“We had awesome service by Dern! He was polite, friendly and outgoing. (Killer now tie too!) He made our experience so fun! I even witnessed his care for his customers as I watched him ensure an elderly man did not fall walking to the bathroom. Also, he seemed to interact positively with his teammates too. Thanks Dern! The facility and restrooms were clean. It was like stepping back in time. There are a lot of nostalgic things to take in. My husband and I split a classic hamburger, crinkle fries and a strawberry malt. All of it was delicious. My husband said, “if we lived here, I’d be a regular.”“

“A great little French “bistro”. The menu is varied enough for most. I had the curry chicken salad which was perfectly flavored. Portion size was generous. My husband had a bacon panino with a suave of fresh fruit. The fruit was really fresh and ripe. We couldn’t resist dessert - they have a large display of very delectable desserts. The coffee was perfect - strong without any bitterness. Waiter was attentive without being intrusive and offered me coffee to go. I highly recommend this little gem. While we didn’t drink, the table next to us ordered several bottles of wine.“

We ordered two EPIC hot lobster rolls (Connecticut style, warm with butter) and although they were delicious, for the EPIC PRICE OF $39 PER ROLL, it was very skimpy compared to what you get for that price in New England. They stack it high in the middle and don’t fill the bun to the ends to make it look super full. It’s not. The New England clam chowder was great though.“

“first time coming to this restaurant and the atmosphere was great and the service was amazing too. we sat out front and the umbrellas provided enough shade for morning time sun. they played awesome chill jazz and r&b music i loved the vibe the whole time we ate. i ordered the napolitano joe’s and it was very good the veggies were cooked perfectly and the chicken sausage, i think it was, was really good! sourdough bread was REALLY good too.“

“So, I am updating my review. I still love Spiros, both locations,but this particular location has amazing views. However, the service here is not great, mostly 1 person, but they are always there, always taking the orders, which makes him hard to avoid. I believe his name is Steve. I literally dread placing my order when he's there. He is a very stressful person and therefore makes the ordering experience stressful. I go anyway with my family, this place isn't cheap for a casual place but the food is great. Well, recently I had an interaction with this guy that really upset me and my fam, he was very rude in front of customers and tried to make us feel bad. It was busier than normal because it was holiday time and events were happening. I will be contacting management personally but just beware of this guy when you go. Seriously disappointed.“

“Like most Panda Express restaurants. Food is good and fresh, However, depending on the hour you go, they maybe out of certain items and you may need to wait. Servers try hard but employees can be overwhelmed with rush hour traffic.

“We had such a great experience here, and Luke truly made our night!

We had just come from Nighthawk, where we sat at the bar for about 20 minutes without being acknowledged by any of the three bartenders working. The difference when we arrived here was night and day.

Luke greeted us right away, took the time to walk us through the menu, answered our questions, and actually engaged with us throughout our visit. He was friendly, attentive, knowledgeable, and made us feel genuinely welcomed rather than like we were just another couple sitting at the bar.

As someone who works in hospitality, I really appreciate great service, and Luke is a perfect example of how much a bartender can impact the entire experience. We had such a great time and will absolutely be back. Thank you, Luke, for turning our night around!“

“We were a party of five at your Le Mesa location on 3/22/26 and I believe our server's name was Diana. Our experience was absolutely fantastic! The food was superb, the facility was spotless and every member of the staff that interacted with was professional, helpful and friendly. Diana was fantastic! She has the perfect balance of friendly efficiency, light humor to match our personalities and spot on timing to check in with us. We can't wait to visit again! Thank you.“

“We all deserve a second chance and II Fornaio is not exempt. I was told to try this place for a nice meal. My family visited this establishment a few weeks back. Unfortunately, we had one of the worst experiences ever. Lack of attentiveness, service, taste, & dining experience. We left waiting to speak to a manager that never came as he was taking care of another matter and I didn't want to wait any longer. I got home and my wife insisted that I call to report our experience and give the manager a chance to do something about it. I spoke with Assistant General Manager Antonio Ramirez who apologized and said he would investigate and call me the following morning. Needless to say he didn't return the call for a week later. I honestly thought he forgot. Mr Ramirez called and once again apologize and offered to pay for our meal on the next visit. He was genuinely concerned about the companies reputation and making up for a poor experience. I returned the following week with a complete different situation. Mr Ramirez introduced himself, followed the hostess to our seat, took the unused glasses and offered to get our drinks. The busser, he could easily pass for Santa Claus, was johnny on the spot with water, tea and refills. Our waitress, Susan was what all should aspire to as far as a quality food server. Susan was suggestive of everything, we chose two of her recommendations and were not unhappy. Between Mr. Ramirez, Susan and Santa Claus (sorry never got the busser's name), my wife and I had the best dining experience that turned our hearts to highly recommend II Fornaio as the place to frequent for that wonderful dining experience. We will definitely return to dine after this time. Thank you for changing our hearts to believe in you. It's time to make Assistant General Manager Antonio Ramirez General Manager with his attitude, demeaner, and loyalty to the company and the return of a good customer experience.
