“My wife and I eat at Ciccia’s regularly but this is our first review after 4 years. Sorry Francesca and Mario! (In my defense I practically never ever write a review.) We keep coming back for the food, ambiance and hospitality. **We’ve gone 3 times in the last week! The crab gnocchi is my wife’s favorite. I get something different almost every time. Every visit I ask Mario about the specials as I like to sample the beef and/or fish (Branzino!) they prepare in addition to pasta. Try the Tomahawk steak if it’s a special that day (call ahead) and you will be amazed. Too many times we fill up on appetizers like mushroom flan, breaded zucchini, calamari, antipasto, and the choices go on! But that’s what to-go containers are for. So much good food to eat at Ciccias we tend to order too many things. It is simply fun to dine there. Once you’re inside the restaurant area (patio area or indoor area) the ambiance is quaint and cozy. Ciccia’s is not big and it’s always filled, but we never feel like it’s too crowded. The energy is always fun and upbeat. Which makes people stay awhile, so let me recommend getting reservations. We’ve had to wait 10-15 minutes but nothing’s perfect! If you want a breezy quick dinner before going off to an event you may want to go to Ciccia’s on another night. Hospitality is what you would expect of a small Italian restaurant run by the owners. Terrific!! If it’s your first time, read their story on the website before you go. They are bona fide top chefs who followed their dreams to open their own place. What a gem it is tucked inside Barrio Logan. One thing regulars may notice is that staff doesn’t appear to turn over much as I’ve seen the same faces working there for years. I think that reflects well on the restaurant. I don’t take pictures of food very often but last night I did. We stopped by at around 9 just to get dessert and a cocktail. My wife had the ricotta cake with apricot and habanero sauce (wow!) and I had cassata siciliana which is traditional cake from Sicily. Pretty to look at and yes, it’s delicious. They do a good job with making an Old Fashioned, which always pairs well with dessert 😜 Buon appetito!“

“Came here with a buddy to celebrate his promotion. Got the executive meat plate since we'd never tried the steaks here before. The best for me was the dry aged filet mignon followed by the dry aged ribeye. Lamb lollipops were great snack while we waited for the main course. Drinks were a little bit pricey, but the old fashioned had a proper fat wash and the flavor was superb. Overall it was a fun spot for a special occasion and certainly one of the premium steak houses in San Diego to get dry aged cuts.“

“Our group of 4 went for lunch. We had the papaya salad , the sizzling eggplant, the loa BBQ ribs, and the beef panang curry. All were flavorful with many subtle spices. The service was attentive, the prices were reasonable . I was probably the best Thai restaurant I have visited . I definite recommend and will return!“

“If you are looking for a true Italian experience in San Diego, look no further than Vinarius! We worked with Giuseppe (owner) to host our wedding celebration here back in March, 2023. From the beginning, he was amazing to work with. Incredibly positive and accommodating from the start, we couldn’t have asked for more. The wedding ceremony was planned to be outside and of course, it rained that day. Guiseppe and his staff went above and beyond to accommodate us, allowed us to have the small ceremony inside the restaurant on short notice and made an incredible meal to follow. Our guests were blown away and we couldn’t have been happier. We recommend Vinarius to everyone we know and that is thanks to Giuseppe and his awesome staff. Grazie mille!“

“I am delighted with my experience at this Italian restaurant! From the moment I walked in, I was transported to Italy with a warm ambiance and friendly staff. The food was extraordinary; each dish burst with authentic flavors that joyfully made my taste buds sing. The attention to detail in every plate was evident, showcasing the chef's expertise and dedication to traditional Italian cuisine. The pasta was cooked to perfection, sauces were rich and flavorful, and the ingredients were fresh and high-quality. Not only was the food exceptional, but the service was impeccable. The staff was attentive and knowledgeable and made the entire dining experience even more delightful. I wholeheartedly recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for an unforgettable Italian dining experience in San Diego. In my opinion, this establishment undoubtedly deserves the title of the best Italian restaurant in town.“
“Vietnamese coffee is very good. I love egg coffee at this place.
Parking: It takes 5-10 minutes to find free street parking. Otherwise paid parking garage just a walking distance to coffee shop and only $6/day.
There's a restaurant name Shank & Bone Vietnamese Restaurant on University Avenue it's a Vietnamese Pho restaurant just block away from Saigon Coffee.
Kid-friendliness: Yes kids like to take a walk around the area. Environment looks like a downtown“

