“My family and I had such an incredible experience at Alforon! Samia, co-owner and sole waitress/hostess, laughed with us the entire time, sharing her candid recommendations and suggestions. The za'atar flatbread, chicken kebab, and aaysh essaraya (we ended up ordering two!) were particularly delightful. It was our first time, but it was incredibly telling that the rest of the guests were regulars (one couple was there for the third time that week) - the entire experience felt like we were having a meal at a beloved family member's home. I wish we lived in San Diego because I would be back in a heartbeat!“

“I love this place! I came here for the first time a few years ago for brunch, for my husband’s birthday and we loved it. Last night we decided to come back for dinner to celebrate our anniversary and it was the best decision we made! We sat on the patio facing the bay at sunset. It was so relaxing on the patio, not super busy. The service was amazing and the food even better! My husband had the prawns and I had the black risotto. Delicious! They even gave us a complimentary dessert in honor of our anniversary. So sweet! We will definitely be coming back soon!“

“Just tried the falafel sandwich from Falafel California and it did not disappoint! The bread was perfectly grilled and crispy with a nice toasted flavor, wrapped tight and packed with flavor. It came with three different sauces (garlic, spicy red, and a mild white sauce) — each one added something different and paired really well with the sandwich.

Everything was neat and well packaged too. Great quality for the price. Will definitely be ordering again and highly recommend it to anyone in the area.“

“Food was good. However, the cashiers were busy cleaning up for the night vs taking care of customers. It wasn’t late, either. It was around 7:30 or 7:45 on a Sunday. The cleaners they use are very strong. Very pinesol or something like that. Glad I got food to go because I wouldn’t want to have smelled the cleaners during dinner. Dining room had zero vibe.“

“Such a great dinner experience from start to finish! The atmosphere was beautiful, the staff was super friendly, and the whole experience felt very elevated.

I ordered The Pink Lady, which was just as pretty as it was enjoyable, followed by the Boujie Burger with crispy fries. Everything was delicious! I wrapped up the meal with the Chocolate Budino, which was the perfect sweet ending.

One of my favorite little details was the branded hand towels already waiting on the table. Such a thoughtful touch, and they definitely came in handy after getting into a good burger!

And we have to talk about the bathrooms because WOW! Let's just say they understood the assignment. Even the bathroom experience felt boujie!

“I can’t believe I almost drove past this place. My girlfriends and I wanted to try a new place in college area and this is now our go-to spot. I love the family banter between coworkers, the local flyers in the hallway, and the decorations. Most importantly - the food!! Absolute best Mediterranean food I’ve had in a while and they have this secret sauce that hits everytime. I’ve seen some people saying the prices are too high for the portions, but not at all. The portions are huge (definitely room for leftovers), and the prices are no different than a Luna Grill or Kebab Shop. So if you’re thinking of trying something new, look no further. P.S. there’s a bowl of candy at the register“

“Believe them when they say they offer large portions! Every salad option and specialty plate is easily shareable and very fresh and delicious. We dined in and took home considerably more than ate during our visit. Looking forward to trying other menu items and having leftovers for days!“

“We were wandering around the Gaslamp looking for a new restaurant to try. We luckily went into Mimosa. What a lovely dinning experience. We had the dinner for two. This gave us the chance to try most of their specialties .It was really impressive that each entree had its own unique flavor. The service was excellent and very friendly. “This was our first time trying Somali food, and it definitely won’t be our last! We asked the staff what they recommended, and every suggestion was excellent.

The whole fried fish was perfectly crispy with amazing flavor, the halal buffalo fries were spicy and delicious, and the sambusas were some of the best we’ve had. We also tried a drink we’d never had before that tasted like a mix between Dr Pepper and grape soda, and it was surprisingly refreshing!

The service was friendly and welcoming, and they made our first experience with Somali cuisine a great one. My husband enjoyed it so much that he already said he’ll be stopping by for lunch whenever he’s working in San Diego.

“Had the MTW pita it was very fresh and tasty. The open kitchen concept is cool, you can see the shawarma and pita being made. I went on a Tuesday at peak lunch time and it was fairly busy, the food came out promptly and the cashier was friendly and welcoming. Came for the vegan/plant based options and was happy with the selection. It's really nice to have a fast casual option that's fresh. Will definitely be back.“

“We have ordered Kebabs before here, we recently ordered a meal kit that was all rice and hardly any meat, I mean it was a joke, its a $30 meal. I messaged them because we have ordered several times before and thought maybe they would try to make it right but they never replied. This was 2 weeks ago. We will never buy food here again! The servings are very small and there are tons of other places to eat or order take out around here if they want to be jerks about it! The food is average really, we order out frequently so as not to have to cook and live in the area. We got about $1 worth of rice and lettuce for a $30 meal plate, what a joke!“
