“The food is freshly prepared and not like typical Filipino cantinas where you point at the food, which has been out for awhile. Their bowls have the right amount of rice, meat and veggies. Well balanced meal and not greasy. Highly recommended for a modern feel of traditional Filipino food. We need to make Filipino food match the modern times. So happy too that it's near my home and not all the way in Clairemont or Mira Mesa.Parking: No problem with parking even during a rainy day.“
“This Shack at Valley Farm's Market in Spring Valley has changed identity a couple of time, but now they seemed to blended the best of both worlds: A coffee shop and a BBQ house with smashed burgers and tacos.I've been to the shack of a couple of times now. First was for some coffee and an avocado toast. The coffee was good, and the avocado toast was really good and came with plenty of smashed avocado. Now, the double smash burger with fries was fantastic. They use quality beef, which is ground in-house, at the marker next door. The beef flavors were great, and the burger as w whole was great, too. The double smash burger comes with sauteed umami onions, American cheese, a secret sauce, on a toasted brioche bun. You can get this great burger on Thursdays for $10.99. Any other day, the double smash costs $14.99. It comes with fries. They offer outside shaded seating and service is very friendly.“
“Good soul food selection, as that food style is very limited in San Diego! Nice young ladies work there completing orders.I ate inside while a sports game was on but the TV had an issue!I'll be back!Parking: Plenty of parking in a big lot shared by various businesses.“
“Great little tucked away place with good food for the price. Service from Alejandro was great. Took the time to chat and fill our drinks.Brisket was good and all the sides were good. Try the mashed potatoes. The Turkey was good and had a smokey taste. Will come again.“
“Fantastic BBQ. The best I've had outside of Texas. There's a line and they sell out so get there early. On a Saturday, we showed up at about 540 and by the time we got to order they had run out of the pork spare ribs.We did get just about everything else and it was fantastic. The sauces were great too. Also don't forget the sides! We got the potato salad and had to go back and get more because it was so good. We will definitely be going back again!“
“This restaurant is in downtown La Mesa seriously amazing. Probably the best burger I've ever had. I got to be the last burger before they sold out. it was so juicy but honestly this sauce they put on top has like southwest flavoring, and they have roasted poblano peppers on top of the burger. So much flavor but not falling apart. This place is clean, nice and the most accommodating staff. The owners were there and took care of us personally. It's definitely worth the line.“
“Really good service. Very friendly and professional. Food was well prepared and favorable. Had our preteen granddaughters with us, and they enjoyed their meals a lot.Dietary restrictions: We shared our allergy issues, and all meals were free of issues.Kid-friendliness: They have a small game area that we enjoyed.“
“This place was a pleasant surprise for me. The food was very delicious and we came on a great day where it was cold and rainy outside. It look a little but longer than usual to receive the food and bill, but the taste of the food, friendly service, and great atmosphere made up for that x 10. I wish I lived closer to keep eating here!“
“Let me say BBQ is not my jam. HOWEVER I QUE was delish!! Service was absolutely amazing! I will definitely go back again and again and share. But once it’s gone … they are gone! So GO NOW !!! I believe they are open :Thursday, Friday, Saturday, Sunday ( limited hours)“
“I'm from Texas and I take BBQ very serious. I haven't tried a bunch of their food but I love their bandit sliders! Sooooo good however one time I had them and they were extremely salty and the bacon was burnt so bad it tasted HORRIBLE. Other than that actually have a grill outside which is the correct way to make BBQ.“
“Haven't come here in years, but let me tell you something...I'd come here with my mother, aunt and cousin, whenever possible. There is no food like home.Nothing compares to what it feels and tastes like to live in the south EXCEPT this Barbeque right here.I'm a picky eater too, but I can't help but savor every moment I spent at this restaurant.I highly recommend spending your lunch or dinner here. Now I'm craving barbecue.Thank you for all the memories Bowlegged.“
