“What a delight!!We had:Scallop CrudoSwordfishScallop RisottoHalibut + ChipsWe loved the Scallop Crudo as a starter to share. It was tangy and fragrant, a delight to the taste buds that prepared the palate for the next course. The swordfish was cooked to perfection, with a tasty blend of flavors. The Risotto was delicious. The atmosphere was lively, warm and friendly.Definitely a must if you are in the area!“
“Very casual locals place hidden behind another business. You order at the counter, then try to find a table. There's indoor seating with a view of the water or outdoor seating, on the water. Seafood was great. Loved my fried seafood platter.“
“Always a wonderful experience whenever we dine here. Mitch and Alex are fantastic servers who are ready to offer suggestions on food items and beverage selections. They are knowledgeable, friendly, and understand how to connect with their customers. A few of our favorite items are the Seafood Tower, Oysters Rockefeller, Octopus a la Plancha, Rockfish Ceviche, Shrimp Aguachile, Crab and Artichoke Dip, Crab Cakes, and Clam Chowder. The bar program is outstanding and the choices pair well with the seafood. This is our favorite place to come and celebrate special occasions and it never disappoints!“
“We were looking for a local place, a hole-in-the-wall, to try some fresh and good tacos…and Oscar’s did not disappoint! It’s a small no-frills joint with flavorful tacos. We ordered the fish, shrimp, and smoked fish tacos. The smoked fish tacos is a MUST! The mixed ceviche was fresh and delicious. They offered a free sample of their fish soup when we were there - I would’ve ordered a bowl. It was so good! and oh so good ?“
“Arrived at 12:45 on Sunday, 4/14. Waited 30 minutes to order, then waited another 30 minutes for the food. So if you're in a time crunch, consider this before going. That said, the staff was working hard and was friendly. And the smoked fish tacos were delicious. I look forward to eating here again.Parking: Parking near the shop is difficult as the restaurant is near the beach and alongside several other shops. You may have to park a few blocks away.“
“Eddie, confirmed he’s not the owner, really took good care of us! The seafood tower we ordered was good but the oysters are rather small (a disappointment). The shrimp entree was excellent and rather meaty! Absolutely love the Crab meat fried rice on the side, very good value!!! My colleague said that the sea bass is delicious but not sure what’s the meaning of Hong Kong style ???The atmosphere of the restaurant is on the posh side. Everyone is very attentive and strive to provide good service! This is a restaurant we chose for business meal, so it served the purposes.“
“Definitely reserve a table if you want to sit on the patio, though keep in mind that it still doesn't guarantee you a table next to the water. Still, the patio seating is beautiful during lunch time on a sunny day.We had forgotten to choose a protein for my salad so I requested salmon on the side after my salad came in. We didn't need to wait long to get it. Their drinks menu is great and they seem to be generous with their stiff drinks.“
“Just go. You’ll be glad you did. A group of us were in San Diego for a convention and decided we wanted some sushi. After some quick research I came across Makai as the only 5-star rated sushi place. I was a little suspicious because restaurants just don’t get 5-stars. There’s always an unhappy customer, right? Well, we took the chance and I’m thrilled we did. The owner is the chef and he was extremely welcoming and his sushi was, no kidding, among the best I’ve ever had. I had the Godzilla sushi bowl and the combination of seafood, rice, sauce, avocados were perfect. I could hear everyday. And, I’ve had sushi all over the country and throughout the world. Some really swanky places. Makai is different. I’s personal. Not pretentious. The food is amazing, but the experience rivals it in it’s feeling of authenticity. Will be watching for this place to grow as people find this awesome place.“
“Great meal, as always, at one of San Diego's finest restaurants. We split a delicious burrata to begin, then enjoyed two veal dishes as entrees: piccata for my wife and a luscious chop with roasted garlic for me. We finished with tasty Tiramisu. Add in a nice bottle of Santi Amarone and it made a memorable evening. Service from Adam was friendly and professional.“
“It was just a beautiful, tasty, artful experience. The atmosphere is warm and friendly, and feels straight out of Japan. The staff are attentive and kind. The reservation system is annoying, but once you get in it makes sense. They have a tiny seating capacity and I believe that's critical to the quality of their food. You have to get the full 2hr omakase. It's an incredible journey from start to finish. I've had sushi all over the world, this is some of the best I've ever tasted. If you sit at the bar (which you must try and do) you can watch their three sushi chefs prepare the fish right in front of you. If you're not used to Japanese flavors and textures, definitely come with an open mind! Most of the pieces they serve aren't the norm in American Japanese restaurants.I went for my birthday and the chef pulled a guitar out of nowhere and serenaded Happy Birthday with the staff. I've been twice and it's absolutely worth the price tag.“
