When I got my food there was a note attached to my food and they got exactly what I wanted. To the employee who wrote the note THANK YOU! You’re an amazing employee. “My 2nd time dining in, (3rd if you count a delivery). Skewers are great not only in price but in quality and amount of meat. I didn't know they have a special on Saturday lamb skewer for $1.50 each! However, I would recommend this place more for meat eaters. Although there are several vegetarian options, the vegetarian dish that we ordered was average. “We came here to eat last night as a family. Excellent food and service.

What really made the night special was the vibe and service. The Olympics were on and we enjoyed watching the games. I had to explain curling to the little one.

It’s laid-back but still feels like you can celebrate something meaningful there. The staff was super friendly and accommodating. The little one ordered a Shirley temple and loved it. Our servers would give her an extra cherry whenever she asked. She was so happy.

Personally recommend getting the wings, brisket, potato salad, and beans. It was a dinner I'll remember. Thank you, Cali BBQ, for helping make it special. We’ll definitely come again.“

The baked beans and slaw were just as good. We liked that they let you put your own sauce on. The tables have their house made sauces, bbq and a bbq mustard. Both fantastic! They have beef ribs but only on Sundays, so we’ll need a return trip( oh darn!) Definitely have some new fans here. Oh and worth noting, we got one meal which was plenty for the two of us.“

“Every time we’ve gone, the food is good. They also have a good choice of craft beers on hand rotating. The service can be either really good or really bad. They have forgotten about us and left us waiting for a check for 40 minutes. I ordered a hamburger with two slices of cheese, when they served it the hamburger only had one slice. I asked the waitress if she could just take it back and add another slice of cheese. I am more than happy to pay for it. She blew a huffing sound, shrugged her shoulders and rolled her eyes and said whatever and walked away with the plate. When she brought it back, she sat the plate down and said, “Do you have enough cheese now”. My wife and I have actually enjoyed going to this place, but that waitress has turned me off for a while for sure.“

This is a college area and yet this one in La Mesa beats the one located in La Jolla so something‘s going on over in the expensive area where they’re cheating the value or the quality where you have El Cajon and now here in La Mesa much better quality service is pretty good in the atmosphere. It’s it’s giving me that Hawaiian vibe a little bit so watch out expensive living areas you gotta pick up your game and stop being cheap.“

“This was our go-to spot before the game and it didn’t disappoint. Super fun atmosphere with interactive games to play with friends, and the sliders were actually really good. “Located near the sdsu campus, this location is accessible to students and community members alike. The food was fresh and the katsu had a delectable crutch that left a good taste in my mouth. The cashier was a kind soul that made our L & L experience one that we’ll never forget.“

“The only negative I have to say is the location. However the food was great. I got the short ribs. The meat was tender. My partner got that katsu and it's the crunch that gets me. Delicious. The Mac salad was good too. No weird after taste of fish oil that I've had at other places.“

“I have nothing but sweet words about this place. I am a tourist here and have tried another Nigerian restaurant that was not much to write home about. I ordered ogbona and egusi for myself and hubby and it tasted like home food.
The portions were big too and we could have shared a soup instead of buying two meals.
Customer service was good though the setup does not encourage physical contact. A sweet young boy came out to inform us that our order was being prepared.

Ordering was easy via the kiosk in the waiting room and wait was not too long.

Worthy to note is that there are multiple food places in the same place and they each have their ordering kiosk. You Order & pay online or via the kiosk and your food is brought out to you.

Food is a bit pricey but worth it. Will return again but hope I can get my chinchin this time.“

The Pig's Gig is located in the Liberty Mall, just a small cubical that's hopping. Just one fellow who is pleasant and rockin' it! Dining in requires a little hunting for seating, but once you pop the 'to-go' box it's so worth the search! Weekday there's plenty of parking, weekends gets a little hectic.“

“I stop here every time I’m in San Diego to see Chris and Chris (my favorite bartenders) and get my bbq and BS fix. The bbq is on-point for KC style bbq. I know because I grew up in KC. But before you walk in here, maybe you should ask yourself a few questions in order to spare this amazing place future weird reviews:

Am I afraid of bras? Will my life be diminished by reading a few irreverent bumper stickers? Am I put off by people who are unapologetically authentic? Do I prefer whitewashed, soulless, corporate places? If your answer to these questions is “No” then you won’t regret stopping here. If ya do stop, give Chris and Chris high fives and hugs for me!“

“Dual BBQ and hot pot tables if you have people who prefer one or the other. Otherwise I would probably stick to a dedicated place for BBQ or hotpot. It has everything and the all you can eat is pretty generous, it's just not as polished as some other BBQ or hotpot restaurants.“
