“The food was fantastic here! So filling and delicious 🍔 Service was great. Allasha was our server. She helped us get familar with the menu and answered all of our questions. She brought our food out promptly and checked in on us later to see if we needed anything else, and all while helping her fellow servers. She was giving shift lead energy 👏“

“My roommate and I have been coming here for a while, it's easily one of our favorite regular spots. The atmosphere is stylish and gives off great vibes and always feels welcoming. The food is always fresh coming from local California farms. The drink menu is solid with all of the staples and some with added twists. The owners Chris and Jenn are amazing, they and their staff are always kind and provide incredible service. Other points to consider are the burger of the month, a rotating culinary delight often themed and always delicious, and the establishment holds many different events from art shows, drink and paint, trivia and so many others. Honestly, it's always a great place with friendly people. Chris and Jenn are leaders in the community and work to not only provide delicious food, and a great experience but also work hard to make the community better. Would recommend, and do recommend to everyone and anyone. 5/5 stars.“

“It looks like we have a new burger favorite in Southern California after enjoying Hammy's Smash Burgers in L.A.... our friend and client Marcela recommended us to check out Hodad's as they are an icon in San Diego. I chose the Guido (Fieri) burger with all the fixings, my better half chose the Bacon Cheeseburger, ditto, and our guest the cheeseburger without the lettuce and tomatoes. All of them delicious, juicy and well seasoned patties, small enough buns, fresh greens and CRISPY bacon. My Surf Punk brew was a good match for the food. Oh yes, forgot to mention the rings and fries! Both great as I my system does normally not respond well to onion rings... these were all good to go. Location is fantastic, 100 steps from the beach. Parking is a chore but me calling on the parking angels worked out well. Pro Tip? Eat before 11:30am or after 1:30pm. Lastly, ambiance is what you'd expect from a SoCal burger joint - VW bus stuff as a booth, lots of license plates on the walls, noise, music, the works. You.have.to.go.here.and.check.it.out.“

“We had the best waiter, Seth R. He gave me his personal favorite dish-Chilaquiles with over medium egg and carne asada. He nailed it. It was soo good, I didn’t need Cholula on it. I ate my plate so fast, I didn’t have a chance to take a photo.“

“After posting a negative review about the service at this restaurant, they gave me a $50 gift card to go back and try again. Unbelievably, the service was even worse this time around. We were sitting on the patio with our dogs, and the server barely made any appearances. I could see her other tables were getting frustrated, and I believed her when she apologized, saying that she was busy with her inside tables. Clearly management has not adequately staffed this restaurant, and there was never a manager checking on tables on the patio during our prolonged visit. The restaurant was incredibly popular, and I witnessed them turning multiple people away who did not have reservations while we were waiting for our table. Maybe the inside tables get better service? One of the benefits of the restaurant, though, is being able to bring our dogs, so hopefully they will figure out how to staff the patio better in the future.“

“Hodads in Downtown gots the juiciest, biggest burgers ever we ordered the single bacon cheeseburger and that bad boy was so big I asked my husband if I ordered correctly. We got half onion rings and half French fries. I have never had any onion rings as great as Hodads nice chunky onions and not a lot of breading. I ordered a Chardonnay that came in a mason jar that took me back . Hubby ordered the strawberry shake that he is still talking about how good it was. I would like to give a shoutout to Lucas he was super helpful , friendly and is customer service was great.“

“Not bad for a $7 burger. It was VERY saucy. If you don't like sauce being the main thing you taste maybe try to ask for it on the side or get a double. The single does not stand up to the sauce and I like to taste the meat and cheese up front and then the sauce personally. The order process is pretty nuts you order from them online and pay them through Venmo or cash at pickup. Then you message them on Instagram when you arrive. They are basically renting a kitchen and you pick it up there.“
