“This is one of our favorite places to take friends when they come to visit. We took our parents last night, and it was perfect. The patio is the best place (I think) to enjoy a meal and the buzz of La Mesa. We happened to come when they were doing an outdoor street concert. The energy was perfect!
Our favorite thing to order is the La Reina molcajete. It's cheesy deliciousness and we ended up eating our leftovers for days. We tried the La Jefa version last night. Still very good and plenty for two people. I love all the fun cocktails you can order, and the service is exactly what you'd expect for a CRG restaurant - friendly and attentive.
Restrooms are clean, there is plenty of parking behind the restaurant, and the food is wonderful.“

I shared part of the California Burrito with my brother as it has become his favorite now. It was huge and stuffed with meat. It's not a fancy place, but has delicious food and nice employees. “My wife and I have lived in LA for the past year and have tried countless taco carts across the city. On our way out of California, we stopped in La Mesa at Señor Taquero Taco Shop — and ended up having the best tacos we’ve ever eaten.

Ron is an incredibly friendly guy, and his food is on another level. We ordered cabeza, lengua, fish, and shrimp tacos, and every single one was amazing. The lengua especially was the best we’ve had anywhere — tender, flavorful, perfect.

He even gave us tripa to try for free, and it completely blew us away. It wasn’t fried like most places do; instead, it was soft, rich, and delicious. Truly exceptional.

As we leave California, this ended up being the perfect final meal — unforgettable food and a great experience. Highly recommend this spot to anyone passing through La Mesa. Ron, thank you!“

“The first time I visited the taco shop. I ordered the ground beef roll tacos, it was an option for small ones or big ones I order big ones and they were delicious. Taco shops rarely sell a ground beef roll taco. The service was pleasent and the food is a good price. I will be returning soon.“

“Love Sombrero Catering! It is such a great deal to feed a crowd and of course, the best Mexican food so everyone loves it. And we didn't have to cook. We got party platters and they were a hit plus Sombrero delivered them for us. The enchiladas are the best, that sauce! We also got carnitas, beans, rice and all the fixings plus chips and the BEST SALSA ever! YUM! We brought a few party platters to friends over the holidays too. It is always a hit. “Stopped by for some lunch and got an incredible California burrito. Under $15 and a ~5 minute wait, the value and convenience were already notable.

The burrito itself was huge. Each bite was clean, a little bit of everything. The fries had a distinct crisp, the meat was tender and not chewy, the guac was good, both sauces were excellent, and it was seasoned well but not overly salty.

Plenty of indoor seating and the TV wasn’t insanely loud (pet peeve of mine!). Parking was straightforward but I can see it being tough during a lunch rush in this small lot.“

Flan is also very flavorful as well! Restrooms are located outside, and they have a drive through available as well.“

“My husband and I ordered burritos on her day off and they were unacceptable. I called for a refund and the “person in charge” gave us the run around and told us he couldn’t give us a refund. We had the food, uneaten by the way, with the receipt and he said the manager isn’t ever there and he would leave my name and number for them to call me back; they never did. Thankfully Cesia was there today and was very understanding, apologetic and professional as always. She took great care of us and we left with a smile. Thank you so much Cesia!
