Team Barbie and I rolled in Coronado's sole dive bar around 9:30am on Thursday, July 4th. A little preparty before marching in the famous Coronado 4th of July Parade. Interior is from the 1980s or 70s...but still clean, dark, faded red carpet, vintage wood panel walls, beer decor, a single pool table in the back, an older, friendly and gentlemanly bartender, and a clientele that was 90% men at this early hour.

Three craft lager beers and a generous mimosa was $29, which I thought was very reasonable in an expensive, ritzy, and yuppy filled city like Coronado.“

“I had a wonderful and amazing taste of all of the delicious food prepared at Serea Coastal Cuisine. I can’t wait to go back and have this delicious food.“

“I stopped for lunch on a business trip. The service and food were great. I had the chicken fajitas for lunch. They provide chips and salsa with before and during the meal.
The only difficulty on stopping here was the parking. It is very limited and street parking is the only accessible option. I had to walk about 4 blocks but will not detour me from visiting again the next time I am in the area. Also I would assume will depend on the time of day that you visit.

“I visited the Del Coronado hotel on Thanksgiving day and it was a beautiful experience, nicely complemented by the food at Babcock! We tried the Bavarian pretzel and the veggie pizza (more like foccachia bread), both were good for a quick evening bite. The restaurant is located inside the hotel lobby and has a great holiday vibe with live music and lights!!“

“Wonderful holiday experience with friends. Ice skating rink nearby, great evening view of festive lights . Welcoming for adults and kids. Great date night. Open seating, not rushed,and great service. Drinks and food service was prompt,albeit a little pricey, but worth the special atmosphere. After dinner stroll enjoying the decor, happy kids,and beach bonfires .Thank you Hotel Del !“

“Honestly could be considered a bit pricy until you finish your first drink. The bar tenders make some of the best drinks I've ever had and at first they seem to just be heavy on the fruit but about halfway thru you realize they balance the alcohol perfectly so you cant tell that they definitely make them very sturdy for a day at the beach. As for the tacos, I usually end up having several by the end of the day they are just so balanced and flavorful. Good portion size too (I usually get several fish tacos and one or two shrimp thru the day). I will always recommend the classic margarita with a tajin rim or the watermelon drinks they make. The fruit garnish is to die for and very refreshing complement to the drink itself. I am very passionate about this place.“

“Very fun and lively atmosphere! The design is very well done. The food was great, I personally loved the oysters as they were served differently than I have experienced. The jalapeño Caesar salad was also amazing! Had a kick! Main dishes I enjoyed were the burger, and the chicken, very good and flavorful. Very fun and different cocktails to choose from along with fun zero proof options which is great if you do not drink alcohol. Service was spectacular, very kind, professional and knowledgeable about the menu. We will be coming back!“

“I always love a good speakeasy and this place did not disappoint. I love the concept. As soon as you walk in the room, you feel like you're being transported inside of a ship. The staff was friendly and the service was great. The drink menu is robust and I enjoyed the cocktails. My wife and I tried the Island Bird and La Vela. Both drinks were great. I was a bit disappointed with the food. We ordered the Tacos and Papas Bravas. Food was a bit underwhelming. But I would absolutely return just for the cocktails, vibes, service and ambiance.“

“First time here. It’s your typical dive, don’t expect anymore, don’t expect any less. Quarter machine was out of order so could play some of the games we wanted to but the bartender was pretty nice which is always great when it comes to drive bars“

“One of the coolest new spots in San Diego in my opinion. This is the original location of the Casbah, it then languished for years as the Kava Lounge, a strange spot for wooks, and finally it became Kiku Room.

Kiku Room has a chic minimalist interior, with polish concrete, metal, and glass as the primary backdrop. The DJ booth is large and separates the front sitting area from a lounge in the back that is draped in deep red lighting.

The bartenders are cool and welcoming, the DJs who come through are usually really good, and the lounge is quite comfortable as well. Pretty good price on drinks overall, too. You can get a glass of draft Asahi here for $7, for instance, which is pretty good for a place that’s in this DTSD-adjacent area.“

“I enjoyed myself ??? The co-owner was awesome as she moved around the crowd and spoke to ppl and seen her help clear tables ? The dj on Friday night was dope, had me dancing ?? The bartender (white dude with long hair ??) he has stellar customer service ?? met friendly people and staff! I like how they have a smoking area where you could still hear the music dead on , but they could have dimmer lights in the smoking section coz it bothered my eyes ???? I didn't get to try the food but I look forward to doing so soon!! Security was on it, great communication skills amongst each other and they paid attention all around; I felt safe.. I don't think anyone would mess with ??. Bathroom was very clean and the long mirror A+ ???. I ordered patron and redbull, I suggest they keep their redbulls chilled since a customer like myself orders the entire can ? price was decent!! “Fabulous food served in a no-frills, casual atmosphere. The service was excellent and Chef Luciano Cibelli comes out of the kitchen and checks with every table to see how diners are doing. Great place to celebrate a special occasion. We enjoyed the seafood fettucini, chicken parmesian, and the catch of the day, which was sea bass on a bed of roasted vegetables, with beet purée and a delicious beurre blanc. Delish!“

Not only did all the locals help me with my headspace but they helped me with understanding it’s ok to have a fall out I love ocean beach locals for helping me in my time of need and I’m so glad I moved here!
