“Food was nothing short of incredible. Tried the Super Beef and a Buffalo Tender Sub. The beef was super tender, sliced very thin, and piled high. The sauce was reminiscent of a bbq sauce but much lighter with a thinner consistency. Sauce was tangy and slightly sweet and works perfect with the flavor of the beef. The tenders were perfect and stayed crispy even when tossed in buffalo. Portions of both were large and absolutely worth the price. Try the tortellini salad! Customer service was great as well!“

“My friend and I went here yesterday for their new brunch service and it was really great! The food was excellent (we had the fruit w/ mascarpone and I had the breakfast sandwich w/ potatoes) and the flavors were perfect. The decor was really cool and everyone that worked there was really lovely. I had no idea what to expect since we kind of found this place by chance, but I highly recommend it. It is in a bit of a random location, but don't be dissuaded by that. As an extra bonus, they have those amazing Japanese toilets in the bathroom, so don't skip that haha.“

He recommended a pizza and said it was "really good." LIAR!! It was FANTASTIC?!! Santiago so undersold his recommendation. I've been back 3 times (and bragging to all my friends about the spectacular food), trying something new each time. The Meatball Hilly... so beautiful ! Very difficult to pick one as a favorite pizza because they've ALL been amazing!! Most recent orders for our pizza crowd were Golden Hill, Classic Cheese, Downtown, and The Boulevard (White pizza). A wide variety of choices where everyone felt they were a winner! And for those who routinely leave the pizza crust... to leave a Hillcrust Pizza crust uneaten would be a sin.Sorry no pictures. “I was really surprised by this place because it's been there for years and I didn't know about it despite working in the area for years. The menu here is amazing. I'd never really eaten or considered Burmese food before but it's like a mix between Indian and Asian food that was great for my tastes. This place is great for vegetarians, pescatarians and vegans with lots of options. I came here for a work event and every dish was beautifully plated and everyone really enjoyed their food.I had the fiery vegetables. It has a nice blend of spices, broccoli and peppers with a bunch of well prepared tofu in a pleasing sauce. I wouldn't call them fiery, but they were spicy enough to be flavorful. I also tried a veggie samosa. It was light and crunchy and the dipping sauce was nice. It could have had a bit more filling but was enjoyable as an appetizer.The big downer about this place is that at lunch the service was extremely slow. The staff was very friendly and was happy to help us choose excellent food options but the kitchen seemed to be a large bottleneck. They brought dishes out one at a time which led some to have their meals in 15-20 minutes but others waited nearly an hour. We had to get back to work so it was sad as some of the desserts looked very interesting.I want to come back here to try many other items on their huge and varied menu but will have to do it for dinner when there is less time pressure.Vegetarian options: There is a dedicated vegetarian part of the menu and they can all be made vegan by request.“

