“This is not a review about the place, but a review about a person that works here. His Name is Raz and let me tell you that this guy will go above and beyond for you. My wife and I were visiting the coffee place next door and lost our keys. We thought maybe we had lost them in the parking lot so we went next door to see of maybe somebody that visited the place next door had turned them in , that's when we met Raz. If the owner personally knows Raz just know that he went above and beyond to try and help us and we hope that if there is some type of employee compensation for his actions because his care, time, and compassion he displayed made our unfortunate situation go alot easier. We are visiting from out of town and I had my wife and 1 yr old daughter. Eventually we found our keys but as mentioned before if it wasn't for Raz our situation would have felt worst“
“I loved my falafel wrap from here. I have been looking for a falafel with a soft core and a not too oily fried exterior, and this was exactly it. Partner got the lamb shank and I was eating the rice that came with it on its own.Ample parking .“
“I’ve come here the past three days and every single time it hits. The girl in the front always has a smile and makes sure my bowl is always looking right. Cashier is always positive and tells me to have a nice day and makes me enjoy my meal even more.“
“My friend, who is a native Iraqi, took me to Happy Time and I was blown away by the authenticity and deliciousness of the food. We ordered a sampler of things and the kanaf at the end was simply mouth-watering. Five stars for the food, service and friendliness!“
“Ordered the Wet Birria Tacos with everything on it and despite the sizes of them being small (see lime for scale), they pack a punch for flavor so get extra! The service was speedy, and they were super gracious with explaining how they work. Their being Zabiha halal (view their instagram) is a great way for everyone to eat and I can't wait to see what else they do with their food.“
“Traditional Afghan cuisine. I have been doing commercial real estate for a living for 36 years and l eat at restaurants all the time. This particular place is my very favorite for Mediterranean food. I love the food and the service. I drive one hour just to come and it here. It is worth the drive ???“
“I have always been satisfied with the food and service at Mal Al Sham. However, I believe they need to improve their seating system. They should either have a designated person to handle seating guests or implement a system that uses names and arrival times. When my family and I arrived, the lady at the entrance informed us that we would be seated next in 5 to 10 minutes when a table became available. Unfortunately, a few minutes later, another family arrived and the person near the door ignored his colleague and seated them before us, even though we had arrived first. This goes against the principle of first come, first served. and in this case, favoring customers over others is how I see it.Apart from this issue, the food is excellent and I consider it to be one of the best Arabic restaurants in San Diego. I always recommend this place to others.Vegetarian options: Falafel is our favorite vegetarian optionParking: Very limited“
“I never write reviews…even when I really really disliked a place…but I’m literally writing this right after I ate here. First of all, I think the lady that helped me order was named Alexandera…well give her a raise…I haven’t had a better customer service experience in such a long time! And that’s on top of how good the food was! I had the Chx Cream Chop Wrap…and wow! So good!!! And when you add that red sauce that it came with…seriously…mind blown! Not only will I come back…I will tell everyone I know about this place!“
“I have been wanting to go here for years and finally had a chance to go with my wife for a Friday lunch. Parking can be a little tough, but there is free street parking and pay lots nearby. The restaurant atmosphere is super cool inside and the wait staff was incredibly friendly. The food was delicious. We got an appetizer platter and loved it. We ate the entire appetizer platter, including extra Pita bread, and almost ruined our appetites before our entrées arrived. The main meals were delicious. I also got the vegetarian platter with 4 different items and different rices.I will definitely go again (next time not on a Friday during Lent so that I can try some of the entrées with meat options). I will also recommend to friends and others.Vegetarian options: Wide variety of vegetarian options with excellent flavor profiles and large, hearty portions.“
“Wondered in after reading the sign outside advertising a special. Somalian food I had not ever experienced. I was offered a delicious hot black tea with milk and sugar. I ordered the salmon with rice, and salad. It was SO DELICIOUS. Clove and bay leaf slow cooked rice. The fish lightly crisp on the outside, buttery and cooked to perfection within. Kind courteous Somalian people and culture. I look forward to sharing more, and trying other dishes. Ancient good food.“
“Went to try the cauliflower sliders , they were so good!! Great option for vegetarians. I'm not a fan of crinkle cut fries, but theirs are the best I've ever had. A little pricey for fast food, but what isn't nowadays?Definitely going back! I love that you can choose the spice level, anywhere from zero to 10. Parking at this location during lunch was a hassle. Might want to park at Home Depot and walk over.Vegetarian options: Cauliflower is breaded and deep fried? Air baked? Don't know which. Wasn't greasy and was delicious perfection.“
“We had a pretty big group of friends getting together after quite some time. Paya and Nihari were the best. My friends liked the grilled kebabs also. They also introduced Khapsa, a Yemani dish but with a desi twist. Very tasty. Overall great experience. Highly recommendedParking: We arrived pretty late in the day, so parking was no issue.“
“Wagyu beef and the chicken were really tender and melted in your mouth! Prices are a little steep for a food truck. I had a few items to share: wagyu beef and chicken plate was really good and delicious rice! The lemon cream chop fries were great the first half of the portion, I think I got over with the lemon taste after that, but the breaded chicken on top was great.I also tried the Greek wrap. I felt like it was soggy and had "too much going on outside the wrap" for my taste.Overall, I've had this place twice in a week, I would go again, but I feel that Guy F. From food network really helped put it on the map.“
