“Nice smoky and spicy flavors; as Marc Murphy says, "seasoned with authority." Very nice staff. The cucumber pickles took me right back to my childhood, to family dinners on the High Plains, prepared by my bachelor farmer great-uncles and an unmarried aunt or two, who had their Southern roots in their memories. Yummmm!“

“The resturaunt itself was nice and clean. The service was friendly. The mashed potatoes were really good. Everything else I was not impressed unfortunately. It was our first time here. The brussels sprouts, asparagus and bread were ok. The brisket was pretty good to ok but could have been more moist but the steaks were even more dry, didn't seem to be marinated, very under seasoned and flavorless. We ordered mediums but it seemed more medium well. They remade one of the portions that was supposed to be medium rare but it came out tasting and looking exactly the same. It could be the steak itself and not necessarily the way they're preparing it, I really don't know. It just wasn't good, and what we really came there for was the steak so it was pretty disappointing.“

“A very cute place in South Park with delicious food. It’s an interesting cuisine-a mix of Spanish, Italian, and French, but provides you with a unique menu. We got the skirt steak which was cooked to perfection and the happy hour deals are great.“

“Craving mac and cheese and happy I came to try this place out, as soon as I walked in I can smell the smoked BBQ. Its a nice place with a bar area plenty of brew options, they have a drink special for everyday of the week you can order and customize to your liking. Ordered a loaded order of mac and cheese with shredded cheese, bacon and pulled pork. The taste was heavenly and the pulled pork was smokey tender, delicious. I would definitely come back happy its close to home“

“The Fire Spot offers an exceptional dining experience that combines rich flavors with an inviting atmosphere. Upon entering, the warm, smoky aroma of grilling meat immediately draws you in, setting the stage for a culinary adventure. The menu boasts a diverse selection of premium cuts, from tender beef brisket to succulent pork belly, all perfectly marinated and ready to be grilled at your table. The attentive and friendly staff are always on hand to assist with grilling tips, ensuring each bite is cooked to perfection. One attention to detail I noticed is that they did not forget any dishes I ordered! Most of the KBBQ places I’ve been to often forget one or two dishes cuts to the table. Not here! The array of side dishes, from crisp kimchi to tasty cucumber, complements the meats beautifully, creating a harmonious balance of flavors. The vibrant, lively ambiance, paired with the mouthwatering food, makes this restaurant a must-visit for anyone seeking an authentic and delightful Korean barbecue experience!“

“Super friendly service. Food was tasty. Meat was tender. Sandwich was a bit lacking in meat to bread, onion, pickle ratio and cheese not too melted but great flavor. The sausage was really good too. Again it was kind of luke warm not hot and fresh. Overall, great lunch and great price too for the Wednesday special of sandwich two sides and a drink for $13.95.“

“Everything was good and up to par as per usual. However, the " pork chop with onion" can be heavy on the maple/caramelized sugar after tone if you are not expecting it. I would recommend the "pork chop with salt and pepper instead. The deep fried whole fish in sweet and sour sauce is the best in SoCal .“

“I love this place, they’re always consistent and everything is fresh. I usually get the fried fish, collard greens and mac & cheese. I always get a sliced lemon with my plate, that small addition is really the chef’s kiss. That fish is seasoned and fried to perfection and they use the GOOD cheese on the mac & cheese ?“

“I absolutely adore this destination for leisure and pre-game festivities. The staff members are incredibly attentive and dedicated to their work. The cuisine offered here is truly top-notch, with Ivan, the pitmaster, skillfully crafting the most mouthwatering brisket. Sports enthusiasts will be delighted by the abundance of TV screens, while adults can indulge in a wide selection of games. Overall, it's an immensely enjoyable establishment that never fails to deliver a fantastic experience.“

“Didn’t know this place existed until I stumbled into Sieu Sieu BBQ restaurant while visiting another store in the same plaza. No frills restaurant but authentic Cantonese BBQ! When they were chopping the roast pig in pieces, I can hear the crispy sound of the skin. 3 hours at dinner time, the roast pig skin is still crispy and the meat was perfectly seasoned (not too salty)!!!Also got a salted chicken. It was cooked just right, no blood still in the bone. Meat was juicy and tender. They also gave a big container of ginger onion condiment for dipping sauce. Yummy!Price is still a little cheaper than other nearby BBQ stores. Plenty of parking spaces. This is the place for roasted pork and BBQ items. We will be back for more!“
“This is a “Great Spot For A Brat” when at Petco Park watching a San Diego Padres Game. They offer Sauerkraut or cooked Onions also on a tasty bun. Condiments such as 2 types of Mustard is available and Ketchup. Napkin dispenser is available. Service is good. They could be friendlier. I recommend the Bratwurst Sandwich, too bad you can’t get the fries at one time. They told me to go somewhere else for the fries. I ended up changing my mind like some people and didn’t get any ($7)“

“This place has no business being this good! It's a bit spendy, but you get what you pay for. Some of the best French fries I've had in San Diego. And I lived here for 30 years. The meat is tender and juicy. The sauces are ridiculously good. 10/10 will come again.“

“This is a gem of a Koren place. Nice small restaurant, the staff is professional and nurturing. I ordered spicy crab and not know how to eat it, the staff came by and very nicely advice to use gloves etc. ?. The food is very good and authentic ?. I tasted the bibimpab cold and on a hot stone. I liked the spicy crab, it is very messy for me. The pickled appetizers are delicious. Overall, great experience, I highly recommend it.“

“The food quality and the staff's service are top notch. However, the pricing is way off. After spending $150 on two people I was hungry so went to H Mark down the street and got a pastry. I also ate a spare jerky that was left in my car. The tea was delicious as well.Next time, I'll probably go to the Korean BBQ in the same shopping center and the two of us will eat and be full for 1/3 the price.“

“After getting denied seating late (8:35 pm) on a Sunday from 3 of our regular joints, my eagle-eyed hubby said “what’s that?” and pointed to a shop across the lot. We went over and asked the girl if they were seating still and she said yes! We waited a bit and I’m like “What is up? There’s open tables!!” When they called us, they brought us to the OTHER room! (Oops ?). It didn’t have a ton of tables, but it was roomy!
Got seated and given the rundown or how it worked. For $40, KBBQ has open access to everything except the meat (which you order from the staff) and can get anything from the shabu stations. Woot! Drinks were behind us, next to the rice and the miso soup and beef curry stew…all self-serve. They had drinks on draft: water, sweet oolong tea, calpico, and milk tea. Canned soda in the fridge was available to get at your leisure. Orders of the beef…can’t say for sure if they’re TRULY Wagyu, but I’ll just say the beef was GOOD! Nothing was frozen that we saw. Steak was not too thick/thin, the beef cubes and rib fingers were ? on point, and brisket with good marbling and so huge I had to cut them in half. Not a TON of options for meats, I’d say like 12-14…but they’re tasty and fresh so it’s better regardless. They also serve karaage 3 ways and a bunch of other stuff. I liked that the salad was basically chopped romaine hearts large enough to use as wraps but not the entire leaf you have to tear. I also liked the ability to get the shabu stuff for the grill. Had a picky eater with us so we were able to find something they like (spam and karaage…aka chicken nuggets).
It would be AMAZING if they’d let your table pick shabu and kbbq, but it’s not a deal breaker. Personally I LOVE Shabumi for the ability to have and share hot pot AND KBBQ on the same table. But I’ll go here for kbbq because the quality of the meat and the convenience of everything self-serve is worth it.
Service was good. I don’t have any complaints.
So thanks Olleh, The Fire Spot, and Tsuruhashi for not being able to take us! We got a new spot for our rotation now!“