“Well I can say it's an experience to go here! If you're looking for a lively fun yet uniquely different experience come to Baja Betty's order one of their unique drinks and you will see what I'm talking about. The food was fast the drinks were great and when I say strong I mean STRONG!“
“I've been going to Mariscos MI Gusto Es for over 10 years! Everything on their menu is Delicious. My personal favorites are the tacos de Gobenandor, Marlin Tacos and their Cockteles de Campechana..It's family owned and operated❤️Arturo and his wife are super friendly and always greet you with a smile?“
“Blue Water Seafood Market & Grill truly stands out as a must-visit destination for seafood lovers. The highlight of my visit was undoubtedly the poke. Not only was the poke itself exceptionally flavorful and fresh, but the accompanying coconut rice was a revelation. This combination elevated the dish from merely great to extraordinary, showcasing a masterful balance of textures and flavors that left a lasting impression.Equally impressive were the fish tacos. Each bite was a delightful mix of perfectly cooked fish, fresh toppings, and sauces that complemented without overwhelming the natural flavors of the seafood. It's clear that Blue Water Seafood Market & Grill takes pride in their ingredients and preparation, delivering dishes that resonate with authenticity and culinary craftsmanship.“
“Seasons 52 always goes above and beyond! We have never had a bad meal here! Our waitress was super helpful and knowledgeable about the menu! We loved the wine that she recommended so much that we ended up buying a bottle to take home with us! The lamb was incredible as well as the Filet & Lobster!“
“We were treated so well here! The service was wonderful! Chips and guacamole, battered shrimp tacos, carne asada tacos, quesadillas all DELICIOUS!!Kid-friendliness: Extremely kid friendly! Made to order tacos off menu to accommodate our little one. They ensured a very kid friendly experience all around!!! 5-stars!!“
“Husband ordered us Two plates and they were good. The Mac salad was cool, reg basic flavor. The poke compared to a lot of other places was nice & fresh. It does have a little park outside that you can eat at , but being surrounded by business buildings it’s a little meh for me. Past that though , poke quality was good.“
“I recommend the katsu curry over the katsu-don, which is mainly just a rice dish with dashi and katsu loin. The katsu curry is a little salty in my opinion even when I eat it with rice. I also recommend eating the food as soon as it comes out because it doesn’t taste that delicious when it gets cold. I think this is why the first time I got the katsu curry it tasted better than the second time.“
“Beautiful restaurant. Interior booths need an update due to becoming discolored. The tables by the window give a great ambiance. The crab cakes were delicious and seasoned well. The Augratin potatoes were amazing. First time ever eating Brussel sprouts, and they changed my life. I actually want to eat them now. lol ? Overall great experience. The service is great, from the greeter to the waiter to the kitchen. Would return.“
“I had to arrange a dinner for a large group, which went flawlessly with the excellent service from Christy (assisted with arranging a menu) and Enrico our server. They went above and beyond and made sure that everything went smoothly. The food was outstanding and the views simply gorgeous. The portions of food were also very large! What a wonderful restaurant with employees that are highly competent, courteous, and customer focused. I cannot recommend this restaurant enough!“
“Definitely make a reservation. Totally hip place. Great service. Food is OK. Sadly, the swordfish was not tasty at all. In fact, it was very watery. Definitely not five star tries to be a little too Fancy and a little too much seasoning. And a whole lot of smoky of everything. Cocktails are incredible. Bartender was so good. Decor is just basic. But it’s a very busy place with a really nice little patio out front.Kid-friendliness: Not kid friendly based on menu and Quaintance of the restaurant maybe at lunchtime it is but not for dinner“
“Del Mar has grown up!I lived in Del Mar in the 80s and 90s, to see Del Mar and what we called east Del Mar, north city west today, it's unrecognizable. The cute little beach village 92014 retains the same feel. East of the 5 is now a destination for the bougie trendy crowd. The shopping is fantastic, the theatre's top-notch the food and atmosphere is as good or better then the best zips in the state.Nicks fits in perfectly. The place is classy, clean, and delicious.Top this off with world-class service, and it is a must-visit.“
