“INCREDIBLE, authentic, all-vegan Mexican food, tucked inside the Grossmont food court. Don’t let the location dissuade you — this is one of the best vegan spots in all of San Diego. The flavors and textures are on point and you can tell every dish is hecho con amor. Large portions and great customer service, too!Vegetarian options: All vegan!“
“Best breakfast burrito in San Diego, no contest. Everything we’ve had here is delicious (tortas, burritos, tacos, rolled tacos), but their breakfast burritos with bacon and potatoes are something special—along with the salsas and hot sauces they make. Everyone is super friendly and welcoming, we’re lucky to be close enough to visit the guys and eat here often!“
“While it is not an authentic Mexican restaurant, it has very good food and tortillas. The excess of yellow cheese on top of everything is a bit of a put off, also the excess of cumin tastes a bit off.The food is still great. I recommend carne a la Tampiqueña and the Camarones with Carne asada. The shrimp cocktail is also superb. It tastes like the ones from Mexico City.Highly recommend.“
“Going to this place is a must! Very friendly service and great environment. The owner is usually there to greet us every time we go there. The food is delicious and tastes fresh.I have tried many delicious plates but my favorite dish is menudo. I just love menudo and they make it very good.I would give this place 10 starts if I could.“
“Great salsa great food! ? Great customer service. Very welcoming, and accommodating. This family run small business raises the bar for customer service and fits perfectly into the neighborhood that surround it.Parking: In a shared business complex but parking is always readily availableKid-friendliness: Small family run restaurant, family and child Friendly.Wheelchair accessibility: Wheelchair accessible“
“Had never been here, we were just walking around looking for a coffee place, when we found this lil place , as soon as we walked the aroma was delicious, so we ordered the huevos ranchero and chilaquiles verdes. They were beyond what we expected. Very tasty and fulfilling. The plates are pretty big. And service is good. Definitely will recommend and come back.“
“Another little rough diamond of a Mexican eatery. Also has soyrizo veggie meat replacement burritos for vegetarians! It’s pretty barebones, but I requested to have it cooked with habanero sauce. I’m sure you could ask for pico or other additions.Quite clean and cheerful space with seating. Worth a try if you like good food surprises, 4.5 stars out of 5!Vegetarian options: Pretty much only soyrizo but that’s more than most. Fries and the like too.“
“Ordered from their food cart at a brewery in La Mesa.We had tacos and mullitas. Customer service was GREAT and the food was amazing! Flavored so well and I love all the salsa and topping options. With all the options of tacos in San Diego this is a great place to choose!“
“Absolutely delicious! High quality ingredients, perfectly seasoned. I have a family member at Alvarado and was hungry glad I stopped in for a huge and satisfying burrito . The carne asada is tender and flavorful, love the free chips as well! “
“This is definitely a hidden gem of La mesa. Breakfast burritos are delicious and not greasy. They are so stingy though on hot sauce. Which doesn’t make sense because if you die there, you get access to the entire bottle. But they do not give more than four tiny hot sauces for 1 burrito. One of the tiny hot sauce containers is enough for two bites of a burrito.“
“I love this place. My boyfriend and I live down the street and go at least monthly, sometimes even more. Their potato tacos are chefs kiss. Their jalapeño salsa is also amazing. We never have to wait long and the young cashier is always so friendly when we go in. Their prices are also super affordable! We love this place.“
“We live nearby, less than 2 miles away and this was our first time visiting. It was taco Tuesday and I saw they had $1.85 street tacos (price as of 2/6/24). Options were chicken, carne asada, and adobada. I had one of each and they were amazing !We ate there and enjoyed really tasty chips and salsa while the tacos were being made. The pictures of all the music artists on the wall were so fun to look at and the music was also really nostalgic. Also, the staff was so helpful and friendly. Some places make you feel rushed and this really felt inviting.I had 3 tacos and my fiance had 4. It was the perfect amount for each of us for dinner. But at $1.85 each, get as many as you want!We had the chipotle crema salsa and the habanero salsa. Both were excellent. Habanero salsa wasn’t overly spicy, despite it looking like their hottest salsa.I’m excited to come here for other items too. Their breakfast burritos , quesadillas , and tortas also all look amazing. We’re so lucky to have this gem in our neighborhood. I highly suggest coming by and getting a meal if you’re in the area.“
“Discovered Patty's Cafe Today Very clean and inviting! Prices are competitive. Wide variety of menu items. Old fashioned breakfast which we don't have enough of around here. Mexican American, Greek options for lunch and dinner too. Best news! They don't put sausage in their country gravy!!! They will on request though. They do not disappoint. Try it for yourself“
“My fiancé and I went to casa Gabriela for our anniversary this weekend on their first day of brunch opening! It was a risk as we didn't know what to expect but they exceeded our expectations! The service was amazing and we were wished a happy anniversary several times. They were very attentive even as if got busier throughout the morning. The food was great, I really appreciate the concept and delivery of the food, I think they mixed American classics with Mexican classics very well. Overall a great experience and I will make it a point to visit whenever I visit San Diego!“