“If your on the edge about this place, jump off the cliff. Cause it's a place you can't take the chance to miss. Everything we ordered was on par or above expectation. The meet was tender and juicy beyond belief, we all fought over the corn bread, but the surprise of the night was how unbelievable their turkey was! We were blown away by the quality and the amazing work ethic that must have gone into cooking such flavourful food. Kudos to everyone in house. Yall are great at your craft and we appreciate you for it.Vegetarian options: They have vegetarian itemsDietary restrictions: They have allergen free items“
“The food was amazing ! I love eating BBQ. I got some brisket with some ribs and had to try the BBQ and Buffalo Wings. I definitely recommend eating here. The staff was very attentive and provided excellent service. Above and beyond ! Thank you for the great experience !“
“I have passed by Izzy's so many times over so many years and the place is easy to miss. If you miss it, you are missing out! Amazing food, friendly service. It is always packed, so be prepared to wait. Although, you really won't wait too long. And, it's totally worth the wait! Be sure to get their coffee cake muffin, and ask for one to go! Can't go wrong with the corned beef hash. I am always on the lookout for a small breakfast place to be my go-to. This is the one!“
“We went to Smokey and the brisket on a Friday with my husband's family, we all have various wants and desires and Nicki handled all of our very different things with grace and professionalism. From our crying child about a cheese pizza to our grumbling bride working on her veil (at a BBQ place I know not the best idea but I was trying to get it done before Sunday) his family had flown in and were starving. She was fast and considerate to us and all around made that experience. Even joked with me about how a chicken sandwich without pickles was a crime against chicken sandwiches everywhere. She made our visit very pleasant. Nicki was the best!“
“I don't know how i haven't left a review here before! I've been going here for years. At least 5/6. I come every Monday for wing night and it's my absolute favorite tradition, I've never had an issue with the service or attitudes. I know all of the serves by name and they all know me. They're always very polite. And the wings are always phenomenal! They always do their best to accommodate whoever i bring and even bring out heaters if it's too cold outside. I am absolutely obsessed with west coast and all of its employees.“
“The ssssalivation is REAL! Coop knows how to do it right! His Q is legit. Tasty, tender, juicy ribs n brisket that don’t need any sauce. Every bite that slides off the bone has loads of smokiness. They go down like buttahh... But, le’me tell you, that spicy sauce is so dope. It’s bursting with so much flavor and adds some heat to the bites. It’s just a cherry on top of the sundae. So ask for the spicy sauce. It’s so good.Their sides are all great. Starting with that cornbread. The pieces are huge and perfect. They have the right amount of moisture that they don’t get all crumbly n crummy. So yummy! I could stop there, but I love their bbq beans that have chunks of pineapple. Didn’t expect that my first time there when they first opened. But I’ve been a sucker for it ever since. If you don’t want something sweet, the red beans n rice are also great. They even have chunks of the brisket in it. I must say, I never really had collard greens till I discovered Coops. I’ve had it since at other places, but I really like the way they make the greens here. I always gotta have it on my plate to complete my scrumptious meal. I usually order for pick up and bring my stash home for the fam. There is limited seating inside and outside if you can’t wait to get home. The tortuous drive is the hardest part for me!Thanks for keeping the legend goin, Coop!(The only drawback: the hours! Please stay open past 3pm. People don’t grab dinner before then. The business will at least triple if it stayed open to at least 6-7pm! And summer is coming!I’ll do (5) stars for service then. ; D )“
“There was a line but it move fast. We order and it took a while to get our food. There was a family in front of us and they got there food really fast except for us. I had to ask for our food it was ready on the counter but the beeper never beep. Overall the food was really good and the server gave really good service.“
“For my third times ordering a lechon here in USA this is my first time that I can say “the best lechon” taste like Cebu lechon very juicy too . Affordable price . I ordered last week and all the visitors asking where I got the lechon. Next time again !“
“It has been in Fletcher Hills forever and is just as outstanding as the first time. The only thing that has changed, is the prices. The bean soup is like Mom made it, always a must for me. If you like beef stew, get there early on Fridays, as it always sells out.“
