“Their carne asada fries are to die for always enough for two. I get mine extra cheese no sour cream (I don't like it).
They never disappoint.!!
Sorry I don't have a photo I ate them before I left this review.
Next time.“

“Authentic Mexican food Mexico City style ?a gem in El Cajón.
We had seen this place but had not had the opportunity to visit it and we liked it a lot. In a few words: Delicious food, good atmosphere, good service and attention; and very affordable prices.
We tried the pambazo, the al pastor tacos, the head and the sope. Everything was very delicious and with a 100% homemade Mexican flavor, but for us the star dish was the sope (they give you a choice of several stews) the dough with which it was prepared was very soft and at the same time crunchy. And the hibiscus water we ordered was very fresh and not as sweet and cloying as other places.
The decoration of the place is authentic Mexican and very colorful. You have to eat outside and inside.
And for us the most important thing was the prices since right now everything is very expensive. We were especially surprised given the quality of the service and food.
It is a place we will definitely return to and recommend to anyone who wants to enjoy authentic Mexican food.“

“This place is a chain and an amazing one for that matter. It's not the best Taco shop but it's so solid and consistent with great food that whenever I see one I'm excited and already know I'm going to get great southern California Taco shop food. San Diego is lucky to have them...I wish they made it out to some other states. Also the price is always great. You are not going to break your bank here.“

“Wow! Fresh made chips, all food DELICIOUS! The spicy cucumber margarita, don't miss this succulent beverage. Service was fast, prices were good. Bathrooms run down but reasonable. This is a big place so lots of cars in lot at weekend dinner and we still got right in. Yum!“

“Been coming here for years! They have the best breakfast burritos I’ve ever had, and I’ve tried quite a few places around the area and they don’t quite hit just like this place does! Make sure you ask for fries instead of hashbrowns. It’s amazing. ?“

“5:45 am Sunday Oct.20th, 2024. Laura who had worked all night greeted us with a smile and kindness. Who could ever ask for more? Two great Breakfast burritos to get us on the road from San Diego to Los Angeles was all we needed! Sombreros is so consistent, even before 6 AM.

“People here have great attitude. Cook is cracking jokes as soon as you walk in. Carne asada fries where amazing and the portion was enough to feed one person and then some. Prices are also affordable. 15$ for carne asada fries is reasonable considering my the portion. Way better than Tapatíos who charged me 20$ for the same. Definitely recommend El Cotixan. Green salsa is mild and red is a little spicier. Great experience overall!“

“Amazing taqueria. Really enjoyed the carne asada wet burrito, was HUGE. Vastly underestimated the portions and ordered too much. The carnitas and the cabeza are where it’s at here. Real friendly folks behind the counter and kitchen. Big recommend.“

“This place is so delicious. I’ve been coming here for like 20 years. It still taste all the same if not better. 5 rolled tacos with guacamole and a carne asada burrito no sour cream… lots of salsa cucumbers carrots omg such a great flavor. Unfortunately I moved to Los Angeles with my pops. Pops is the best the unfortunately is there isn’t a La posta arrrr. My mother lives in San Diego so that’s the first stop issssssss LA POSTA. A++++++++++++ Hands down……“

“I had the Bandido burrito and it was good. A large burrito and somewhat worth the price. The burrito came out pretty quickly as well and I was given plenty of sauce. The green sauce is tangy, the right kind of flavor, but a little bit watery.I didn't dine in, but the interior is clean and there's plenty of seating and a TV. Typical Mexican restaurant layout.Prices have gone up, so expect to pay more than pre-pandemic prices. Burritos with more than meat and pico de gallo will cost more than $10 now.
Parking: Lots of convenient parking in front.“

The flavor, the freshness the overall flavor has been spot on. The size of the burritos a pound maybe 1.5 pounds will fill you up. The Steak and Egg Burrito is the BOMB if your hungry you wont be after eating this bad boy!!!! Good crew working there Clean facility just a smidge off the street you sorta have to look for it but its worth it dont fail your appetite!!!!“

“I've been here a few times, as I do laundry a few doors down. I get a bean and cheese burrito everytime. They're portion size is great, the food is always hot and delicious!!! The prices are similar to other Mexican fast food restaurants. They have indoor seating, but it's very warm inside so I've never stayed to eat inside. And soccer in Spanish on the TV isn't appealing to me. I will definitely go here again and I recommend it to anyone in the area or hungry while doing laundry...
Parking: It's a parking lot in a business center. Multiple business's with a large lot for parking. Handicap in front of each business.“

