“We've been going to Et Volià! for the past few years. Every time we go we have a good experience. The menu has excellent options; from the appetizers to the mains, cheese selections. One of our favorites is the caviar with blini. It goes well with chilled vodka. The wine list pairs nicely with the food on the menu. The desserts are only fair, though. The pastry on our desserts was dry and over baked on 2 occasions. They have a significant wine cooler visible at the front of the restaurant. Cocktails are equally good and served at a bustling bar. Service can be spotty, but is mostly OK. The ambiance is relaxed with streaming lounge music. It's a world away from the hectic Adams Avenue on the other side of the door. Et Voilà! is consistent, which makes this one of my favorite restaurants in San Diego. Highly recommended.“

“This was the last lunch of my five day vacation in San Diego. I had seen this restaurant on the map and was interested, but hadn’t yet had the chance to go. As soon as I came in, I asked to sit at the bar and was welcomed. However, this place usually has you order at the front before taking your seat. The bartender was super friendly with lots of energy and she knew the menu well. She had great hospitality because even though a few of the parties that arrived after me consisted of people she knew, it did not distract her from serving other guests.I tried the margarita with both the spicy and mezcal option. While it was tasty, it wasn’t very spicy. That’s something I can’t say about the dishes I ate. I asked for advice and was told to order the Baja Fish and the Mesquite Chicken. I was warned the chicken had a bit of a kick.Mesquite Chicken - it was tender and tasty. It was about at a medium level, but did not build to the point that you could not eat it. The best part was the chicharrones created from chicken skin. It added a crunchy texture that perfectly countered the soft corn tortilla.Baja Fish - all of the flavors danced with each other perfectly. While another patron seemed emotionally offended by the chorizo-tomato vinaigrette, I thought it added an excellent touch to the perfectly crisp tempura fish.It is more of a boutique, hip style taco spot, but the food is fast, delicious, and plentiful.Vegetarian options: Mushroom Taco, Cauliflower taco, Chipotle Rice“

“Visited this spot first night in San Diego, my girlfriend and I were seated right away on a Monday night. The ambience gives a modern vibe with chill and slow r&b/classy music. Our server checked in with us multiple times while another server made sure our cups were never empty or close to empty. Customer service A+. When I read the other reviews I expected the food to live up to the hype of the reviews people left, and the food did not disappoint one bit. Authentic Italian food is the perfect way to describe the food. The diavola pizza was spicy, cheese and tomato sauce was cooked perfect, crust and border was light and crisp, salame was tasteful, 10/10. For the calamari and shrimp, they were fried lightly and rated fresh. I would say the marinara different from most places, I don't really know how to describe it but I would prefer other marinaras at other Italian restaurants. For the penne cremosa, I enjoyed the penne pasta itself as it was not too flimsy or soft, instead the penne noodles were a little more rough. The white cream sauce was not over cooked, not too creamy, just right. However, there is a lot of mushroom in the dish so if you are not big on mushroom it will be a bit overwhelming lol. Not pictured which my girlfriend ordered was the tagliatelle with arrabbiata sauce. I'm not a big red sauce guy, but tasting her pasta I would order that myself. It had a little kick of spice in it and the flavor and seasoning in the sauce was just so appetizing. I would 100% come back to this restaurant and I 100% recommend this restaurant to any new comers and visitors like myself. They definitely deserve 5 stars for not only their authentic food but exceptional customer service.“

“First visit to Wormwood and it was an excellent culinary experience. It was a bit loud in the dining room and it is not a cheap dinner date but the service was phenomenal and the food and drinks were, for the most part, delectable. Tonight we ordered a farmers loaf of bread to share which came out steaming hot and accompanied by a delicious butter. We also ordered the French Onion dish that made my eyes roll to the back of my head. Let’s suffice to say I could have just ordered a couple of those French Onion apps and been perfectly content without needing a main dish. Nonetheless, our party ordered the Sea Bass, Chicken and the mushroom pasta dishes as mains. Everyone was happy with their meal and the plating was beautiful as you can see in the pictures. Overall it was a great meal - maybe not a regular date night sort of place but worth it for an occasional splurge.“