The only issue I had is I think they need to cook the pasta a bit more overall. All of the pastas tasted gummy and still quite doughy.( ) Roman carbonara - It was really interesting eating carbonara with rigatoni pasta. Not necessarily complaining, just an interesting observation. Flavor was good, it was very eggy, but again, the pasta was so doughy and I think needed more time.(+) Short rib ravioli - This was delicious. No notes! Great flavor, short rib was tender, pasta was actually cooked enough.( ) Tiramsu - Tiramisu was just okay, it came in a roll not in a slice, and it was fine. I was pleasantly surprised that they were open after more than a year of waiting! The two ladies helped us with recommendations and described each menu item and made it so easy to order. For their soft opening they are offering 25% off but also don't have all their ingredients nor take-out containers. We tried the turkey sandwich with avocado, greens, and an egg, and papaya fruit juice (which was actually a smoothie!). The noodles in the chow mein were slightly overcooked but that didn't take away from the flavor. All the dumplings were delicious and the orange chicken was some of the best I've had. Located in a funky little strip mall full of fishing shops, this bodacious deli serves up some gnarly grub that will leave your tastebuds hanging five. Scoring a parking spot can be a bit of a bummer with all the switched-on surfers filling up the lot, but it's well worth maneuvering into a tight spot to soak up the heavenly aromas wafting from this hip hole-in-the-wall. One whiff of the fresh baked bread, veggie crispers and premium deli meats and you'll be amped to snag a table. I bellied up and ordered the Admiral's Avocado Delight sandwich - which may just be the most epic thing ever assembled between two slices of bread! Layers of creamy avocado, veggies galore and thinly sliced meats dripping with flavor all came together into the most mouthwatering meal since I paddled out at Pipeline. This glorious sandwich was a totally tubular taste treat! I washed it all down with an Arnold Palmer, which was a tasty mix of lemonade and iced tea. But as stoked as I was on the eats, I was majorly bummed that this bodacious deli closes up shop at 5pm. With my day gig keeping me hanging ten in the office late into the evenings, their early close makes scoring a handcrafted sandwich a bit tricky. So if you're looking to get pitted on some awesome eats, be sure to carve out some time before five and make the epic journey to the Surf Side Deli in Point Loma. Cowabunga! The food was delicious, and everyone kept coming up to me saying how tasty it was after we set it up! Wish they'd bring back shrimp though!I wish they had a warm beverage option... coffee, tea, etc. All the drinks are cold.The service and convenience of the best part. Ordering ahead online or in the app means almost no waiting, but even ordering at the counter is pretty swift. The staff is always helpful, friendly and goes out of their way for us. They're really nice to check on us throughout the evening, fix any (rare) issues, let us linger a while and clean up/rearrange tables etc after we leave.The location is good, the restrooms and restaurant always clean and there is always a lot of easy, free parking.Only thing is, sometimes the music is very loud and depending on the staff member they might not always turn it down for you.Big shout out to many of the staff members, namely Ytzul.Parking: Lots of free, close parking in the attached lot. “Came and ate here and had a few slushies. I had the Mexican Firing Squad, my husband had the Ube Colada. Both were delightful! To eat I had the Shrimp Fried Rice and my husband had the Fancy Grilled Cheese and added chicken. The food was delicious! Especially the SFR! It was a very large portion. A good amount of acai, plus ample amounts of strawberry, banana, some blueberries and blackberries, plus some granola, shredded coconut, and a bit of honey. There was no one in the store when I went, which is such a shame - this place is a hidden gem, I guess (despite being literally right next to El Cajon blvd). “I tried the Kebab shop location in Ventura and have loved it ever since, so when I was getting into San Diego after a long work week I was craving the freshness and cleanliness feel of the Kebab Shop food. I had the San Diego wrap previously which was fantastic and turned me onto this place in the first place. This time I had a bowl on greens with chicken and added rice and hummus. They have the greatest mixture of flavors with their ingredients and the classic garlic yogurt sauce brings it all together. Love this place and have tried to make my own version at home but just doesn't compare.“
“Que Sazon is a very small Mexican Torta restaurant which is perfect for takeaway or a quick snack. They have a very small patio area with just 5 seats so unless you get lucky plan on takeaway. I had the Mango Tostada with fish which was a reasonable size, lots of mango chunk, very tasty but a little to spicy for a lightweight like me. The Agua Fresca was very tasty and refreshing and helped counter the spicy serrano sauce.“
“I pass by Big Front Door often heading to work. Decided to stop in and give it a try this afternoon. I got their Cobbler salad and my friend got the chicken parmesan sandwich. The portion sizes are very generous, I asked for extra dressing with my salad and didn't really need it as there was a decent amount left. The food tasted great and was served up without much of a wait time. The star of the show was the gentleman that helped us though! I wish I had taken the time to get his name to give him proper credit. He greeted us, made small talk while my friend and I decided what to have and as we were leaving he offered to clear our table for us. Very polite and friendly! I will definitely be adding this to my list of regular places to go.“

However, what we were most impressed with was our server Olivia. She knew the menu items very well - could answer any and all questions that we had. She expressed herself very positively. Rather than ask “are you still working on that?”; she asked “are you still enjoying your meal?” Rather than reply to a thank you with “no problem” or “no worries”; Olivia replied with “my pleasure.” When we go back; we’ll make a point of asking for Olivia!!!“
