I order the alligator, which was disgusting. I took one bite and almost vomit. I asked the waiter if I could change my order so she brought me something else. and when I receive my bill, it still had the alligator on there. I asked if she can remove it since I didn’t eat it or like it at all she said they were a small business and they did not refund anything. Next thing I know she called the police telling them I was refusing to pay while she stood over in the corner hiding...read full review

Based on the reviews, Louisiana Charlie's San Diego offers great and friendly service in a fun, casual atmosphere. The food is highly recommended, with specific meals like the cajun catfish basket, which is perfection with a great portion size and extra crispy seasoned fries, though the fries can be a bit heavy with the salt. The beignets are a standout, served piping hot, light, airy, and extremely tasty with a wonderful texture, though the powdered sugar can be a bit overkill. The shrimp is described as amazing and the best shrimp in recent memory. For first-timers, the Cajun food is addictive, with the go-to dish being gumbo fries, and the root beer is bomb. The food is good, and the entrees come with a side. The overall quality and taste are absolutely worth the price, making it a must-try spot for an authentic New Orleans-style treat.