“The gentleman that served my meal was very kind. He even showed care in details that I’m not used to being asked: “1 or 2 cups of ketchup?” “Would you like ice in your drink?” I don’t know of any other place that takes the time to show they care and ask the details. He was very kind and respectful and the food was good!“
“I love this place. They are always pleasant and greet you when you walk in. Food is amazing every time. Even for a small business they seem passionate about what they do. Would definitely recommend this place to anybody looking to taste authentic East African cuisine.“
“This Somalian restaurant is a hidden gem. The diverse menu boasts authentic Somali dishes that tantalize the taste buds with unique flavors. The service is exceptional, characterized by warmth and attentiveness. The restaurant's ambiance, adorned with cultural elements, provides a cozy and inviting space, making it an immersive and delightful dining experience.“
“Was a toss between 3 and 4 stars but ended up giving 4. Ordered the soltani, chicken kabob, and cucumber yogurt dip. First I thought it was kind of weird for them to give garlic Nan instead of Persian bread but the Nan was tasty. The chicken kabob was very good and tender so I would definitely recommend. The soltani was a different story. The koobahdi was standard and good but the filet was not filet. It literally tasted like carne asada which I have never experienced at a Persian restaurant before. Price point was on the level for the quality of the food.“
“Nahrain Fish & Chicken Grill is a must-visit for seafood and chicken lovers! Their menu offers a delicious array of fresh fish and succulent chicken dishes that are sure to satisfy your cravings. From perfectly grilled fish fillets to flavorful chicken kebabs, every bite is bursting with flavor. The restaurant has a cozy and welcoming atmosphere, making it a great spot for a casual meal with friends or family. The staff is friendly and provides excellent service, ensuring a memorable dining experience. So, if you're in the mood for some mouthwatering seafood or chicken, head over to Nahrain Fish & Chicken Grill! ??“
“Okay so I have been coming to this restaurant for the past year and a half right at when they were a food truck. I tell you what they have the best shawarma and beef burger in town. You will definitely not be disappointed! Great customer service on top of that!“
“Second time getting individual pizza here. I got the Parmesan Chicken pizza ?with mushrooms, love it!!! The customer service is pristine. The owner is a really welcoming and attentive person. I forgot to leave any review cause I was devouring the amazing food. We will definitely be coming back!Vegetarian options: I’ve seen options for pizzaParking: Parking is available right in front of the shop“
“Just stopped by here about 5 minutes ago. My son has been wanting to try shawarma. So we stopped here. It was amazing the food was excellent. My wife and son loved it and said that's its our new stop when in Santee. Thanks to the guy working with all the help and guidance. Had the beef and the chicken shwarmas both excellent. Thanks again.“
“My coworker and I came here on a Friday night, I think he had some sort of Groupon. We ordered a ton of things: Masala Vada - Deep fried chana dal patties served with Chutney, Masala Dosa - Dosa stuffed with masala (potato, carrot, peas and onion), Vegetable Biryani - Dosa stuffed with masala (potato, carrot, peas and onion), Malai Kofta - Deep fried balls (koftas) made with potato and paneer are dunked in a creamy spiced velvety smooth curry, Gobi Manchurian - Cauliflower florets tossed in hot chilli and soy based manchurian sauce, Bisi Bele Bath - Rice, lentils, and vegetables cooked with special blend of spices, Onion Naan and Garlic Naan. Food was amazing and I would love to come here again!“
“Never ate Iraqi kabobs since 7 years. They did it the way that people do it in Iraq. I wish they make the rate 10 of 5 so I put 10! The kabab is my recommendation. They are the only restaurant that do it like that…as far as I have tested in the other places. The bread is fantastic as well! The food is not expensive. Very good prices.“
“Went to this place a couple weeks to catch the happy hour. We've been looking for good indian food since the pandemic and we have found it!! Garry was the best and was attentive to our needs. When the tables started to fill up, he got a bit busy but he would check in and see if we needed anything else. Food was delicious and the MANGOSSSSSS! So good! Try out the happy hour! Will go again. (Side note: The restaurant has a rental hall and it does get a bit loud when they play music but we didn't mind. )“
“I am an Indian and this is very very close to authentic food. Hands down the most delicious Indian food we had in a very long time in America. We tried chicken biryani, saag, kofta curry made extra spicy with garlic naan. Our server Gaurav suggested these based on our North Indian heritage and want to thank him for this.“
“Everything was delicious!!! I had the whole tandoori chicken plate and a harthiya burger. I HIGHLY recommend both. The restaurant is super clean so the new management does wonders! All of the workers were so kind. I'm coming back to try all of the appetizers and the chicken escalope sandwich! Will be back this weekend.“
“This place is truly a jewel to your palate and pocketbook! Delicious food, ample serving, personal family service, and all at a fair price! The place could use some cleaning up, fresh paint, putting someone on regular bathroom detail, but that aside I do recommend this place to anyone looking for that Middle East charm!! We ordered the feast for 4, but it could easily feed 6 starving students!“
“5 out of 5 of a great service, and 10 out 10, or in this case to infinity ♾️ to their delicious food and the drinks, also as a recommendation to this Indian restaurantKid-friendliness: Don't let your kids, be so picky, unless they'll try it and they'll enjoy it, and so as their parents will try it too, as recommended of course.“
“This place is absolutely amazing it has delicious authentic halal cuisine. My kids love the chicken kabob and rice. I personally love their tasty bean soup as well as their aromatic rice with carrots and raisins it has the perfect combination of flavors. The lamb shank is definitely a dish you must have. It’s perfectly cooked and has the best texture and flavors. Every time we dine in is absolutely a great experience. That’s the reason we continue eating at this wonderful restaurant.Kid-friendliness: They are kid friendly. Great place for families.“
“All of their food here is great is great at reasonable prices. I also shop here a lot for items I can't find at more mainstream grocery stores. All of their produce and frozen items are good and hard to find anywhere else. Lines are never long and everyone is helpful and nice.“