This place was once the San Diego Naval Training Center that has now revamped itself to be a marketspace for food, arts, crafts, and culture. Whatever you could possibly want to purchase, you can probably find it here. There are so many amazing stalls and if I didn't pop in after a filling lunch, it would have been amazing to buy some good eats here. “Ciccia Osteria is a gem of authentic Italian cuisine in the heart of Barrio Logan. The chefs, Mario and Francesca, use recipes from Northern Italy and pair them with exquisite wines. They even bake their own panettone, a traditional Christmas cake. The restaurant has a cozy and charming atmosphere, with food made with love. However, parking can be tricky, so I recommend taking an Uber. They accept walk-ins, but make sure to dress warmly in winter, as they only have patio dining. The menu has a variety of dishes to suit every taste, but my personal favorite is the mushroom flan. It is creamy, savory, and simply delicious. I also enjoyed the milanese veal, which was tender and crispy. The smoky old-fashioned cocktail and the roccotta olive oil spread for the fresh bread were also amazing. And of course, I could not resist their lasagne, which was rich and satisfying.Ciccia Osteria is my new go-to place for Italian food in San Diego. I can’t wait to go back and try more of their dishes. If you are looking for a genuine and delightful Italian experience, you should definitely check it out.Ciccia Osteria has earned a Bib Gourmand designation from the Michelin Guide. “The menu isnt extensive but has classic pasta and starter dishes. We started with the classica bruscetta and buschetta prosciutto & fichi, and the classica bruschetta was my favorite. The freshness of the tomatoes and flavor of the pesto was impeccable. We tried the cheese wheel pasta that comes with special pasta of the day (gnocchi with mushrooms and truffle) tossed in a cheese wheel and served in a pan. It was on the heavier, creamier and cheesier side and i would recommend it for those who are looking for a ooey gooey dish of pasta. Our server recommended the stuffed lobster and shrimp tortelli pasta. The sauce is creamy (but not as creamy as the cheese wheel pasta) and is made with tomatoes. The dish is topped with a big ball of burrata. We tried the espresso martini and cosmopolitan. The espresso martini had more of a strong coffee than bold liquor flavor, but the cosmopolitan was a little sweet and boozy. Overall, it was a solid meal and be prepared for a food coma afterwards. The interior is beautiful with wine bottles, paintings and pictures hanging on the wall. Street parking is the way to go. Our server was friendly, and the portions are generous for its price point.“

The same waiters were also making drinks, helping with to go orders, and seating people. In essence, it seemed like they were doing everything besides kitchen duties. It was Saturday in the evening. They need to actively look into hiring additional staff. At least 2 more waiters per shift and a hostess. “Nice to little cafe inside the TD America building. I got the French toast special with both sausage and bacon. And then my friend got the waffle special. Everything was excellent. Eggs were scrambled perfect, sausage was flavorful, bacon was meaty and flavorful, and the French toast and waffles were both very good. We will definitely be back.“

“Still dreaming of that vegan Churro Ice Cream cone… Wonderful and large selection of ice creams, many dairy-free choices, plus super kind staff (though they were working solo- so things were moving slow). The patio made for a nice sunny rest spot to enjoy our treats. Great kid-friendly spot.“

“Rare Society is one of the best restaurants for our Christmas Eve dinner. The rib eye was so tender, even when asked for well done. Mine was a bit too charred on the outside, however. The rolls were delicious, hot, and melted in your mouth. The ceasar salad was the best I had with so much cheese! The service was wonderful and attentive. Worth a visit for that special occasion.“

“Interesting and creative Northern Thai. Cocktails v good and not too sweet: Thai basil gimlet and Pepino cooler. Sum Tom papaya salad quite good, but made with fish sauce rather than crushed dried shrimp. Spice good, slightly over on palm sugar. My partner loved the Tom Ka - it had something intriguing to increase body/unctuousness. Spicy Thai basil beef good taste and texture, but not amazing. Really wanted to try more dishes, including Thai Sausage, Chicken Larb, Spicy pork belly, and Sizzling eggplant - must go back soon! Friendly and helpful service. Sticky coated menus. Very cold inside.“

You can even sit at the bar and watch the chefs bake each pizza in their wood fire oven.Aside from pizza you’ll find authentic pasta dishes, meatballs, fresh large-portioned salads, and some of the best calamari around (non-greasy nor over fried). “Nice fancy place! Surprisingly very fast service, only took a few minutes to get our food. The entire interior has a faint smell of truffles because truffle is an ingredient in some of the dishes, which makes the experience unique. Truffle can be added to ur dishes too. I also completely recommend the polenta“
