About Bosforo

Bosforo is a warm and welcoming Turkish restaurant in San Diego that offers an authentic dining experience. The menu features a variety of delectable small plates, or "meze," allowing guests to enjoy traditional Turkish flavors. Standout dishes include the girit ezme, potato chips, lamb chop, and fish of the day. The chef, Seckin, has truly outdone himself, bringing a genuine slice of Türkiye to San Diego. The atmosphere is cozy yet elegant, and the staff treats guests like family. The restaurant's inviting ambiance, friendly service, and delicious food make it a great choice for those seeking authentic Turkish cuisine. While the prices may be higher than expected, especially for raki, the quality of the food and the unique experience make Bosforo a destination worth visiting, even if not an everyday option. Guests are especially recommended to try the Turkish coffee, which is the perfect ending to an unforgettable meal.

Amazing meal! We ordered 3 meze and 2 mains. The fish of the day was a Turkish branzino and was delicious. Everything was super flavorful and our server gave us feedback on the order (suggesting a few changes) which was much appreciated. The Bosforo kebap was hands down the best item we ordered but the eggplant atom was a close second.

Highly recommend getting a reservation.

Food is great but portions are small. Turkish manager lady is great and accommodating. Probably it is not the best going there as a group at the weekends since they will not do separate checks even with 20% tip.

This is my favorite restaurant in the world and I take everyone here when they’re in town. As a Turk, this was the best adana kebab (they call it the Bosforo kebab on the menu) that I’ve ever had, including in Turkey, and the warm hummus was on par. The food at this amazing restaurant isn’t just good Turkish food — it’s the amazing food that a hip restaurant in Istanbul would serve and better than most food there. The service and interior were impeccable.
