“We had a great dining experience at Urban Plates in Long Beach. Mariana explained the menu choices in a very unrushed manner, and we decided on the steak. I ordered the Chimichurri grass-fed steak with balsamic brussel sprouts and herb-roasted potatoes. All of it was delicious ( and healthy too!). The deserts were absolutely killer too. We will definitely eat here again next time we're in Long Beach.“

“This is an exceptional restaurant that you must visit. I took a friend who frequently eats at Michelin rated restaurants and she could not believe how good the food was. The margaritas were incredible and I can highly recommend the enchiladas vegetale or anything else in that green sauce. Very light, tasty, and satisfying with everything cooked to perfection. Great salsa too. Staff was very attentive and friendly.“

“My husband and I recently visited San Diego from South Georgia during his work trip, and for the three days we were there, we had the pleasure of dining at Shorebird. From the moment we walked in, we experienced some of the best customer service we’ve had in a long time.

Karissa and Jimmy were the first smiling faces to welcome us, and they immediately made us feel like valued guests. Their warmth, genuine hospitality, and positive energy set the tone for an incredible experience.

Our server, Travis, was equally outstanding. He was personable, attentive, and made exceptional recommendations that absolutely did not disappoint. Every suggestion was spot-on, and his service truly elevated our dining experience.

In a time when top-tier customer service can feel like a lost art, these three young professionals reminded us what true hospitality looks like. They deserve to be recognized for going above and beyond.

And the food? Absolutely PHENOMENAL!

Food was terrific, and it was good to see they still cater well for vegetarians.

We often travel through San Diego on our travels, and try to stop here when we can. We haven’t been disappointed yet.

“Had a “daddy daughter” day with my dad. Spent the day at Balboa Park and wanted somewhere near but not too fancy to eat. Found Hidden Craft. The food was so good. My dad got birria fries and a salad. I got the American cheeseburger. One of the best burgers I’ve ever had!! This place is a must try if you’re in San Diego.“

This is a true neighborhood gastropub with that chill “Cheers” vibe, friendly staff, lots of rotating taps (craft beer, seltzers, hard kombucha, etc.), and a solid casual menu. Perfect for a laid-back lunch or happy hour.
I ordered the Power Bowl and it was really good! 🥗 Fresh quinoa base, creamy hummus, perfectly cooked herb-baked salmon, pickled red onions, cucumber, roasted corn, avocado, and that tasty cilantro white sauce. Flavorful, healthy-ish, and filling without feeling heavy. Definitely recommend it if you want something lighter but still satisfying.
Atmosphere is relaxed and welcoming (pet-friendly patio is a plus 🐶). Would happily come back.“

“Shay is the most amazing bartender taking time to learn people’s names and introduce herself. I had the Red Hot Chicken Sandwich, and every bite was a happy dance (literally, I did a happy dance with every single bite) and the Garlic Parm Fries absolutely amazing, I’ve come to this bar a couple of times but this time I was absolutely blown away with Shay and the sandwich (first time ordering these particular items). Normally bartenders are just like your standard typical bartender small chat and remembering drink orders but Shay’s approach to learn names and ask “Hey Jen, do you another?” instead of just the normal BS. SHAY IS A GEM“

“My wife and I went to this cozy place for dinner based on a recommendation. GOOD CALL! Our server was pleasant and checked in on us to make sure we were happy. The food was delivered fast and hot. We shared the 16 oz. T-bone steak. It came out pre cut, ready to share. We also ordered a wonderfully great big salad and a wonderful empanada with beef. The empanada was pleasantly spicy, but not overly. The steak came with lovely potatoes. We also ordered a side of broccolini. I’m not a big veg guy, but I have to say the broccolini was delicious. All said the meal wasn’t the cheapest, but was worth every bite.“

“We held our wedding reception in their garden courtyard in August and I don't have enough words to express how great our experience was from beginning to end. We worked with Lisa M. to plan the reception, mostly via email since we live in another state. Lisa was a delight to work with. She was kind and professional and always gave timely responses no matter the question. The night of the reception was a wonderful time. The food was delicious! Our biggest regret was not asking for a to-go plate. Dee and the entire staff that night were extremely attentive and personable. Their goal was to ensure our special day was as perfect as possible. I would absolutely recommend using them for your reception!“