“This place was really amazing. The weight staff was all great. They helped me out with a small issue. I had with my diabetes by providing me with some orange juice because my blood sugar had gotten low. I truly appreciate him doing that for me. Thank you so much and I will come back again next time I’m in San Diego.“

“I tried the carne asada and plantain mole taco. As a meat lover (I’m vegan or vegetarian when I want to be/as often as I can) the meat dubs are very delicious although since I do eat meat I preferred my plantain taco. It was so yummy!! I had it with the mild salsa and the salsa was so good I can’t complain there’s not more salsa options. Two tacos for $8.25. Can’t wait to visit again and try the other options.“

“Fabulous food served in a no-frills, casual atmosphere. The service was excellent and Chef Luciano Cibelli comes out of the kitchen and checks with every table to see how diners are doing. Great place to celebrate a special occasion. We enjoyed the seafood fettucini, chicken parmesian, and the catch of the day, which was sea bass on a bed of roasted vegetables, with beet purée and a delicious beurre blanc. Delish!“

“Fun atmosphere with delicious Peruvian-Chinese fusion food. I got the paella and yucca and really enjoyed them both! The paella in particular was the perfect symphony of umami, crunch (octopus and squid), and heat. Servers were also very friendly and efficient, which I greatly appreciated. My server, Cean, was attentive and helpful in recommending dishes. Definitely will come back again!
Parking: Limited free parking spots on site“

“My daughters and I had brunch here, and the staff was really friendly. The place had a nice atmosphere with great outdoor seating. While it's not a vegan restaurant, they were able to adjust my dish, the Mediterranean Breakfast, to make it vegan. Everything was good, but the salad was way too salty with too much dressing. I should have asked for the dressing on the side. My daughter got the churros. They were okay, but I thought they were too doughy, so I wouldn’t order them again.“

“While staying in San Diego (Point Loma), I walked to this small coffee shop every morning. The coffee satisfies the soul. Or maybe it's the friendly owner. First I had an Americano. I don't usually drink Americano but this one is made with espresso so it's better than most. Next, because it's fall, I had a Pumpkin Latte. Not your Starbucks- better. This morning I had the Arabic, and omg, it was outstanding. If you like dark chocolate and cardamom, give it a try. Good coffee, good music, dog friendly, indoor & outdoor seating, what more could you ask for??
Kid-friendliness: There are books for children“

“Came to TNT on the recommendation of a local and holy f*** balls I was blown away. If I had the disposable income I’d buy a private jet and fly to San Diego to eat here once a week and fly home, my carbon foot print would look like a slice of their pizza and I would okay with it cause my belly and soul would be content. Every pizza I have after this will be a disappointment to me.“

“Nice smoky and spicy flavors; as Marc Murphy says, "seasoned with authority." Very nice staff. The cucumber pickles took me right back to my childhood, to family dinners on the High Plains, prepared by my bachelor farmer great-uncles and an unmarried aunt or two, who had their Southern roots in their memories. Yummmm!“

“Ok, I am from NY and love pizza. I am not a NYC pizza snob though and welcome all iterations of 'za! I have to say that this pizza is probably the best I have ever had of its type. They are "Roman" slices, meaning focaccia crust. Variety of slice options are insane with creative combinations that are not only imaginative, but insanely delicious. Slices are cooked upon ordering for supreme freshness. I especially like the Lussuria - prosciutto, black pepper, mashed potato, mozzarella and olive oil. (I NEVER thought I would like mashed potato on a slice, but it's insanely good.) The help here is amazing as well. Caesar was working the oven and he gave great suggestions and explained the product well. Very inviting and definitely steered me in the right direction. Need gluten free? They got it! Will make a GF slice for you right on the spot. I challenge anyone to have just one slice. I had to go back for 2 more. Enjoy!“

“We love this little spot. As a vegan that used to live in NYC it's hard to find comfort food. B&E hits the spot everytime. My three young daughters love the bagels. My husband and I love all of the sandwiches and always take home items from the deli. Always worth the trek over when we are in the neighborhood!“

“This place is the best! We’re from Colorado and we found this place three years ago when we were visiting. We’ve dreamt about their fish and shrimp tacos ever since, so we make it a point to stop by whenever we’re in San Diego. This last trip was no different. We even went twice this year because they recommended their garlic and butter fish and shrimp tacos and they’re to die for (along with everything else we’ve had). While they do have outdoor seating available, we ate in our car because we had our pup with us. When we went back, they even said they remembered us. Everyone is super friendly and welcoming, the place is clean and the food is tasteful. We just wish they would bring their truck to Denver so we could have them more often!“