“I stopped in for a quick bite and was super happy of my choice. Caritas, and a adobada taco. Both perfectly seasoned too. I returned later that day for a surf and turf burrito. Adobada and shrimp ❤️❤️. This will be your favorite taco spot.“
“First time coming here, had no idea what to expect. Gilberto made us feel right at home. He was super attentive and communicative. He even offered to take my wife and I some pictures. The food was amazing but the service Gilberto provided us was better. Definitely recommend!“
“What a great surprise! We were in the area and needed lunch. We got carne asada burrito, mixed burrito, carne asada tacos, cheese enchilada and a carne asada quesadilla. All were amazing! Meat was tasty and the sauce for the enchilada was delicious. We will be back!“
“This place was okay as far as Mexican food goes. It's definitely not a bad place. The place was clean and we were seated right away. The service was excellent and slow. Not crowded at all. May be since this place is sort of tucked away and not visible. I enjoyed the food but there wasn't much flavor profile to it.“
“Delicious! Stopped here because it had some great reviews on Yelp. My daughter and I each ordered the carne asada burritos. They normally come with pico de gallo and guacamole. We ordered one that way and another one with guacamole and cheese, no pico. The man who took our order was very customer service oriented and he was helpful when we asked questions. We waited about 6 minutes and our order was ready. I opted for green salsa and we took our food home.We ran into traffic, so it was longer than 15min drive. The great news was that the burritos were still hot and delicious when we ate them...in the car! We are definitely coming back to this place. This is definitely a new Mexican food spot on our list. And, they have BIRRIA here!“
“There is only one flaw in most taco shops, sauce and incl. sour cream, guacamole, and potatoes on only one half, not the entire length of the burrito. Well, in general, the California burrito was of excellent quality. Everything was hot inside, the right “
“Love Sombrero Catering! It is such a great deal to feed a crowd and of course, the best Mexican food so everyone loves it. And we didn't have to cook. We got party platters and they were a hit plus Sombrero delivered them for us. The enchiladas are the best, that sauce! We also got carnitas, beans, rice and all the fixings plus chips and the BEST SALSA ever! YUM! We brought a few party platters to friends over the holidays too. It is always a hit. Thank you Sombrero Mexican Food! We will be back soon.“
“Villas Mexican Food is super good and also very fast service! I highly recommend this place for a bite to eat if the other food places are busy! They have super cheap food and also Taco Tuesday! The staff is super nice and food is always super hot and fresh! Thank you to the staff here for amazing service!Parking: Huge parking lot“
“The first time I visited the taco shop. I ordered the ground beef roll tacos, it was an option for small ones or big ones I order big ones and they were delicious. Taco shops rarely sell a ground beef roll taco. The service was pleasent and the food is a good price. I will be returning soon.“
“They have great carnitas and good service. My partner and I ordered a carnitas torta (it came with beans, cheese, carnitas, tomato, lettuce, and guacamole.) I thought it was a little disappointing that it came with American cheese instead of panela or queso fresco, though. Their fries are battered and they are amazing! So crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. Another sad note: their aguas are not freshly made, they come from a soda fountain.“
“I absolutely love the way they cook the food. It is delicious. I cannot get enough of it. The staff is absolutely wonderful no matter what time of day I go is so friendly. Haven’t had a bad person there at all. The food is just out of this world.“
“Went for the brunch and it was clear they were understaffed, which is understandable but to be made to feel like a bother is not. It is very loud as seating is very close together. Brunch is a good deal, so will try again hopefully with a better outcome.Parking: Had to park across a busy street. Playing frogger before dinner not so bad, but after dinner required expert level.“
“My family and I have been going to Por Favor for over 20 years. The food is always good, the Cadillac Margarita even better! Everything they serve here is amazing (I've tried most of it). But my favorites include El Bandito and La Grande. The enchiladas are savory and the Chile Relleno is really good. For dessert though, you have to try the Deep Fried Ice Cream! Or if that's not your thing a Bunuelos!“
“The people who work at Cilantro's are always friendly and helpful. Especially Tracy and Alejandra. The food is fabulous with large servings.Kid-friendliness: Kids are always welcome.Wheelchair accessibility: No problem with accessibility.Dietary restrictions: They remember that my food must be sin queso, without cheese. I don't have to remind them.“
“My husband and I went to this place for a date night on Sunday, from the moment we arrived the staff was very friendly and attentive. We both ordered margaritas which were delicious. We ordered the egg rolls, masa dumplings, duck fried rice, Brussels sprouts, scallop skewers, and 2oz A5 wagyu. The meat was amazing! So buttery and delicious. All the food was delicious, we over ordered but I have no regrets because it was so hard to decide what not to get. The portions were decent size and everything came out quickly. I felt like the prices were reasonable for the quality and amount of food we received. We will be going back with some friends so we can order more items next time.“
