Communion Mission Hills Reviews
Have been a couple of times, with 6-8 people each visit, while vacationing in SD and have had nothing but amazing experiences. Food, drinks and service were impeccable every time. Menus are amazing and make it hard to choose so we usually pick many selections and share. Have to especially recognize how PERFECTLY cooked our steaks were as we are super picky with how we like them. The entire staff there was always been attentive, friendly and accommodating. I have been here twice and they have the best happy hour in San Diego.
The cocktails are great here. It is expensive but you know what you’re getting yourself into, no? Sunset hour is a great time to be at the bar. Come have a celebratory drink sometime and treat yourself to a nice evening.

Communion Mission Hills offers a beautiful view of downtown and is a great spot to watch the sunset from its terrace or cute patio. The restaurant is ideal for special occasions and brunch, with many guests planning to return. The service is consistently described as fantastic, welcoming, and attentive, with friendly staff. Happy hour provides reasonably priced wine and cocktails, available at the bar or outside standing area. The drinks are delicious, including specific cocktails like the Gold Rush, which is super refreshing and balanced, and the brunch Bloody Marys, which are to die for.
The food features super fresh and healthy ingredients. For starters, the delicious Brussels sprouts, kale salad, rosemary bread rolls, and pork wings are highly recommended. The beet steak entree is a standout for vegan diners. Other noted items include the sticky bun at brunch, which is to die for, and the perfectly crisp French fries. While most dishes are praised, some items like the fried artichokes and chicken skewer can be just okay or dry. Parking on the Main Street is noted as fairly easy. The overall experience is excellent, making it a place guests look forward to visiting for happy hours and dinners.
