“We had awesome service by Dern! He was polite, friendly and outgoing. (Killer now tie too!) He made our experience so fun! I even witnessed his care for his customers as I watched him ensure an elderly man did not fall walking to the bathroom. Also, he seemed to interact positively with his teammates too. Thanks Dern! The facility and restrooms were clean. It was like stepping back in time. There are a lot of nostalgic things to take in. My husband and I split a classic hamburger, crinkle fries and a strawberry malt. All of it was delicious. My husband said, “if we lived here, I’d be a regular.””

“A great little French “bistro”. The menu is varied enough for most. I had the curry chicken salad which was perfectly flavored. Portion size was generous. My husband had a bacon panino with a suave of fresh fruit. The fruit was really fresh and ripe. We couldn’t resist dessert - they have a large display of very delectable desserts. The coffee was perfect - strong without any bitterness. Waiter was attentive without being intrusive and offered me coffee to go. I highly recommend this little gem. While we didn’t drink, the table next to us ordered several bottles of wine.”

“A "can't - miss" with incredible flavors, as always, and excellent service from Tom with helpful suggestions and attentiveness without being intrusive. Tom's the consumate server. We enjoyed the quacamole, and entrees including Papas Dulce and Tuscon chimichanga with braised short rib. Both outstanding, and highly recommend "pairing" these two and splitting with your someone special. Second visit after 1 and 1/2 years and quality remains extremely high.”

We ordered two EPIC hot lobster rolls (Connecticut style, warm with butter) and although they were delicious, for the EPIC PRICE OF $39 PER ROLL, it was very skimpy compared to what you get for that price in New England. They stack it high in the middle and don’t fill the bun to the ends to make it look super full. It’s not. The New England clam chowder was great though.”

Quality’s decent, not amazing. It can feel a bit slow during busy hours. Overall, a solid pick when you’re craving something quick and made your way.”

“I had dinner here on a Sunday night. The atmosphere was great outside. It was a little chilly, but they have outdoor heaters. I would still recommend bringing a jacket with the breeze. I ordered the Greek salad, red wine, and the bolognese. My only complaint would be how long the entree took to come out. I was already there for about an hour before my entree came. It was amazing and I forgot about how long it took. Overall pleased. Be ready to spend a fair amount of money especially if you want appetizers and drinks.”

“first time coming to this restaurant and the atmosphere was great and the service was amazing too. we sat out front and the umbrellas provided enough shade for morning time sun. they played awesome chill jazz and r&b music i loved the vibe the whole time we ate. i ordered the napolitano joe’s and it was very good the veggies were cooked perfectly and the chicken sausage, i think it was, was really good! sourdough bread was REALLY good too.”

“We came for happy hour. Greeted right away by a very nice lady. She escorted us to find the best seat. Shared the calamari which was really good. Not too chewy. The old fashioneds were really good too. They were generous with the bourbon even with it being happy hour. Beautiful rooftop view of downtown coronado, hotel del and ocean.”

“We all deserve a second chance and II Fornaio is not exempt. I was told to try this place for a nice meal. My family visited this establishment a few weeks back. Unfortunately, we had one of the worst experiences ever. Lack of attentiveness, service, taste, & dining experience. We left waiting to speak to a manager that never came as he was taking care of another matter and I didn't want to wait any longer. I got home and my wife insisted that I call to report our experience and give the manager a chance to do something about it. I spoke with Assistant General Manager Antonio Ramirez who apologized and said he would investigate and call me the following morning. Needless to say he didn't return the call for a week later. I honestly thought he forgot. Mr Ramirez called and once again apologize and offered to pay for our meal on the next visit. He was genuinely concerned about the companies reputation and making up for a poor experience. I returned the following week with a complete different situation. Mr Ramirez introduced himself, followed the hostess to our seat, took the unused glasses and offered to get our drinks. The busser, he could easily pass for Santa Claus, was johnny on the spot with water, tea and refills. Our waitress, Susan was what all should aspire to as far as a quality food server. Susan was suggestive of everything, we chose two of her recommendations and were not unhappy. Between Mr. Ramirez, Susan and Santa Claus (sorry never got the busser's name), my wife and I had the best dining experience that turned our hearts to highly recommend II Fornaio as the place to frequent for that wonderful dining experience. We will definitely return to dine after this time. Thank you for changing our hearts to believe in you. It's time to make Assistant General Manager Antonio Ramirez General Manager with his attitude, demeaner, and loyalty to the company and the return of a good customer experience. Thank you, Thank you and Thank you.”

We were there over a holiday weekend (and during World Cup games) - so it seemed like they were short-staffed, but that might be different on 'normal' weekends.”

“Cold Stone Creamery Located in the charming Ferry Landing shops, Cold Stone Creamery in Coronado offers a sweet escape with a wide variety of ice cream creations, cakes, shakes, and smoothies.

We ordered the Cotton Candy and Peanut Butter flavors, both were delicious and definitely hit the spot! Each was $8.95, totaling about $17.90 for two small scoops, which felt a bit pricey for the portion size in my opinion .

There are some chairs and umbrellas just outside the shop, so you can sit and enjoy your treat while taking in the view.

There was a long line when we visited, and we waited around 15 minutes to order. Staff was friendly!”

“The location is in a shopping center. There's no drive thru or bathrooms inside. It faces the street you have to park on the street and walk. The food was quickly served and hot/fresh. This place is on the side of the island that faces downtown San Diego. I drove from the beach so completely on the other side. It's less than 10 mins from the beach side.”

“I recently visited Babcock & Story Bar at the iconic Hotel del Coronado, and it was an absolutely delightful experience from start to finish. The craft cocktails were exceptional. I tried their signature Old Fashioned and a refreshing coastal-inspired margarita, both expertly mixed and perfectly balanced. The bartenders were not only skilled but also personable and attentive, creating a warm and friendly environment.

When it comes to food, Babcock & Story Bar exceeded expectations. The shareable appetizers were fresh and flavorful, and the seafood options in particular were outstanding. The fish tacos were cooked to perfection, and the charcuterie board was a perfect pairing for our drinks.

Overall, Babcock & Story Bar offers a memorable experience with top-notch food, creative cocktails, and excellent service in an unbeatable beachfront setting. I highly recommend it to anyone visiting the Hotel del Coronado or looking for a perfect coastal dining and bar experience.”

“Great view whichever direction you look. Cozy atmosphere but pretty expensive considering where it is located. Nice deck but lounge area with fire pit has a minimum of $175 , so that's great if you have a group. Parking is pretty steep specially if you're only visiting for the day. I recommend taking a rideshare. It could be cheaper depending on how far you are from the hotel.”