“Really cool little spot. With very reasonable prices. We got three different items and they were all great. We got a couple different stuffed buns that they have and they were both very good and we also got some pork and that was amazing as well. The ladies that work there are all very friendly and you’re in and out of there quick because it’s like a cafeteria style line.“
“I gotta give this place a five star rating cause the service was great and the food was delicious. Comparing it to Epic Wings, I can honestly say this place might even beat it, especially cause the strips were more crispier. One thing is for sure, I will be returning and choosing it over Epic Wings. Oh, and this place has way more options with food and sauces.“
“My parents use to work here way, way ,WAY back in the day when it was owned by the Jensen's. This is one of the few things I do miss about California. Whenever I'm back in Southern California, I always make sure to stop in. Great food, great atmosphere. All around, a definite must.“
“Long wait, but open until midnight so it all worked out. Cute little two seater tables. Meat came out sooo quick once ordered. Not sure if this was on purpose or not, but meat portions seemed to be smaller for just us two. Which was nice because we were able to try a variety instead of being hindered with a few huge amounts of the same meat. Highly recommend the bulgogi.Service was great, dishes got cleared quickly to make space, wait staff was attentive and friendly. Seems to attract a younger crowd. (Parking was awful, but did eventually find street parking)“
“Consistently GOOD! Always made to order and the food is fresh as can be for fast food. Great customer service and friendly staff. Restaurant is clean and plenty of seating available. I recommend the chicken katsu plate with rice and mac salad or all mac salad. The servings are very generous and the price is fair.“
“Literally everything I have eaten is 10/10, the attention, the image of the place you literally feel like you are eating in Korea, I haven't eaten a taste of that style of authentic Korean food in years, and the beer uff very good the kass and a very good price ?? and the snow macaroni is another level, and I recommend that you order galbi de rib“
“Nice lamb mixiote and lamb barbacoa served here by the kilo, or in tacos. I am partial to the mixiote, but would recommend the "Taco Suave de Barbacoa" if you wanted a bite-size sampler of what this humble but high-quality operation is capable of. Omar S.'s review has all the in-depth detail you need, and you should read it.“
“Great experience. The food was excellent. Our server Anthony did a great job helping us out today. Service was quick and got us everything we needed. They're very reliable. The setting is very nice. If you're looking for a place with a relaxing environment without being too quiet or too loud this is the place to go.“
“Quite possibly the best BBQ I have had in quite sometime! Friends & Family were craving BBQ and chose this new place that recently opened. It's always good to try new places & new flavors. We were immediately greeted by several staff members with warm smiles. Wow, I was impressed with how good the BBQ and sides were (And my hometown is Kansas City) so that's a lot to say, including their sauce! By the way I then noticed they are known for Kansas City style BBQ. I thank the staff for their excellent customer service. Much to our surprise, a staff member came over and offered us complimentary cheesecake - and it was yummy! The Barn House BBQ is a "Must Have" whenever in town & craving some tasty food, service & restaurant atmosphere, as I felt I was actually in Kansas City - Cheers!“
“We love Korean Bbq!. Love this location. It's so much more open than their other location in Chula Vista. The vents are amazing that you barely smell any smoke. You never leave smelling like Korean bbq. The service was excellent. The kids loved the robots. We will definitely be back“
“Oh my God! It tastes like Christmas at grandmas house in Georgia. THIS is what I’ve been looking for. I’m new from the east coast & soul food is hard to come by in this city. I had the catfish, greens & beans, unfortunately they were out of Mac n cheese, but judging by the catfish & greens I already know the Mac b cheese will not disappoint. I’ll be back every weekend for sure.“
“The tri-tip sandwich was good but not as lean or as large as I would hope. The onion rings were good but most were not the crispy bite I prefer. John at the bar was friendly, putting up with my banal conversation. I sat at the bar because apparently it's the only place a human can take your order. You must log in with your smartphone at any table. Payment was also thru the smartphone, which I had never done before. Is this all an attempt to keep staffing levels as low as possible?“
