“Ciccia Osteria is a gem of authentic Italian cuisine in the heart of Barrio Logan. The chefs, Mario and Francesca, use recipes from Northern Italy and pair them with exquisite wines. They even bake their own panettone, a traditional Christmas cake. The restaurant has a cozy and charming atmosphere, with food made with love. However, parking can be tricky, so I recommend taking an Uber. They accept walk-ins, but make sure to dress warmly in winter, as they only have patio dining.The menu has a variety of dishes to suit every taste, but my personal favorite is the mushroom flan. It is creamy, savory, and simply delicious. I also enjoyed the milanese veal, which was tender and crispy. The smoky old-fashioned cocktail and the roccotta olive oil spread for the fresh bread were also amazing. And of course, I could not resist their lasagne, which was rich and satisfying.Ciccia Osteria is my new go-to place for Italian food in San Diego. I can’t wait to go back and try more of their dishes. “We had a reservation, we ordered an appetizer, pizza and salad, all came out at the same time quite quickly, and while they were very attentive to our table we felt like we were being kicked out around the 1 hour mark so it was not as relaxing or paced out as we typically prefer. Great bread, pesto and marinara! Good burrata and pizza for 2, would recommend!“
“I had the best 2 meals of my trip at Thanh Tinh Chay! I got diagnosed with celiac disease 3 years ago and haven’t had great Vietnamese food since, but this place is incredible. Every single thing is vegan and gluten free, but you would never know because it is all so flavorful and delicious. As I was eating the Banh Mi sandwich I couldn’t believe the bread was gluten free, but our lovely server confirmed that it was a homemade recipe that took over 2 years to perfect. Many other items are made from scratch in house as well! The customer service is phenomenal as well, everyone is so kind and we were treated to complimentary desserts which were to die for! Especially the creme brûlée! I wish I lived in San Diego so I could eat here weekly, but I’ll be back every time I visit!“

“There are so many things I love about Ultreya. It's legitimately my favorite spot to grab a treat, and I must admit I do that quite often. This place has San Diego vibes all over it for me. Aside from great friendly down to earth service and ownership, they have a good menu of healthy drinks and treats, some even inspired by san diego herself. I first fell in love with their lavender latte with macadamia nut milk. Yes. MACADAMIA NUT MILK. Chai latte with lavender was the next evolution of drink order and now I am all about their matcha latte. Their butterfly effect is earthy and grounding. They also have VEGAN PASTRIES, and right now I can't get enough of their babkas. While you're waiting for your order you can browse their little local business corner where you can find candles, tarot cards, stickers, essential oils, clothes, and more. They also have another corner that hosts a book sharing shelf. This place is my favorite place to do computer work, good internet connection and outlets spread out, and there is always space inside and if you want to enjoy the sunshine, they have outdoor tables and seating (patio furniture new addition). I wish they were open til later since i'm a late starter and can't get enough of this place. but i know there is more that goes into this decision. I'm just grateful they are still here post pandemic and constantly growing as a business.“

Sometimes it’s hard to find good food that I can eat out and serve my family. “I am not a vegan, but I don’t eat red meat. Every now and then I really crave a burger! Their burger was soooooo delicious and juicy and the pretzel bun was a huge plus. I also had their jalapeño corn dog and which was tasty but HUUGE so I recommend sharing! The animal style fries there were also a large portion and SOOO good I’ve been thinking about them since! Don’t sleep on this food truck, they’re amazing!!!!!!“

“Still great food but a much smaller menu in their new location. I haven't found a single menu item I wouldn't have again. A variety of vegan food items are available with quick service. The ONLY downside is the LOCATION with a small, cramped parking lot. Narrow parking slots with multiple businesses make parking a serious challenge. Only saw one handicap parking spot available.“
“The tuna flower cups were the most insane thing I’ve eaten in a long time. I haven’t had fish in over a decade and so I can’t be trusted really when I say “wow that tastes just like fish!” But my fish eating partner had the same reaction as well. Do not miss that dish! The chicken satay appetizer was also amazing, haven’t had something like that before. Also got the spring rolls and the tangerine chicken dish. The waiter was attentive and really nice, helped us out with our different allergies and restrictions.“

“What a charming spot! Visited on a leisurely Saturday afternoon and were seated right away. Ordering at the counter was a breeze, and then we chose our own cozy spot. The selection of kombucha on tap caught my eye, though they also offer beer and wine.We indulged in the Tokyo fries, bahn mi, and tom kah soup. For dinks they had coffee, regular kombucha, and hemp infused kombucha. (There were probably more options but that's what I saw)Both flavors of the hemp infused kombucha were delicious. That was my first time having hemp kombucha and it totally relaxed my mind and body. I ordered 2 Jamaican patties cabbage & tofu. I had to wait a while because they were being made fresh. When they came out both were so delicious they were seasoned, soft, flaky, and had the right amount of spice. My picky 5 year old loved the tofu patty. This is the best cafe I've ever been to. “Note: This is a food stand that pops up at places, not sure if the physical address they list on their website actually serves food. Finally got to try this at the Vegan Oktoberfest at First Friday Night Market at Grossmont Center, my wife and I wanted to this it out when they had their weekly pop up at Sepentine Cider but that ended before we had a chance to get down there. Food was very tasty, they do a great job of creating a vegan alternative to Chinese food that looks legit and has the very similar flavors and textures, less the meat! We tried the Gua Bao Buns first, PERFECT! Not sure how they do it, but these look like almost like real pork belly, and flavors and textures were great! Definitely took the spotlight because this is a dish you wouldn't normally expect to look and taste this good. We also had the Sweet & Sour Pork, super tasty also, but it's a type of food that is more expected at a stand like this. So glad we finally got to try it, definitely worth it and will keep an eye out for their next pop up.“
