We tried the Bavarian pretzel and the veggie pizza (more like foccachia bread), both were good for a quick evening bite. The restaurant is located inside the hotel lobby and has a great holiday vibe with live music and lights!!“

“I stopped for lunch on a business trip. The service and food were great. I had the chicken fajitas for lunch. They provide chips and salsa with before and during the meal.
The only difficulty on stopping here was the parking. It is very limited and street parking is the only accessible option. I had to walk about 4 blocks but will not detour me from visiting again the next time I am in the area. Also I would assume will depend on the time of day that you visit.

“Had this place for lunch. The views of the ocean and hotel are great, I love the vibe. I got the Wahoo Al Pastor sandwich, it was pretty good. We shared the Sunset fries, they were loaded! This is a good place for lunch and drinks while enjoying the beach.“

“Honestly could be considered a bit pricy until you finish your first drink. The bar tenders make some of the best drinks I've ever had and at first they seem to just be heavy on the fruit but about halfway thru you realize they balance the alcohol perfectly so you cant tell that they definitely make them very sturdy for a day at the beach. As for the tacos, I usually end up having several by the end of the day they are just so balanced and flavorful. Good portion size too (I usually get several fish tacos and one or two shrimp thru the day). I will always recommend the classic margarita with a tajin rim or the watermelon drinks they make. The fruit garnish is to die for and very refreshing complement to the drink itself. I am very passionate about this place.“

“We had a great time visiting during the Mistletoe Pop-Up. The Christmas cocktails were delicious and we tried a few regular offerings. The food menu was underwhelming, so we ended up going elsewhere for food, but the vibe and drinks were great.“

“Tried J and Tony's for the first time and had a a lot of fun. Atmosphere is great and the music was lively yet chill.

I got some food that was delicious. They have a surprisingly good breakfast sandwich. The English muffin was lightly toasted with flavorful american cheese and the sausage patty was well seasoned.

Now for the best part of any bar...the drinks. J & Tony's have a very playful drink menu and also some old school classic drinks. I had two negroni cocktails and it was amazing. They tasted great and definitely had a strong kick, so if you like a stiff drink you know where to go.

Service was nice and friendly. Everyone attending us was upbeat and warm. Drinks and food were brought out really fast which was definitely appreciated.

My only regret...I WAS TOO EARLY FOR THE MEATBALLS!

The jalapeño Caesar salad was also amazing! Had a kick! Main dishes I enjoyed were the burger, and the chicken, very good and flavorful. “I always love a good speakeasy and this place did not disappoint. I love the concept. As soon as you walk in the room, you feel like you're being transported inside of a ship. The staff was friendly and the service was great. The drink menu is robust and I enjoyed the cocktails. My wife and I tried the Island Bird and La Vela. Both drinks were great. I was a bit disappointed with the food. We ordered the Tacos and Papas Bravas. Food was a bit underwhelming. But I would absolutely return just for the cocktails, vibes, service and ambiance.“

They get 5 star for food because you can bring your own. 5 star for service because they can make you feel like family,,,, they go out of their way to serve a drink exactly the way you like it. “One of the coolest new spots in San Diego in my opinion. This is the original location of the Casbah, it then languished for years as the Kava Lounge, a strange spot for wooks, and finally it became Kiku Room.

Kiku Room has a chic minimalist interior, with polish concrete, metal, and glass as the primary backdrop. The DJ booth is large and separates the front sitting area from a lounge in the back that is draped in deep red lighting.

The bartenders are cool and welcoming, the DJs who come through are usually really good, and the lounge is quite comfortable as well. Pretty good price on drinks overall, too. You can get a glass of draft Asahi here for $7, for instance, which is pretty good for a place that’s in this DTSD-adjacent area.“
