Going back for the Sunday Buffet everything put out is always delicious but my favorite is the menudo!! The flavor, the freshness the overall flavor has been spot on. The size of the burritos a pound maybe 1.5 pounds will fill you up. The Steak and Egg Burrito is the BOMB if your hungry you wont be after eating this bad boy!!!! “This restaurant felt like you were sitting down for dinner at a friend’s Abuela’s house warm, welcoming, and full of amazing homemade flavor. The Molcajete Special was absolutely incredible, packed with flavor and more than enough food to leave you full and happy. The red enchilada sauce had the perfect savory flavor with just a hint of sweetness that made it unforgettable.

Javy was one of the most pleasant servers we’ve had in a long time and took such great care of us throughout the meal. Highly recommend stopping in for a meal if you’re looking for authentic food and a welcoming atmosphere!“

“Tacos were good. Adobada had good charred flavor and so did asada. Had the regular size tacos. Portion was good. Red salsa was good, spicy but not overpowering. They have a few Arizona tea flavors. Not much interaction with workers, but that's ok. I would come back. Noise level, they had music playing but it was loud enough to hear yet low enough so you can have a conversation at your table at nirmal level.“

“I've been here several times and every time they get my order wrong...Human error is acceptable, being ripped off is NOT acceptable...I ordered 3 potato rolled tacos which are $3.99, I asked for Cilantro & onions instead of lettuce w/the included guacamole on the side, and the included cheese...I got 3 rolled tacos with Cilantro & onions, no guacamole or cheese?!? (They come with cheese, my receipt says NO CHEESE when I specified I wanted it) What I was CHARGED for was 3 beef rolled tacos w/potato which isn't even a thing, for $5.69...on top of that I ordered fries which the menu states are $2.99 but was charged $3.99, extra crispy was extra limp and undercooked...if that wasn't bad enough, they screwed me for another .50 for a credit card fee...NEVER will I go back & yes I definitely will dispute the charge because this isn't ok...Taco Azul is better (I was in a hurry and Taco Azul doesn't have a drive thru) and they ALWAYS get the order right, both food and cost, they have my business from now on...I support small business but these types of actions need to be made public because most small businesses are infinitely honest so the ones who aren't need to go bye bye...“

“Came back to El Cajon from Texas and was craving some CA Mexican food. I tried Ponchos and loved the food. I had the Surf and Turf burrito and the wife had potato rolled tacos. The food was good and hit that spot that only CA Mexican food can.“

Only complaint I have is the fact that the burritos literally only come with the meat and cheese. I don’t understand that. So after I added all the normal burrito ingredients the price was SO high. Paid $37 for 2 burritos and a cheese quesadilla“

“This place is under-rated, even if it's rated a 4.0 & higher. The attitudes and interactions with the employees is top notch, like a 5 star restaurant, they're always smiling and taking orders with a passion!! 1 day I drove by it in the middle of the week, after work around midnight, I noticed it had a decent sized line and was thinking I'll check it out. When 1st driving up it reminds you of the old school Taco place, with the menu posted on the walls, it has a little of grungy look, but for the most part everyone outside and around it do not bother you. I ordered at drive-thru a Cabeza quesadilla, Adobada fries & Texas Burrito, when I received my order, it was heavy and I was thinking maybe I got the wrong order or they may have put something extra besides the condiments in the bag. I got home opened it up and to my surprise, there was some heavy portions!! The price of the food is pretty much the same as other local shops, however the portion size was crasy!! I've ordered on a few other occasions since my 1st visit and the portion sizes are consistent, with lots of meat, veggies, sauce and extras, so now I know each time what to expect, as well as 1 meal may take me 2-4 days to finish!! There's a drive up window, a walk up window, a few tables for outdoor seating, no indoor seating and maybe parking depending on the time of day you go there. Mind you I'm a 300 pound man and I'm still having to save some of my food for my next meal!!“
