“First time here and not disappointed. Didn't have a long wait like others said. The doma was excellent. I got the combo to try their meats - beef kabob, chicken Tikka, and beef shawarma. All were seasoned well, especially the shawarma...very bold. But it's the cook on the meat that set them apart! All 3 were tender, juicy, and savory. Too many overcook these but they just melted in my mouth. Highly recommended.“

The cleaners they use are very strong. Very pinesol or something like that. Glad I got food to go because I wouldn’t want to have smelled the cleaners during dinner. Dining room had zero vibe.“

“Just tried the falafel sandwich from Falafel California and it did not disappoint! The bread was perfectly grilled and crispy with a nice toasted flavor, wrapped tight and packed with flavor. It came with three different sauces (garlic, spicy red, and a mild white sauce) — each one added something different and paired really well with the sandwich.

Everything was neat and well packaged too. Great quality for the price. Will definitely be ordering again and highly recommend it to anyone in the area.“

The deviled eggs, watermelon, salad, hummus, and pita, artichokes and falafel were amazingly good. We then ordered the Bronzino and the saffron chicken, which were outstanding as well. “Today the food was amazing. We had some Shawarma and we had some of their salad, which was original Palestinian. This place was so good me and my friend Adnan loved it. We got the lemon mint drink and it felt like we were back home in the Middle East. This is the best Mediterranean food I’ve had in San Diego.“

“We were wandering around the Gaslamp looking for a new restaurant to try. We luckily went into Mimosa. What a lovely dinning experience. We had the dinner for two. This gave us the chance to try most of their specialties .It was really impressive that each entree had its own unique flavor. The service was excellent and very friendly. The restaurant filled up quickly and so I guess we'll get a reservation next time.“

“This was our first time trying Somali food, and it definitely won’t be our last! We asked the staff what they recommended, and every suggestion was excellent.

The whole fried fish was perfectly crispy with amazing flavor, the halal buffalo fries were spicy and delicious, and the sambusas were some of the best we’ve had. We also tried a drink we’d never had before that tasted like a mix between Dr Pepper and grape soda, and it was surprisingly refreshing!

The service was friendly and welcoming, and they made our first experience with Somali cuisine a great one. My husband enjoyed it so much that he already said he’ll be stopping by for lunch whenever he’s working in San Diego.

“We have ordered Kebabs before here, we recently ordered a meal kit that was all rice and hardly any meat, I mean it was a joke, its a $30 meal. I messaged them because we have ordered several times before and thought maybe they would try to make it right but they never replied. This was 2 weeks ago. We will never buy food here again! The servings are very small and there are tons of other places to eat or order take out around here if they want to be jerks about it! The food is average really, we order out frequently so as not to have to cook and live in the area. We got about $1 worth of rice and lettuce for a $30 meal plate, what a joke!“

“Great spot for a solid restaurant. I had an excellent gyro like the addition of a slight garlic taste and pickled taziki. French fries were not those typical double friend fries you find in calico Rina which I do not like at all but thin, hot and perfectly cooked. This is a GREAT option for this type of food at good prices“
