“We had reservations to sit outside, but it was raining. I received a call early in the day letting us know we would be moved to the dodo doughnut café, which was adjoined to the restaurant. We enjoyed sitting in that area, as it was much quieter than the main dining room. As for the service, food , friendliness and knowledge of staff, everything was absolutely incredible! Between the four of us, we had the scallops, the chicken, the branzino, and the pork chop. Every single meal was delicious to the last bite. We highly recommend this restaurant.“

“This experience was simply magical. Even before you walk in the ascetics of the building start to set the tone for the journey you are about to embark on. The atmosphere is spectacular and sets a vibe of sophisticated relaxation all while capturing modern industrial. Then there was the service... I wish I remembered all of their names. Thank you to you all! You didn't provide "customer service," you provided hospitality. Lastly... the food. Those who waited on me pointed me in this direction and it wasn't something I normally would have chosen on my own... but it was exquisite! I had the Grilled Iberico Pork "Secreto"... amazing, I could eat it all day, all week, all month. The flavors with each part of the entrée came together brilliantly. All in all, amazing experience, amazing service, amazing atmosphere, and I can't wait to come back!“

We had the duck as an entree, which came with a pretty decent amount of meat, and asparagus and mushrooms on the side. I'm definitely not doing it justice in the description but it was delicious and filling. Not my favorite duck I've ever had but still tasted great. “The food items were delicious, great selection of interesting dishes. The wine list was impressive (we’ve been to major wine areas all over the planet). However, what we were most impressed with was our server Olivia. She knew the menu items very well - could answer any and all questions that we had. She expressed herself very positively. Rather than ask “are you still working on that?”; she asked “are you still enjoying your meal?” Rather than reply to a thank you with “no problem” or “no worries”; Olivia replied with “my pleasure.” When we go back; we’ll make a point of asking for Olivia!!!“

“I had a croissant, some French Toast, and a latte here. I really liked the French Toast! It was covered with pine nuts, and was drenched in syrup (which I was kinda surprised by, since I thought the pine not coating was going to prevent the today from soaking up the syrup). The nuts added some nice texture, and the syrup was a good amount of sweet. It was kinda hard to cut into, so I just kind of had to bite into the toast slices (maybe that's intended, though). The croissant and the latte were decent; nothing too eye opening for them but they I liked them a decent amount (I think the croissant is maybe good, with something else that is more savory than what I got). Overall, I liked what I got, and am happy to go again!“

“I went to this tiny, hidden, establishment on a whim.I love fried chicken and Cluck 'n' Sip had a M-F, $7.99 lunch Special which caught my eye, 2 pieces, 1 side, and a drink. These days that's a great price for a lunch so in I went.Cluck 'no Sip was very clean inside and had about 8 tables. The young lady who took my order was very nice and knew about the different items they had. Which nowadays is quite surprising. In any event I received 2 Large pieces of chicken, a leg and a thigh. And when I say Large I mean LARGE. NOT those wingsized pieces that they claim are Large at the more popular, well known, and Much MoreExpen$$$ivve fast food chicken joints.I also got a decent sized side of jambalaya, a piece of maple buttered toast, and a drinkIt Was Delicious! The chicken was lightly battered and fried perfectly. Not greasy at all. The jambalaya was spicy without being So spicy that it detracted from the flavor of your chicken, and the toast was really tasty. They also offer about 10 different dipping sauces. I tried the Hillcrest dip which was spicy but Not Too.Cluck 'no Sip also has sandwiches, chix tenders and some really good specials that they offer throughout the week.Do yourself a favor and seek out thisnew, great tasting fried chicken spot. You will Not be disappointedI Will Definitely be going back toCluck 'n' Sip.“

“Always a chill vibe at Bivouac. Management/ownership hires the best people. Everyone is always sooo friendly. I'm a beer girl and don't care for super fruity/sweet drinks, but I do enjoy my ciders every so often. This place is always on point because they offer both semi-sweet and semi-dry ciders, draft craft beer and cocktails to accommodate all tastes. I normally come here for a sip rather than food, but the food I have had is also very good. The meatball appetizer is on point, I wouldn't be mad if I paid full price for them since they are yummy, but the $6 happy hour deal is a steal.IDK if you know, but the owner makes a FIRE chili. They've won the chili cookoff at Sonofest a few years in a row now. I attended the Dec. 2023 festival and I can confirm that the chili is delicious. A few weeks back, they had a ton of off-menu chili specials which I obviously couldn't pass up.This place is great for a date night, happy hour vibes, etc. Stop by! They're also very dog friendly which is a plus for me. My dog even loves the atmosphere here because she always tries to go in when we walk by. :)“

