“My latest visit to Curbside Eatery was nothing short of fantastic! As someone who was particularly keen on avoiding long waits, I was delighted with the prompt seating we received outdoors. The staff was incredibly attentive, ensuring we were comfortably settled without any delay. To top it off, despite the chilly evening, we were offered cozy blankets and had an outdoor heater close by, adding a touch of warmth to our dining experience—literally and figuratively! As always, the food was excellent. I had the fried shrimp with fries, which was cooked to perfection; crispy on the outside, yet succulent on the inside. It’s a dish I find myself returning to time and again, and it never disappoints.I highly recommend Curbside Eatery for anyone looking for a delightful meal with the added convenience of great outdoor accommodations. Their consistent service and delectable menu options make it a top choice every time. Five stars well deserved!“
“The La Mesa staff is always friendly and professional. The staff checks on you just enough to make sure your drink and food order is to your expectations. The food always arrives on time , is made as expected and our party of 4 adults enjoyed what they ordered on this visit.“
“Service normally above average. Mostly the reason for the 4 stars: Food not so much, very hit or miss. Some things good and above average. Some not.. Honestly though, the happy hour is a great value but the food is like they kind of half-ass some items. They have decent ingredients to work with but below average execution. The pizza is kinda different since it really has no sauce. It took me a while to figure this out. It's a thick breaded pizza with toppings only it appears. No real sauce, just crushed tomatoes which kinda kills it for me. Overpriced too. Actually I tend to like it saucy like my ladies... Unless you decide to order the tavern cut pizza, which is a very thin cracker-type crust. I like this one but I can practically eat the entire thing. Super thin but the tastiest option. I tried the beer club for about a year and have been considering getting out. It is not a bad value with all the perks but costs like 30$ every 2 months. But the food here never wows me. I do like the mozzarella and tomato salad, and the lentil soup however. Now the lentil soup is gone. Beers are just ok with the Zany Zitrus seasonal being my favorite. Service is above average every time at this location and earns a 4 star review here, food and beer 3 to 3.5. You might feel ripped off on the food if you pay full price, just saying. So choose wisely if possible, using happy hour discounts and such. Not a bad place for happy hour/daily deals and really friendly employees here.“
“Absolutely delicious, very creative menu and excellent plating & presentation of the dishes. Drove down from LA to try it, as I haven't seen their unique offerings at any other breakfast / bruch spots.Prices may look high at first glance, however it is a great value as the portions are quite large, it was enough for me to eat half and save the rest for another meal!Parking: A free parking lot is available, however it gets quite busy so the lot fills up fast.“
“The food items were delicious, great selection of interesting dishes. The wine list was impressive (we’ve been to major wine areas all over the planet). However, what we were most impressed with was our server Olivia. She knew the menu items very well - could answer any and all questions that we had. She expressed herself very positively. Rather than ask “are you still working on that?”; she asked “are you still enjoying your meal?” Rather than reply to a thank you with “no problem” or “no worries”; Olivia replied with “my pleasure.” When we go back; we’ll make a point of asking for Olivia!!!“
“SoCalTasting's journey to Mr. A's Bar and Restaurant in Bankers Hill, San Diego was nothing short of extraordinary. With breathtaking water and downtown views and bay paronama, close-up airplane sightings, and the mesmerizing cityscape, it's a must-visit. Our experience was elevated to new heights with mezcal drinks adorned with burnt tobacco leaves, creating a flavor sensation like no other. An unforgettable fusion of views and tastes awaits! Service was fantastic! Definitely going back there soon!“
“Whether you are popping in for a glass of wine before shopping at Sepulveda next door or having dinner of their wonderful specials that change daily (check Instagram), you will enjoy your experience at Juan Jasper. Lots of lively conversations between the staff and patrons (while still being attentive), varied and upbeat music playing just loud enough in the background, and a direct view of the kitchen makes for a wonderful atmosphere. A small act of consideration and respect by a customer is rewarded by the generous proprietor. This is what service and dining should be. You can see why folks happily wait to get a seat at this local gem. Cannot recommend enough: great for lunch and dinner.“
“The All American sliders and shrimp flat bread was spot on as usual but it was their draft beers that were not up to par tonight (not as cold as usual) due to them being slammed earlier leaving them with hot glasses. This is where 100% he saved the day. Zach our server on the fly suggested if he can turn these hot glasses into super cold glasses by super dropping the temperature by filling it up with lots of ice and water and then cleaning the cold glasses and topping it up with there tapped IPA immediately. It was effective and the beers were super drinkable again and delicious. Thank u Zach for being absolutely brilliant, entertaining and most of all taking care of your customers from the bottom of your heart!“
“We stayed nearby Sunnyboy boy during our visit to San Diego and decided to give the place a try one day. Wish we came sooner because the food is delicious! The biscuits and gravy were good but I’d definitely get the fried chicken and biscuits! It does get busy around lunch time but it’s worth the quick wait. The staff is also very nice which is a huge plus!“
“We went to Smokey and the brisket on a Friday with my husband's family, we all have various wants and desires and Nicki handled all of our very different things with grace and professionalism. From our crying child about a cheese pizza to our grumbling bride working on her veil (at a BBQ place I know not the best idea but I was trying to get it done before Sunday) his family had flown in and were starving. She was fast and considerate to us and all around made that experience. Even joked with me about how a chicken sandwich without pickles was a crime against chicken sandwiches everywhere. She made our visit very pleasant. Nicki was the best!“
