First Time visitor of this restaurantIt's not a sit down, per se, but a walk up and order then they bring it ro you. The being of San Diego is decent and the food was very good. We had the gumbo and jumbelya. For a quick bite this place was good.

I ordered the gumbo fries and was pleasantly surprised by the portion size. It could have easily fed 2 people. The food and service were nice.

I order the alligator, which was disgusting. I took one bite and almost vomit. I asked the waiter if I could change my order so she brought me something else. and when I receive my bill, it still had the alligator on there. I asked if she can remove it since I didn’t eat it or like it at all she said they were a small business and they did not refund anything. Next thing I know she called the police telling them I was refusing to pay while she stood over in the corner hiding watching them talk to me. I don’t recommend this business. People shouldn’t have to pay for something that taste disgusting and if you can’t afford to refund something, that’s not right you should not be in business.

The food was bland, it lacked flavor, especially if it’s Cajun style. We had catfish and fries, and gumbo fries. The gumbo was a big bowl of soup with sausages and 2-3 small shrimp. Not what I expected. The catfish was crunchy, but not seasoned.Guess it’s good for tourists who’ve never had Cajun food before.

The food is pretty good, but the wait staff are completely inept at their jobs. I visited twice, and on one occasion I was the only customer.... Not once did they check on me asking how to the food is or if I wanted another drink, more napkins, etc. Default tip amount on their POS machines is 20% of the taxed total for non-existent service.

If you're looking for good BBQ food, avoid this place. I ordered a $19 Brisket sandwich, which took 31 minutes to come out. The place was packed, so, somewhat understandable. But it did not taste like good smoked BBQ food. It was regularly cooked meat with BBQ sauce slathered on to "fool" you. The Mac and cheese came out first, but the guy had a hard time finding us I guess. We moved closer right before he came out. He saw our number, and went back in for some reason. Then we had to wait another 5 minutes for it to come out. The mac and cheese was too peppery in my opinion. My wife ordered gumbo fries, but in my not so expert opinion, it looked like regular gumbo, like a soup, not like the photos I saw on here. We also ordered 3 hot beignets, but they forgot to bring those out. Getting them to bring those out was no easy task and probably took another 10 minutes. I talked to 2 people, because the first person didn't seem like she was going to do anything. The second person wanted my table number stand. I mistakenly thought it was 74, but it was 75. Then I found my receipt, and he verified the order. He would not take my word for it and give me the beignets until he saw I really ordered them. I tipped when I paid for my meal, but really wish I hadn't since the service was subpar. The beignets were actually pretty good, but not as good as the ones at Disneyland. The only reasonably priced item at this place was the bottled Coke at $3.50.I'm sure most of their customers are tourists. I would recommend Malibu Farms over this place. Good view also, and GREAT service. Food was also great too. If you are local, you should consider Grand Ole BBQ in Flynn Springs (opposite direction, East of El Cajon,) but TRUST me, well worth the drive. Rather than serve you "fake" smoked meat, they just run out and stop serving it. There is also Grand Ole BBQ in North Park, but we haven't tried that yet.For just a little bit more (but NO views) you can go to Fogo De Chao and get top notch service AND meat.We will not be back.