“I had a trio of street tacos from this taqueria. Two tacos, especially Jr. and one taco Azteca, each for $3.49 a piece.
The tacos came on homemade corn tortillas. The especial jr. tacos came with carne asada, panela cheese, white and red onions, and a green salsa. The carne asada was tasty, perhaps a little heavy on the salt, but the meat offered that very good smoky grilled flavor that you get from grilling meat over and open flame with either wood or charcoal. Good tacos, and I loved the addition of the Mexican panela cheese.
The Azteca taco came with the same tasty carne asada, but also came with grilled nopales or cactus, white and red onions, and I was told it came with queso fresco, too, but non was applied to the taco. It was a very flavorful taco, nevertheless. The cactus was well prepared.
The service was friendly. They don't have a salsa bar, so you have to ask for salsa. The red one that I had was very good. There's plenty of inside seating.“

“So the girls & I initially only went for the drinks themed after the Loteria game (which is our thing ? - Millenial Loteria!). We decided to try the food after all. The menu at 1st glance does not seem like they have much to offer but I have to be honest, I was soooo full I could not finish my flat as! They are huge & yummy! I ate 2 of 3, my friend ate a quarter of her Joerrito which is a burrito named after I believe an athlete? My friend knew who ??♀️. The drinks are definitely on point! There were a couple of items that are no longer on the menu but they were kind enough to make for us ❤️ Our server Nico was amazing! If you like & can handle some heat ? try the scallops tostada! OMG! is allnI have to say! We'll be going back for sure ?“

“Very good breakfast burrito. Got the Extreme Breakfast Burrito for $11 and it was worth it. Comes with eggs, bacon, sausage, cheese and sour cream, I had them add guacamole. This fat burrito had a lot of bacon and sausage. Everyone was friendly and the place is very clean and nicely decorated.
Kid-friendliness: Good place to bring kids.

“I've been here several times and every time they get my order wrong...Human error is acceptable, being ripped off is NOT acceptable...I ordered 3 potato rolled tacos which are $3.99, I asked for Cilantro & onions instead of lettuce w/the included guacamole on the side, and the included cheese...I got 3 rolled tacos with Cilantro & onions, no guacamole or cheese?!? (They come with cheese, my receipt says NO CHEESE when I specified I wanted it) What I was CHARGED for was 3 beef rolled tacos w/potato which isn't even a thing, for $5.69...on top of that I ordered fries which the menu states are $2.99 but was charged $3.99, extra crispy was extra limp and undercooked...if that wasn't bad enough, they screwed me for another .50 for a credit card fee...NEVER will I go back & yes I definitely will dispute the charge because this isn't ok...Taco Azul is better (I was in a hurry and Taco Azul doesn't have a drive thru) and they ALWAYS get the order right, both food and cost, they have my business from now on...I support small business but these types of actions need to be made public because most small businesses are infinitely honest so the ones who aren't need to go bye bye...“

“Really cool little taco stand with great service. The food was okay, the guacamole on the rolled tacos had no seasoning or taste other than mashed avocados. The California burrito was good and decently sized for the price. The tostada was the weirdest, it was a tostada sandwich! Decently priced Mexican food, I would maybe go again if I was in the area but I wouldn't go out of my way.“

“Really good flavor!! We got pollo asado burritos and added rice, beans, sour cream and pico. Lots of flavor. Only complaint I have is the fact that the burritos literally only come with the meat and cheese. I don’t understand that. So after I added all the normal burrito ingredients the price was SO high. Paid $37 for 2 burritos and a cheese quesadilla“

Whatever cook you guys have back there at that time deserves a raise, just because I could tell they have a passion for food and delivering great food to whoever orders. The lady upfront was courteous and professional. I’m a restaurant manager, I would steal whoever made my food back there in an instant.“

“I'm on a keto diet, and I appreciate that the cashier didn't even flinch when I asked him I would like a carne asada burrito with no tortilla. He repeated what I asked for, and then he asked if I wanted Pico de gallo because it came with the burrito. I can tell I'm not the only keto diet person that came into his store. I didn't wait longer than 10 minutes. There were other customers in line, but they were all served pretty quickly. I saw the chefs in the kitchen were listening in to the orders and ready to cook.
Dietary restrictions: If you're going keto or carnivore, just ask for either a side of meat, or ask for the burrito without whatever toppings you want to miss out on. It's sin pico de gallo for me.“

“In a town that has tacos shops on practically every other block, this place is a standout. The quality of the food, the awesome customer service, and the insanely extensive and unique salsa bar will have you coming back again and again.
I tried this place a second time after being impressed the first time, wanting to try their poblano burrito (which quite a few others have posted about). Holy. Wow. This burrito was FIRE. You can add steak or shrimp, but I added BOTH, and I added their chipotle cream sauce. It was massive and so delicious. They did not skimp on either the steak or the shrimp, and the burrito's other contents (cheese-stuffed poblanos, rice, beans, and guac) were really generous. Highly, highly recommend Burrito City if you're in the area.“