“This place is easily 5 stars! Super friendly and welcoming. They went above and beyond to make sure we were comfortable. They are definitely passionate about their restaurant and it shows. The food was delicious. There are so many awesome looking dishes on the menu. We can't wait to come back and try more of their food!Vegetarian options: This place has lots of options for vegetarian folks!“
“This is a cafe style restaurant. Maybe sets 20 people. Not much ambiance but the food is outstanding. We went there 4 times in the two months we were in the area. They do not have a bathroom so go before you go. We recommend it highly.Parking: It's in a plaza with Manny parking places.Wheelchair accessibility: There is wheelchair accessibility into the building“
“Step into Point Loma Seafood, and you step into a seafood lover's paradise. With an atmosphere that exudes the essence of the ocean, you know you're in for a treat the moment you walk through the door. But it's not just the ambiance that sets this place apart – it's the freshness of their offerings that truly steals the show. From the catch of the day to the succulent shellfish, everything is impeccably fresh, straight from the sea to your plate. Now, let's talk about the stars of the menu: the Alaskan Cod fish sandwich and the shrimp tacos. Each bite of the Alaskan Cod fish sandwich is a symphony of flavors, with the delicate sweetness of the cod perfectly complemented by the crispiness of the batter and the freshness of the toppings. And if tacos are more your style, the shrimp tacos are a must-try. Juicy, flavorful shrimp nestled in warm tortillas, topped with a medley of fresh ingredients – it's a fiesta for your taste buds. So, whether you're a seafood aficionado or just someone who appreciates a good meal, Point Loma Seafood is the place to be. With their commitment to freshness and their delicious offerings, it's no wonder they're a local favorite. Trust me, one bite and you'll be hooked!“
“If you're searching for a dining experience that feels like coming home, look no further than Mi Ranchito. From the moment you step through the door, you're welcomed with open arms and a heartfelt "welcome home" from the owner, Maurice! His warm and friendly spirit sets the tone for an unforgettable meal.We had the pleasure of trying the chicken quesadilla, the fan favorite #3 lobster burrito, and the fish taco, and each bite was a delightful explosion of flavor. The food is not only delicious but generously portioned, ensuring you leave satisfied. With an extensive list of seafood options, there's something to please every palate. But what truly sets this place apart is the genuine care and attention to detail provided by Maurice and his team. It's evident that they are passionate about creating a pleasant and enjoyable experience for every guest!!! My family of 3 loved this place and will definitely be coming back!Vegetarian options: There are various vegetarian burrito options!“
“Rutget exceeded all expectations! From the delightful drinks to the delectable food and vibrant atmosphere, every aspect was simply outstanding. Without a doubt, I'll eagerly return whenever I find myself in Fashion Valley. Highly recommended!"“
“First time at Kikos, I had high expectations and I wasn't disappointed!! I took recommendations from them on what to order. The OG fish Taco is very good and the Chingon burrito with chipotle sauce is ??!! Spicy shrimp Taco was also pretty good!!“
“Clean, inviting, and friendly. I had such a great experience dining here. My waitress Christine was very attentive, friendly, and had great recommendations. Really enjoyed everything we got! The poppers & pickle spears were nicely breaded. Great crunch and flavor! The inside of the poppers was creamy and flavorful. The garlic noodles were so so good and not too garlicky, just the right amount! The boil itself definitely stole the show with its combinations of flavor and spice that just balanced each other out nicely. Definitely will be back!“
“Came in looking for a fried fish taco but their grilled fish taco was off the hook. Wasn't necessarily looking for ceviche but ended up trying their verde sauce shrimp ceviche, it was flavorful and spicy. Definitely coming back. Service was phenomenal, super friendly. The place is small and parking may sometimes be a little challenge but worth it to come and enjoy this pace.“
“We've had dinner and brunch and both were excellent. Next we want to try happy hour. We were able to park at Balboa Park and walk over otherwise street parking is limited. There is a full bar, inside and outside seating. Outside is more casual.“
“Service and food are excellent. I can't get enough of their breakfast/lunch menu - specifically their huevos cazuela and the spicy tuna quesadilla. Both have tuna perfectly seasoned by axiote/achiote. You are missing out if you don't try it.“
