“While searching for a place to have dinner off property during our holiday, we came across Jolie online. The reviews were excellent and the dinner and service didn’t disappoint. Owner Molly was welcoming and Jack, our server was wonderful too. We met chefs on vacation who had come twice in a week to eat there too. Don’t walk, run. But get a reservation, seating is limited.“

“We came for happy hour. Greeted right away by a very nice lady. She escorted us to find the best seat. Shared the calamari which was really good. Not too chewy. “Such a great dining experience in the heart of Balboa Park.

Emiliano was our waiter and absolutely made the experience. We let him help guide us through the menu, and he did not disappoint.

We started with the pear and beet salad and masa-fried squash blossoms, then worked our way through the Vietnamese pork meatballs and lamb seekh, and finished with the Wagyu burger. Every dish brought something completely different to the table, which made sharing everything even more fun.

The food was beautifully presented, full of flavor, and just adventurous enough without trying too hard. Add the atmosphere of being right in the heart of Balboa Park, and it made for such a memorable meal.

Definitely ask for Emiliano and let him help you choose you won't be disappointed.“

“We had a great dining experience at Urban Plates in Long Beach. Mariana explained the menu choices in a very unrushed manner, and we decided on the steak. I ordered the Chimichurri grass-fed steak with balsamic brussel sprouts and herb-roasted potatoes. All of it was delicious ( and healthy too!). The deserts were absolutely killer too. We will definitely eat here again next time we're in Long Beach.“

“I live in Spring Valley, so it’s quite a drive for me, but honestly, the distance is not an issue at all when the food is this good! 😍

I’m a huge fan of Som Tum, and they make it exactly the way I like it so flavorful, fresh, and absolutely delicious! The Thai ramen is also really good and definitely worth trying.

This has easily become one of my favorite places for Thai food. I highly recommend this restaurant! If you haven’t tried it yet, you definitely should. You won’t be disappointed! ❤️🇹🇭“

“Five stars isn’t enough.

Black Radish was nothing short of spectacular. Every dish was beautifully prepared, incredibly flavorful, and thoughtfully executed. The wine selection paired perfectly with the meal, and the service was outstanding from start to finish.

What made the evening even more special was the family behind it all. John, the owner and chef, has created something truly special. His wife is also a chef, and their daughter, Alexandra, was our server. It was a genuine family affair, and you could feel the pride, passion, and hospitality in every part of the experience.

I honestly hesitate to write this review because I’d love to keep this place a hidden gem and still be able to get a reservation, but I can’t let an experience like this go without recognition.

1,000% recommend Black Radish. The food was incredible, the service was impeccable, the wine was exceptional, and the entire evening was simply unforgettable. This is the kind of restaurant that reminds you why dining out can be such a special experience.

“WOW, this place is terrific! The artichokes were the best I've ever had at a restaurant and the saffron chicken with cannellini beans was sensational. What a neighborhood find! The food is not too spendy but alcohol adds up. I hope the place is successful as we hope to come back and try every other enticing thing on the menu. There are too many to mention here. “We have ordered Kebabs before here, we recently ordered a meal kit that was all rice and hardly any meat, I mean it was a joke, its a $30 meal. I messaged them because we have ordered several times before and thought maybe they would try to make it right but they never replied. This was 2 weeks ago. We will never buy food here again! The servings are very small and there are tons of other places to eat or order take out around here if they want to be jerks about it! The food is average really, we order out frequently so as not to have to cook and live in the area. We got about $1 worth of rice and lettuce for a $30 meal plate, what a joke!“
