“I like this place the portions are hugh, i wished they used better meat for there carne asada. The last burrito i got was a California burrito the meat was like chewing on leather for 17 dollars yes 17 dollars for one burrito you should be able to chew it. Hopefully they step up they're quality of beef and then they will be the best place in town“
“Cotijas is my go-to for killer food and exceptional service. Not just because they're close because there's another good Mexican food place closer. The surf and turf and rolled fish tacos are to die for and they have a great salsa bar to choose from.“
“Excellent food, always fresh and very friendly service. My favorite taco shop in San Diego. To the gentleman named JD, I checked the sign posted with the hours and all the hours are very clearly written that they close at 8 PM Monday through Saturday.“
“Google has been notifying me to post vids all of a sudden lately for some reason so here it goes lol.Place feels like a peaceful ranchy texas vibe, with friendly customer service. I ordered an el rancho plate, costed $15. I'm a meaty person so I added carne asada meat on the side for another $9, kind of expensive really for a plate like this to be almost $25. Next time I'd just order a Cali or fries plate with maybe rancho sauce on top? End of day, Place was delicious, and that was what mattered most.“
“Great service and consistency. This is the most reasonably priced taco shop in town. One of my favorites is their fish burrito. Nice white meat fish that's never fishy, cabbage, white sauce and a little pico for 8 bucks. The Machaca is pretty good also.“
“Their handmade corn tortillas are so amazing. They also have one of the best bean and cheese burritos in town. I love their fish tacos and their carne asada tacos. The service is always friendly and my order is ready when they say it will be. 50 percent off all tacos in Tuesday as well!!“
“This new-ish (open less than a year) Roberto's in Santee is located on the edge of our neighborhood. We don't even have to take a major thoroughfare to get to it. We become victims of habit when it comes to our to-go Mexican food. We finally remembered this place. Located in the corner of a 7/11 anchored strip mall on the corner of Cuyamaca and Mast, on a hill. The parking lot can get a bit messy at times. The 7/11 has a gas station which makes the entry/exit a little more difficult. I called to place our order for pick-up. (I'm not going to deduct a star because their website sucks). The girl who I spoke with was pleasant. She said my order would be ready in five minutes. Perfect. It takes two to get there from our house. For Becky it was the Carne Asada Plate with flour tortillas. I chose the Carnitas Plate (no guac) with corn tortillas. I also ordered a Fish Taco for myself. The carne asada was very, very good. Seasoned well and tender. No fatty or gristly chunks. Quality carne asada. Served with very good refried beans and rice. Excellent flour tortillas as well. I loved the carnitas. Lots of big flavorful chunks. Nice and crispy exterior with tender, delicious pork inside. Really good. The corn tortillas were great. The fish taco was fantastic. The perfectly breaded filet filled the doubled-up corn tortillas from end to end. It was nicely dressed with "Baja sauce", pico and cabbage. If you dine in there are a few tables inside and a little 4-seat bar with four tap handles. When I was visited they had Pacifico, Modelo, Sculpin and Coors Light on tap, although no one was manning the bar. I didn't see any pricing, but bottled beers were $3 each. Solid food and super convenient for us. Yep, we're going back.“
“This is my “Go to” Mexican restaurant. I’ve been going there for the around twenty years and I couldn’t see me going elsewhere for breakfast, lunch and dinner. The owner is the kindest person I’ve ever known and his employees seem like they all are close family members. The food there is so Badass and I’m getting hungry thinking about them. Why go to TJ? Estrada’s brings its authentic Mexican food to us and not to exclude the other two Estrada’s in Santee. I personally think Mario should run for Mayor here in Santee!!! I wished he lived next door to my house. ? Thank you Mario and Estrada’s in Santee! God bless you all!!! Keep it up! ❤️????“
“This is as good as it gets. As good as the Birria I have had in Mexico. In some ways better. The chef is an old Mexican man who has been cooking birria for 40 years using a family recipe and special cuts of beef, along with extraction of the bone (bone broth) and the right kind of more expensive Guajillo chile....The corn tortillas were really fresh, the rice excellent, with vegetables in it, and the beans perfect. On top if it the owner is really friendly and kind.Highly recommended! Thanks!“
“This place is legit! Mexican food in San Diego is something special to start with, this place does not disappoint. Take a seat and order a margarita first. It's one of the places where I know I can order a house Rita and be happy with it. But the food is why I'm there. It's not often I can get great food and margarita, this places breaks that rule wide open. I love their red enchilada sauce, especially on a wet burrito. Marita's, I'll see you next week!!!“
“Just a few days ago was my first experience here and no doubt not my last. I expected low quality considering the location and the fact that nobody local has been talking about it lately, but I was very pleasantly surprised when the quality was amazing. I usually choose Bad Hombres because of its local popularity but I may start choosing this instead.. Very good experience and recommended to anyone that needs a new favorite Mexican restaurant.“
