU area but there were plenty of locals. I happened to be in the area. The staff is amazing, so friendly and fast. The food is pretty good, but nothing extraordinary. I enjoyed it very much but I wouldn't go out of my way to drive out there again like I do for other places. The place is clean and pretty cute. It's a little pricey but overall I enjoyed it. “My favorite local coffee shop. The guy with the glasses in the back is always doing his laboratory experimentation wizardry to roast the perfect bean. They cycle different roasts every few days and there’s always a specialty roast available. I always look forward to going in there and seeing what roast is available. Today’s was a Costa Rican and it was delicious. The workers at this coffee shop are all kind. My espresso machine has been down this summer so I’ve been going in frequently, they all learned my name and my order. It’s always a treat to go in there.“

The lounge area has the cutest, most relaxing atmosphere that makes it a perfect spot to get some writing done or catch up with a friend over brunch. The service is consistently top-notch and attentive. I highly recommend trying the flavorful chilaquiles or the avocado toast paired with a dirty chai latte. It's an unassuming gem from the outside, but absolutely worth a visit!“

“Hands down my favorite place for chilaquiles verdes! The tortillas are perfectly crispy, and the green salsa is full of flavor. The only downside was the service, which seemed a little slow due to limited staff. There appeared to be only two servers, so it took some time to place our order and get our food. Fortunately, the food was worth the wait, and we still had a great experience.“

We ordered the potatoes and bacon as well. I wouldn't order the potatoes again as they were too thick and not flavorful enough. For the bacon, there was interesting flavors like cinnamon toast crunch. I enjoyed my cold pressed watermelon juice. The restaurant itself is quite beautiful. Overall, I would go back if I were to stay at the Pendry hotel, but would not go out of my way to have breakfast here.“

“I'm so glad that The Funky Frenchie opened in Lemon Grove!! I've eaten here 2 times now and will keep coming back! The first time I had the breakfast bowl which was delicious and very filling. The 2nd time I got the Chicken and Woofles and they were willing to substitute eggs instead of the chicken since I'm a vegetarian with no hassle. DELICIOUS!!! The woofles are perfectly done with crisp edges and a soft fluffy inside. Absolutely will be back for this dish again!! And I must give a shout-out to the owner, Brandon! He's awesome!! 😀“

Unfortunately their breakfast sandwich is a huge disappointment. Middle was still cold, I asked them to heat it some more and they did until the croissant was basically burnt and the middle still was not fully heated. They desperately need to change the design or cooking method of their sandwich“
