“It has been a decade or more since I've visited Sombrero. I used to live in the area. I stopped nearby and almost went in to visit. I was crunched for time so I chose not to eat here. Just being in front brought back many great memories.“

I ordered the chilawuiles and didn't care for them they doused them in sour cream it jsut was not good. All the other food I have had was so good.“

“Had the fish tacos on Friday at the bar because my buddy is having walking issues as it turns out it was a good call had the patron Cadillac margaritas with a double gray goose vodka neat on the side 👌 the tacos were top notch our server Deanna was on point friendly and not to mention she's GORGEOUS!! Going back for the Sunday Buffet everything put out is always delicious but my favorite is the menudo!! I guess I'll hover around that bowl 🥣 do your self a favor go there and enjoy you won't be sorry“

Salsa was tasty and ran legit hot. Yummy marinated carrots 🥕 onions 🌰 jalapeño + peppers 🌶.

“One of the best flavors for taco shops in town. Food quality is amazing and the hot sauce selection is incredible. Only giving 4 stars because the cost of items don't match the portions. I never see this place very busy and I'm sure that attributes to what I'm seeing. Still a great place to go and the owner is extremely nice. I have never seen him take a day off.“

“I have been eating there every night this last week do to work as I am staying in a hotel for work nearby. The mixed of food that I purchased has been Outstanding. The flavor, the freshness the overall flavor has been spot on. The size of the burritos a pound maybe 1.5 pounds will fill you up. The Steak and Egg Burrito is the BOMB if your hungry you wont be after eating this bad boy!!!! Good crew working there Clean facility just a smidge off the street you sorta have to look for it but its worth it dont fail your appetite!!!!“

“Nice local spot in El Cajon of E. Main St. Mia was our server she was very sweet, kind, and took our order patiently.. I ordered the Ramen Birria, and two Quesobirrias. My friend got the menudo and two Quesobirrias all the food was delicious and definitely will be going back. Nice local gem of El Cajon.“

“This restaurant felt like you were sitting down for dinner at a friend’s Abuela’s house warm, welcoming, and full of amazing homemade flavor. The Molcajete Special was absolutely incredible, packed with flavor and more than enough food to leave you full and happy. The red enchilada sauce had the perfect savory flavor with just a hint of sweetness that made it unforgettable.

Javy was one of the most pleasant servers we’ve had in a long time and took such great care of us throughout the meal. Highly recommend stopping in for a meal if you’re looking for authentic food and a welcoming atmosphere!“

“I was looking for small business coffee shop and my co-teachers told me about Maria's Coffee Shop. I got a Iced Mazapan Latte and a chicken tamale! OMG they are both delicious. I couldn't take a picture of tamale because I ate too fast lol. Definitely recommended and will be back.“

“I had a trio of street tacos from this taqueria. Two tacos, especially Jr. and one taco Azteca, each for $3.49 a piece.

The tacos came on homemade corn tortillas. The especial jr. tacos came with carne asada, panela cheese, white and red onions, and a green salsa. The carne asada was tasty, perhaps a little heavy on the salt, but the meat offered that very good smoky grilled flavor that you get from grilling meat over and open flame with either wood or charcoal. Good tacos, and I loved the addition of the Mexican panela cheese.

The Azteca taco came with the same tasty carne asada, but also came with grilled nopales or cactus, white and red onions, and I was told it came with queso fresco, too, but non was applied to the taco. It was a very flavorful taco, nevertheless. The cactus was well prepared.

The service was friendly. They don't have a salsa bar, so you have to ask for salsa. The red one that I had was very good. There's plenty of inside seating.“

Convenient location that is always clean and has friendly staff. The salsa bar has always been clean, but it is frequently low in one salsa or another. Despite this, the staff is always quick to provide the missing salsa.“

“It’s been a while since I’ve been here. Me and my buddy came here and wanted to try a lot of food. We started off surf n turf burrito which was spectacular. They ask you if you want Mexican guac ( pure avocado ) or American guac ( avocado & sour cream mixed ). The shrimp is marinated and the asada is fresh and tasty ! Then we shared the hot Cheeto carne asada fries. After that we each shared a half of carne asada torta ! Very delicious. Last item was a carne asada quesadilla supreme which was loaded ! We sat outside and enjoy the beautiful weather. Our cashier was helpful in telling us what to order. Definitely coming back here“

“Delicious tacos! My favorite happens to be the cabeza tacos- especially because not all Mexican food restaurants have cabeza. Food portions are good and prices are slightly cheaper on average compared to other places. Food is also very consistent pretty much every time!“

“I've been here several times and every time they get my order wrong...Human error is acceptable, being ripped off is NOT acceptable...I ordered 3 potato rolled tacos which are $3.99, I asked for Cilantro & onions instead of lettuce w/the included guacamole on the side, and the included cheese...I got 3 rolled tacos with Cilantro & onions, no guacamole or cheese?!? (They come with cheese, my receipt says NO CHEESE when I specified I wanted it) What I was CHARGED for was 3 beef rolled tacos w/potato which isn't even a thing, for $5.69...on top of that I ordered fries which the menu states are $2.99 but was charged $3.99, extra crispy was extra limp and undercooked...if that wasn't bad enough, they screwed me for another .50 for a credit card fee...NEVER will I go back & yes I definitely will dispute the charge because this isn't ok...Taco Azul is better (I was in a hurry and Taco Azul doesn't have a drive thru) and they ALWAYS get the order right, both food and cost, they have my business from now on...I support small business but these types of actions need to be made public because most small businesses are infinitely honest so the ones who aren't need to go bye bye...“

Only complaint I have is the fact that the burritos literally only come with the meat and cheese. I don’t understand that. So after I added all the normal burrito ingredients the price was SO high.
