“Great place for kids, lots of room and toys to play with. I would not recommend for a quiet date night.
Dietary restrictions: There's a couple of low lactose tacos. You have to read the menu closely, it's not explicitly labeled as lactose free or non dairy.
Kid-friendliness: Lots of families with young kids come here. Atmosphere can get a bit rowdy, but it's welcoming for families. Lots of yard games to play with.“

“I tried the carne asada and plantain mole taco. As a meat lover (I’m vegan or vegetarian when I want to be/as often as I can) the meat dubs are very delicious although since I do eat meat I preferred my plantain taco. It was so yummy!! I had it with the mild salsa and the salsa was so good I can’t complain there’s not more salsa options. Two tacos for $8.25. Can’t wait to visit again and try the other options.“

“Got a carne asada burrito which includes Mexican salsa (pico) and guacamole by default. I added cheese, sour cream and rice (extra charge of about $1-2 for each).
The Good: The burritos are huge and they do not skimp on the meat at alllll. My burrito was absolutely full of carne and it tastes like it marinated prior to cooking—very well-seasoned. I ordered pickup online and it was ready within about 5 minutes. Staff was really friendly.
The Meh: The entire burrito itself was very salty. I had to drench it in the green salsa (absolutely delicious, btw) to mask some of the saltiness. The guac tasted like it was made with old, overripe, browning avocados... There was nothing fresh about it. I can deal with saltiness, but tasting bad avocado throughout your burrito is just gross and disappointing.
Overall, I will try Humberto's again because today could have been an off day and I see totally the potential and why they have so many good reviews.“

“We ordered over the phone, which was a bit confusing because they didn't ask for my name or number, but they got the order right!
We tried the shredded beef burrito and the carne asada nachos (without sour cream) and both were amazing! The beef and carne asada both had great flavor, and the tortilla for the burrito was great. The nacho toppings were also very good. I wish the accompanying salsa was a bit spicier, but it was still good.
Coming from southern Arizona which has amazing Mexican food, we were impressed! Would definitely recommend.“

“Wonderful, just so wonderful. Had a large party of 8 and everyone was thrilled with their orders which ranged across the whole menu. The fish tacos were a personal highlight, as was the quesadillas and of course Cali burrito (both huge). No lard in the tortillas or in the beans (corn oil) is much appreciated. This place really could fit the bill for neighborhood taco shop but then goes above and beyond and elevates the quality. And the prices are super reasonable.
Vegetarian options: Tortillas and beans are vegetarian and no lard. Rice has chicken stock. Staff are very conscious.
Dietary restrictions: Tortillas and beans have no lard. Staff are very conscious.
Kid-friendliness: Super great for kids.“

Tacos El Vaquero worked closely with us to ensure they could cater our event and meet our needs. A great vendor, and my guests were so happy with how delicious the tacos were. As a host, that’s what you want to hear! 10/10“

“California Burrito Ranking (4):
Continuing my quest to rank San Diego's California Burritos!
Stop number four: Humberto's Taco Shop.
Product: The burrito was the largest I've ever seen, served incredibly quickly. It was fiery hot, almost too much so.Personally, I found the meat a bit dry. It's the cheapest burrito I've had in the city. They offer very spicy sauces. 5 out of 10
Service: The interaction was decent. 4 out of 10
Ambiance: Vibrant colors. Customers carve messages directly into the tables. When I arrived, it was quiet, but soon a large crowd formed and the line extended right to my table. 4 out of 10“

“I missed my trolley stop so I jumped off and see this taco shop across the tracks. The owner was very friendly. He said you missed your stop to come try my food. I "Why not?" and order 3 mini tacos - cabeza, adobado, carnitas. Each one was so tasty. The tortillas were fresh and perfectly chewy. The salsas nicely spicy. And I got a grilled jalapeño. Love those. I'm going to miss my stop every Monday from now on!“

“Very fast service despite the full restaurant. Waiter/cashier was efficient and friendly, food was great, and the restaurant had a great vibe. Garlic shrimp and Birria Tacos were great. The Steak and Egg taco could've been better, but a little of the red salsa on top was all it needed.“

“I stop here every time I’m in this side of my neighborhood. Take the 15 freeway and Exit El Cajon Blvd, go East a few blocks but don’t pass Menlo Ave. Look for Fish and Birria signs waving. They have the whole parking lot just drive in! I usually have two or three Fish tacos (w/o crema) and a pop then they usually know when I’m done because my to-go order is hot and ready!! My grandson is very picky but he looks forward to their Carne Asada Quesa taco’s. I’ve tried a lot off their menu and have never been disappointed, ever. They also GIVE you a “Consommé” which is actually a small portion of their seafood soup not just the fluid, I’ve had whole shrimp in mine many times and small pieces of fish. They’re not stingy with their variety of hot salsas/chili pods and garnishes (limes, cilantro, onions and pickled onions. Lots of ice cold canned and bottled drinks to choose from. This is my only food truck I trust 100% and love their quality of cooking. You’ll agree too once you try them out!“
“Our first stop in San Diego, Where to go to a local put us at Oscar's doorstep & it did not disappoint. Fresh Food, Smoked fish tacos, Surf & Turf Tacos, Steak Burrito, chips & salsa 3 different squeeze sauces. A must go to while visiting …“

“I had the smoked fish tacos ? They did not disappoint. I had to remember to snap a pic before I gobbled them both. Two (2) tacos were very filling so pace yourself in ordering. It’s cool that their menu provides the sizes of the tortilla so you can get a feel for street taco vs regular taco sizes and you know how to order accordingly. I liked the touch that the grilled celery added, just small pieces enhance the flavor and well-seasoned grilled veggies. The atmosphere was well kept too, clean area and tables. The mechanic shop next door was no bother at all. Peaceful, sunny, late morning lunch.“

“Best chicken tortilla soup in San Diego, hands down. Staff is always friendly. Place is a dive, but that’s also what makes it special. “Been eating at their various locations since 2010 and it never disappoints. This is THE best taco shop that ends in "berto". I moved away and every time I come back (6-10 times annually) I get the California Burrito or Fish Burrito.
Food always comes out fast and fresh. Staff is always chill and prices are good for a portion that's 2 meals, especially their Carne asada fries.“

“Taqueria Campos is a lunch counter in the heart of Barrio Logan. I stopped by accident and was struck by the fact that the customers were locals. For the first time I ordered "a huarache" with birria and adobada. The name caught my attention because it means "a sandal." The half-golden tortilla breaded with meat, lettuce and cheese. I didn't add spice so I could enjoy the meats as they had been cooked. Both meats have good seasoning without abusing salt or spices. The tortilla is a little hard for me but it is easy to navigate once chewed??. For dessert I had two options: chocofla and tres leches flan. I opted for the latter. Again good balance of sweet. I'm not cloying like some other sweet desserts. The kitchen is taken care of by the "boss's" sister. And that leads me to the fact that it is a family taqueria. And as such the customers who served while I dined had that everyday familiarity. In the 45 minutes I was there, there was always a customer asking for an order. For me it is important that local customers return for the family atmosphere and good cuisine. It was worth stopping. (I owe the photo of the flan for next time ??)
Parking: It's a lunchbox. Expect to park on the neighborhood's street.
Kid-friendliness: It is a family atmosphere. The clients know the family and they know the family by name.“