“Nates is great. There is normally live music, so be prepared if you plan to sit outside. I find the older I get, the more I want to tell people to turn things down. My 10th grade English teacher used to say "decibels" when we got too loud. I hear her voice in my head so much now. If you're old and ornery like me, it is much quieter inside. There is a decent amount of seating inside or out, so you should have options.I mostly get the French toast plate. I always have leftovers. I've tried a few of the ornery dishes and have yet to complain about anything. The bathrooms always seem tended to. The staff is nice. I enjoy talking with them while I pretend to be confused about what I'm going to order. You know how we attempt to try and expand ourselves. Try something new. I know I'm going to land right back at the French toast, but I make the effort. There is a garden store attached. There are a few animals, goats, Turtles, tortoises and such. There are also plants and flowers. It's nice to walk through after eating. Pretty ambiance to enjoy after eating. You can get a little walk in.“

Those ginger soy marinated wings were soooooo flavored omg. I wanted more and more haha! The service was amazing, if you don't sit at the bar top, you can order from a side window and I swear my drinks came out in less than 2 minutes and the whole place was packed! The guy working the window was extremely friendly and we felt welcome the second we walked in! Will DEFINITELY be back!“

“The food at this restaurant was very good, but the service was quite slow (delivery of water, drinks, napkins, take-away box, etc.). It was a bit frustrating to sit and wait while watching the waiter stand around and talk as we waited. Even so, the food was delivered in a very reasonable amount of time, and it was very tasty. The restaurant was unusually cold inside, and the seats are very hard. We had to eat with our jackets on, and we had to take seat cushions from other chairs when they became available. We might return to this restaurant in the future, but would hope for better service.“

“Party of 5 sat at a table ... Had special drinks for Sat ... Best meat was the Brisket ... Everything else was real good but the Brisket was beyond compare. Dessert was awesome, had the bread pudding. Everything was commendable but a bit pricey for BBQ and I noticed a 5% additional fee added to the bill because of the increase in minimum wage and I reduced the tip accordingly ....“

“We went for weekend brunch and since we had reservations, we were seated immediately.Pros: We had the wood fired cauliflower and chicken sandwich. The wood fired cauliflower was simply delicious with a burst of flavors (tangy, sweet with a little bit of spice). The portion size is particularly small for this dish but we were warned by the waitress beforehand so we knew what to expect. The chicken sandwich was nice and juicy.Cons: For a brunch place, the only coffee option they had was the drip coffee. So if you're looking for a nice cup of latte or espresso or cappuccino, you won't find it here.“

“I've had drinks at Nick's numerous times before and the bartenders are always fantastic and the drinks are great. Came here for dinner this time, and the food was prepared perfectly. I wouldn't say it's extraordinary or unique in any way, just your more basic American style high-end. The sea bass was cooked perfectly, however there was just a little drizzle of sauce next to it and it really left something to be desired. The fish didn't really have a lot of flavor other than the little spot of sauce that was used up after about three bites. The mashed potatoes were good, and the try to asparagus spears were decent as well! I wouldn't run to have dinner here again over all the other places available in San Diego, but the service was spot on, the food was prepared perfectly, the drinks were good and the atmosphere was lively. A great place for happy hour as well!“

“"Wings were good." - from my 13 year old dining partner! We LOVE sandbar. We come here every time we stay on mission beach. It's a sports bar, downstairs can be kind of loud - but the tv's are great for march madness watching! We always start with the AMAZING pretzel bite appetizer. Always the best.Tonight I had a cobb salad. Got exactly what i expected & it was refreshing. The little dude ordered the wings and enjoyed the Spicy Garlic Ranch sauce. YUM. The only reason I took off one star was that I never got a water refill our whole meal. The upstairs is really our favorite part of the restaurant, but it was a little too cold to sit up there tonight!Great job and of course we will be back!Kid-friendliness: It's great! Kids are never questioned and the servers treat them like adults! Super appreciate that it's a bar, but also family friendly!“

“A couple days ago there was a post asking about the best eggs benedict in OB. A lot of people had recommended Surf Lodge and since I was unfamiliar with eggs benedict (and it is something I would not usually order), guess where I visited yesterday on my day off. ? I went to OB Surf Lodge and had to try their well talked about Crab & Bacon Benny which is seasoned crab cakes, sliced tomato, arugula, crumbled bacon, poached eggs & hollandaise served on rustic sourdough. I now see why it was well recommended as it was a happily delicious meal. Surf Lodge is also a great spot to just lounge and people watch while feeling the ocean breeze blowing through their spot. I got to talking with David the manager after I had already placed my order and he said he loves this meal and instead of it on sourdough toast he gets it on English muffins. I feel that’s a valuable pro insider tip and now can’t wait to try it again that way.“

“Easily one the best joints I have found in the past few years. The quality of their steak as part of a breakfast meal was way better than I am used to outside of a dinner at a high end steak place. One of us has a gluten allergy and they had plenty of great gluten free options. I have been twice in two days now and all of the food has been excellent. Their staff are also super welcoming and courteous.Dietary restrictions: Gluten Free“

“First time visiting this place. It was a cute, cozy atmosphere. It feels like you're in someone's home. They have a full bar and food menu. I ordered the steak and fries and the BF ordered a burger. We started with their calamari and drinks. I have to say, everything was GOOD. Food was fresh and delicious. My bloody mary was really good and well put together. Service could have been better, but I don't regret trying this place.“