“I was really surprised by this place because it's been there for years and I didn't know about it despite working in the area for years. The menu here is amazing. I'd never really eaten or considered Burmese food before but it's like a mix between Indian and Asian food that was great for my tastes. This place is great for vegetarians, pescatarians and vegans with lots of options. I came here for a work event and every dish was beautifully plated and everyone really enjoyed their food.I had the fiery vegetables. It has a nice blend of spices, broccoli and peppers with a bunch of well prepared tofu in a pleasing sauce. I wouldn't call them fiery, but they were spicy enough to be flavorful. I also tried a veggie samosa. It was light and crunchy and the dipping sauce was nice. It could have had a bit more filling but was enjoyable as an appetizer. The big downer about this place is that at lunch the service was extremely slow. The staff was very friendly and was happy to help us choose excellent food options but the kitchen seemed to be a large bottleneck. They brought dishes out one at a time which led some to have their meals in 15-20 minutes but others waited nearly an hour. We had to get back to work so it was sad as some of the desserts looked very interesting.I want to come back here to try many other items on their huge and varied menu but will have to do it for dinner when there is less time pressure.Vegetarian options: There is a dedicated vegetarian part of the menu and they can all be made vegan by request.“
“Had a snapper taco (special) and a bottled Mexican Coca Cola. It was so so good. I saw a complaint about the prices ($6.50 taco, not bad compared to Portland, OR prices). The fish filet inside was nearly an entire serving size, perfectly cooked and seasoned. Tons of fresh avocado and cilantro. The service was friendly and fast. I would 100% recommend. Don’t miss the bottled sauces in the fridge.“
“It had been a very long time since we came to Sizzler… many many years. The Manager Luis jumped in to help get the ordering line moving. Carlos our server was very attentive. Ribeye was seasoned perfectly and vegetables were steamed just right. Salad bar was excellent and fresh, 5 stars for salad bar. Definitely will come back.“
“Host and server were very nice. Street parking only. Get there as early as you can as they fill up fast. Prices were a bit high as it is La Jolla after all. Outside you can smell the sea Lion waste. Food was ok. My fav was the jam for my toast.“
“Trendy atmosphere located on little italy with inside and outside seating. Ceviche and oyster bar. I can't comment on the food as I did a cocktail in a high top chair on the street looking in to restaurant. Excellent wine menu, I loved the Spain “
“Hands down the best poke in SD. Why would you go anywhere else? I wouldn’t. It’s fresh, it’s delicious, and they give you a tasty treat for the end of your meal. Their non-poke items after amazing, too! I’ve been going here for years and don’t ever plan on stopping.“
“OMG genuinely amazing. We stopped in for the first time craving ceviche peruano, and decided to try this place. Mexican style and SO refreshing and delicious!!!!!! We will be back to try everything on the menu. Really really was so fresh and flavorful and tastes so healthy. Definitely worth the $16, got the bowl of fish ceviche to share for an afternoon treat and we were surprised at how satisfied we were after.“
“Service was atttentive. Food was surprisingly good. Place is a hotel restaurant and people are casual despite high prices. We were overdressed! It's beachy casual. People walk in in shorts for dinner. Lamb meatballs were delicious. Bread service didn't need to be $10 loaf of seeded bread. It's not that good. French bread would be better- meatballs could use it. Daughter had a birthday and they brought a chocolate dessert. Nice touch. Overall, nice place. Random spot with good views of marina.“
“Large portions. Friendly staff. Food is pretty dang good. Prices APPEAR to be a bit high due to the neighborhood, but portion easily gave me 2 meals. Well worth it. Huge portions!I came there with 2 hungry coworkers. We all left with extra in boxes for later. I happily recommend this place, straight up.Owner was part of the staff during our lunch. Great guy, very much "on it".Complaints: parking is a hot commodity in this neighborhood. Not their fault! Lol!! (Or is it? Hard to deny how many people like this place!)In short? This place has become a "go to" for many in a very short time. This "up and comer" is getting VERY popular for good reason!Dietary restrictions: Keto friendly in a heartbeat. Diabetic friendly same. I had multiple options, and I'm surprised at the options available.“
“A friend had been recommending this place near Convoy area and finally got a chance to go. Decent parking lot right in front although they can get full during dinner times and weekends since there are three restaurants in the plaza. You order at the register and food is brought out to your table at Havana. Menu is displayed well and service is quick and friendly. My one downside is they are pretty busy and staff moves quickly, but couldn’t keep up with busting tables after people had left so loud off tables just had dirty plates on them for a while. Other than that the place is A+. I got the Arroz Con Pollo and the rice was a Game changer. Chicken was just ok but the rice and the sweet plantains were really good. My wife got the Havana chicken sandwich and it was so great. The chicken on the sandwich was perfectly cooked and seasoned, the bread was really fresh. They have sweetened espresso drinks as well. Got the cortadito style Cuban coffee. Was really tasty. Got it with Oatmilk. I will defiantly be back to try more of their tasty sandwiches and the roasted pork dish as well.“