“I had heard about Soriana's and considering how many taco shops we gave in Santee, I was curious how this one compared. So I ordered Carne Asada chips and a carnitas taco. Food 5 stars- chips were crispy and fresh, serving size was pretty big, carnitas was the perfect blend of crispy and soft. Both items were freshly prepared and flavorful with presentation in actual dishes- plate and bowl. Service 5 Stars - after placing my order I sat to wait and considering this is a taco shop I was surprised when my order was brought to my table not just called from the counter. Atmosphere was typical decor for a taco shop. Along with a moderate amount of seating for large or small groups. TV was on but at a reasonable level of volume. The tables, floors and countertops were all clean. Self serve soda station, refills don't include Agua frescas- that's customary. I didn't take a bunch of pics because there were other customers. I tried to find something wrong but all was 5 star. The counter at the soda station has a repair but that didn't affect my visit-the flaws were only cosmetic. I will eat here again.Parking: Location is in a shopping center with open / free parking. Plenty of spots to choose from.Kid-friendliness: Menu options seem to be kid friendly and modifications can be made - ie: no Pico“
“I stopped in at Hilbertos Mexican Food Place for the first time. I was amazed at the large selection of Tortas, Tacos, Mexican Dishes and more. I chose the Beef Taco and Beef Burrito plate for only $11.95. The food was absolutely delicious. It came with rice and refried beans as well. If you enjoy juicy beef burritos you definitely came to the right place. The establishment was clean with great customer service. I definitely would eat here again.“
“I ordered fish and shrimp tacos, prices are reasonable and tacos were delicious. The only reason to not give 5 stars is little less vegetables on tacos as I expected. I eat taco at my fav shop and they put tons of veges on tacos. Line in drive through was long and tacos were fresh and tasty. I have tried other places and fish taco is always hit and miss case. But I loved fish taco here.“
“We had some friends coming over and we wanted something easy for dinner. Becky and I prepared appetizers and side dishes. For our entree we enlisted the help of Estrada's (9630 Carlton Hills Blvd, next toPathways church). We ordered a tray of 12 chicken enchiladas. Bex called in the order around 2:00 for a 4:00 pick up. It was around $50. When I arrived at 4:00 they weren't quite ready which was fine by me, that meant they were fresh. And they were. After about seven minutes or so I was handed a huge tin pan full of fat chicken enchiladas. So fat, in fact, only nine fit in the tin. He had to put three in a Styrofoam clam shell container. I also received a large container of shredded lettuce and another full of shredded cheddar and Monterrey jack cheeses. Along with a grip of different flavor/heat levels of salsas. Easy-peasy. Once home, we tossed them into the oven to keep them warm until it was time to serve. They were fantastic enchiladas. Stuffed with shredded chicken. They were much bigger than the enchiladas you receive if you order a two enchilada plate off of the regular menu. We loved them and our guests loved them as well.“
“It was good and friendly service although the server said he had many wives and didn’t know what they wanted from him. I found that remark a little bit weird but moving on, I guess it is true that this place is very good, as their food was great and the atmosphere was nice.“
“Food was so good!! The tacos and quesabirrias were savory, salsas were delicious too. Watch out with the Serrano peppers because they have a nice kick. If you have not tried this Mexican food truck yet, I definitely recommend it because you're missing out on some good plates. Will definitely come back here for more when I'm in the area, this small business has my support. Great service.“
“Long, long overdue review. Everytime I come here, everyone is friendly and efficient. The order is always spot on accurate and they never forget things like utensils or the extra dressing I ask for. I actually meant to give this review a few weeks ago, even told the employee at the window that I'd be leaving a stellar review but I lag. While I can't speak for the ambience (as I always go through the drive through), I'm sure everything is clean, organized and welcoming inside as well. Again, excellent service, excellent speed and accuracy.“
“This Rubios is very hit and miss for food quality. Sometimes, the food is on point, fresh and delicious. Other times (like last night), the fish is soggy, and chicken is cold. The Mexican street corn only comes in one size container, which used to be about 3/4 full. The last couple of times I ordered it, it was only about 1/4 full... no exaggeration. So at this Rubios, I never know what to expect. I think for the price, they could do a little better.“
“As this is my second review, you may take my review with a grain of salt. Although, I do have to say the food here is great. I’ve tried three of their burritos so far and have visited the place 4 times within the last nine months. The Super California (called surf and turf at competitor shops), which contains shrimp, is one of the best burritos I’ve had so far. Great food and atmosphere is what you expect at a taco shop.“
