We also ordered the French Onion dish that made my eyes roll to the back of my head. Let’s suffice to say I could have just ordered a couple of those French Onion apps and been perfectly content without needing a main dish. Nonetheless, our party ordered the Sea Bass, Chicken and the mushroom pasta dishes as mains. Everyone was happy with their meal and the plating was beautiful as you can see in the pictures. “Whiskers & Wine is a must visit San Diego Destination. They partner with Whiskers without borders and always have a good amount of cats in the lounge, all of which are adoptable. Split up between the front bar entrance, the lounge and the upstairs Catio, there is plenty of space to hangout and play with cats. The cats are all friendly. The food and drink is great as well. They offer flatbreads, kitten tots, sweet potato fries and more. All are great to have to pair with a wine or a cocktail. My favorite cocktails are the perfect Meowtini and the Margarita Fresca (watermelon and mint margarita). Best flatbread is the Turkey pesto hands down. “The All American sliders and shrimp flat bread was spot on as usual but it was their draft beers that were not up to par tonight (not as cold as usual) due to them being slammed earlier leaving them with hot glasses. This is where 100% he saved the day. Zach our server on the fly suggested if he can turn these hot glasses into super cold glasses by super dropping the temperature by filling it up with lots of ice and water and then cleaning the cold glasses and topping it up with there tapped IPA immediately. It was effective and the beers were super drinkable again and delicious. Thank u Zach for being absolutely brilliant, entertaining and most of all taking care of your customers from the bottom of your heart!“

Keeping it short and simple, I rarely ever crave new American cuisine since it's a hit or miss and some are good but most are mediocre with a price tag that isn't palatable, however, Bivouac was a clear exception The chicken sandwich was great, it was juicy and tender on the inside with a nice crispy exterior. The bun was lightly toasted inside and the cheese paired with the arugula and pickled onions were a blissful pair. The pickled onions cut through the fattiness and the arugula added a nice slightly bitter flavor contrast that I enjoyed Food aside, the decor was also well aligned with there themed location next door, the seating we had was a swing in a c-shape and moved all the c-shaped bench together which added a bit of thrill. It felt similar to a childhood experience and felt like one of those swings you'd have in your grandparent's yard or something similar Overall the setting and food were something I would come back to, if the interior was the only hallmark of this place I would likely not come back but the food from everyone I was with seemed to suit their taste buds well and equally fill everyone up“

There might have been some watering down going on.For food we ordered…Mix ‘n’ Match Signature Street Tacos. This was a combination of three tacos served with refried beans, rice, rajas con crema (sliced poblano pepper with cream), cotija cheese, limes.The tacos we selected were:Carnitas, my personal favourite. This consisted of slow roasted pork, guacamole and pico de gallo.Ranchero Shrimp, which was sauteed shrimp, ranchero sauce, cabbage, cilantro and crema.Pollo Asado, which included grilled chicken, guacamole and pico de gallo.Along with this we also had Pollo Asado Fries. “I'm not vegan, but we visited Kindred for brunch because one in our party was vegetarian and we figured this would be a good place to take him. We were able to get a reservation for window seating in advance, choices were standard table or window. The table at the window was a long communal one and as our brunch experience went on, they slowly filled the other seats, trying to space out each party as much as possible, which was nice. For Saturday and Sunday morning, they let us know to only order off the brunch menu. We got the wfflhaus potatoes to share, which came as roasted fingerling potatoes doused heavily in vegan gravy. The gravy was thick and chunky and tasted pretty similar to the real deal. For my entree I got the norm code, which had scrambled vegan eggs, vegan sausage patties, fingerling potatoes, and I chose rice porridge for my side instead of toast. It was my first time having vegan eggs and it definitely tasted just like tofu, the color was a curry bright yellow, so while the attempt was good, it certainly was very different from actual eggs. The "sausage" were pretty tasty as it had all the spices a breakfast sausage would have though I thought it was a bit chewier than meat sausage. It was a decent experience for me for vegan food and I would definitely recommend it as a place to take vegan and vegetarian friends.“
“My wife and I are big fans of all things Tiki and we've been wanting to go to The Luau for awhile now. Last night we finally went and it was so worth it. We were greeted the moment we entered the door. The bar was full so we went to the outside patio which was decorated perfectly with tiki water fountains and vintage longboard surf boards. Our bartender John was amazing and lit the spiral propane heater as it was a bit cold outside. He got us our two Mai Tai drinks (they were amazing by the way)super quick and kept our bowl of Goldfish and pretzels full at all times. John was such an attentive bartender and made sure we always had everything we needed including waters. Mind you it was very busy and he had a lot of other customers to serve but in spite of that he managed to check on us quite often. As the evening got later the inside tiki bar was less crowded and so we went inside. It was decorated so cool and a very warm and friendly atmosphere. We met the other bartender Tony and he was very friendly and attentive as well. Great experience we will definitely be back. Excellent tiki drinks in perfect tiki mugs at a reasonable price.