“I can see why they call this Aces! It is definitely the top of the deck when it comes to Louisiana boil complete with potatoes, corn, crawfish, shrimp, clams, mussels and the most delicious broth, this was a meal to remember. Also got gumbo which did not disappoint!“
“Delicious, fresh, unpretentious food, great service (thanks, Desiree!), lovely setting (well, except for the dusty "live" plastic plants on the wall). What's not to like? Wish we had a neighborhood joint like this near our home. Recommended! And we will definitely be back.Parking: Pretty easy street parking. No stress.“
“Love SoN's! First time at this location, sat at the bar for drinks and dinner. Service was good and drinks were tasty!! Birria Enchilda's were good with egg on top but birria tacos probably would've been better to not over power the dish. El Mercado Salad with grilled chicken was fantastic if you're wanting something on the lighter side. We'll for sure be back.“
“Solid experience all around! Great fresh seafood and service and right by the beach! Conch chowder is delish and the tacos have nice big pieces of fish. You can’t go wrong with this place, especially if you are looking for locally sourced seafood and local vibes.“
“Located on Logan Avenue in the Barrio Logan neighborhood of San Diego, this small restaurant offers delicious, authentic tacos. We enjoyed the swordfish tacos and coconut battered shrimp tacos. We also enjoyed the Coco Pudding with fresh berries We were disappointed that they did not offer to go options because we wanted to take our food to watch the sunset. They were out of a couple options we wanted to try. We arrived at 6:30ish p.m. and found a parking spot in front of the restaurant.“
“What an AMAZING View of San Diego downtown at sunset and nightfall. My catch of the day dinner, a whole Red Snapper, was AWESOME; I ate the whole damn thing mixed with the beans, except for the head! It was grilled to perfection and beautifully displayed.According to my wife, this was the BEST meal we had [I shared some] for our 5-day stay in San Diego. She had the other dish in the photos along with oysters. I, on the other hand, had no interest in not being able to chew my food.“
“This was one of my favorite dining experiences I have ever had. It’s so intimate in there that it just felt like one big family dinner. I loved the BYOB, allowed us to get more dishes and try more since we didn’t have to pay for drinks. The staff was so helpful and kind.THE. FOOD. Oh my god. We recently got back from Italy and this place is LEGIT. The focaccia alone was incredible, and that was just the beginning. We got the wild bear Bolognese, the gnocchi, and the beef ravioli special. It was all completely unreal. It’s a can’t miss in San Diego, we will be back“
“I was treated to my birthday dinner here last weekend and I was pleasantly surprised. Situated on the second floor of the Kimpton Alma Hotel, Chef Neroni envisioned an intimate , "Mad Men" chic, "James Bond-esque" space, and I think he accomplished that.We sipped cocktails with 80s inspired names like Fantasy Island, Rick James and Magnum PI. I had an Alma G&T that was a little on the sweet side. But our server Aria took care of that by adding a little soda water. Aria answered all our questions and made sure that we had everything we needed. We ordered the tartare, kale and citrus salad, lobster bucatini and whole fish. We enjoyed the meal overall! The beef tartare, although delicious, I felt the meat's flavor was hidden by the seasoning. The bucatini was perfectly al dente with a nice amount of lobster pieces. The kale and citrus salad with beets was perfect. It cleansed the palate, dressed with a light citrus vinegrette. Lastly, and the pièce de resistance was the whole fish, which barely fit in the serving dish! The local bass was de-boned and was half dressed with schug, a paste made with cilantro and half harissa, made with red chili's!! Wow, two very different flavors!! It was served with freshly made blue tortillas and Indian rice. We initially mistakenly thought the rice was undercooked. But now realize the crispness was intentional.Lastly, I ordered the basque cheesecake for my birthday treat! It was delicious, topped with meringue and served with a side of horchata ice cream! It certainly topped off a great meal.“
“Very popular and well loved fine dining but casual Little Italy institution. Beautiful expansive horseshoe bar. Of the four of us, I was the only critic of the food. The ingredients are top-notch, but my salad was too acidic. My braised beef cheeks, a generous portion, were oddly crisped but tender on the inside. The broth was, surprise, acidic. Previously, I had the Branzino wrapped in spec (bacon), which was too salty in that it obliterated the taste of the branzino. Then again, everyone else enjoyed their meals.“
