“I stumbled upon this bar while exploring the neighborhood and ended up staying for hours. It has a rustic interior, friendly staff, and an impressive list of craft beers — both local and international. The bartender was super knowledgeable and let me sample a few before I picked my favorite. They also had board games available, which made the night even more fun. Solo or with friends — great place to chill.“

“Took a wrong turn on the freeway and that lead us to this place. We had been wanting to come in and took this as a sign. We went for the two meat meal- brisket and pork ribs with bbq beans and cole slaw. Delicious!! Brisket was fork tender and full of flavor, pork ribs were seasoned perfectly and just right. The baked beans and slaw were just as good. We liked that they let you put your own sauce on. The tables have their house made sauces, bbq and a bbq mustard. Both fantastic! They have beef ribs but only on Sundays, so we’ll need a return trip( oh darn!) Definitely have some new fans here. Oh and worth noting, we got one meal which was plenty for the two of us.“

“Every time we’ve gone, the food is good. They also have a good choice of craft beers on hand rotating. The service can be either really good or really bad. They have forgotten about us and left us waiting for a check for 40 minutes. I ordered a hamburger with two slices of cheese, when they served it the hamburger only had one slice. I asked the waitress if she could just take it back and add another slice of cheese. I am more than happy to pay for it. She blew a huffing sound, shrugged her shoulders and rolled her eyes and said whatever and walked away with the plate. When she brought it back, she sat the plate down and said, “Do you have enough cheese now”. My wife and I have actually enjoyed going to this place, but that waitress has turned me off for a while for sure.“

“Overall, this La Mesa location it’s not too bad. It’s pretty good. The barbecue beef again. This is a college area and yet this one in La Mesa beats the one located in La Jolla so something‘s going on over in the expensive area where they’re cheating the value or the quality where you have El Cajon and now here in La Mesa much better quality service is pretty good in the atmosphere. It’s it’s giving me that Hawaiian vibe a little bit so watch out expensive living areas you gotta pick up your game and stop being cheap.“

“Hanu is my go to AYCE Korean BBQ spot. I've tried a few in San Diego and something about this place keeps me coming right back. I recently stopped in the Friday before Valentine's day to treat my wife and daughters to a nice dinner. This was their first experience with a meal like this and it definitely was an experience they haven't stopped talked about. To start off, there was about a 5-7 minute wait around 6pm which worked out perfectly. Our server Anthony went above and beyond without even knowing it. He along with every other staff member working that night was on point. Within a few minutes I had started cooking our first round of meat. Everything from the sides to all the different types of meat we got were amazing. Anytime I asked for anything whether it was another fork, another side or round of meat for the table, Anthony was on top of it. I had to get his attention before leaving and thank him for truly giving us an amazing dining experience. I would absolutely recommend coming here anytime you're in the mood for some BBQ.“

“I've been here many times, and it's consistently one of my favorite Korean BBQ spots. The special promotion from July 1 to July 31 is a great deal, and the food quality has always been consistent.
The only minor issue I noticed is that the baby high chairs don't seem to be cleaned thoroughly. I had to switch three or four different high chairs, and each one still had leftover food or rice from the previous child. I hope they can pay a little more attention to cleaning them, especially since many families with young children dine here.
Overall, it's still a great place, and I'll definitely be back.“

“Had a burger here to try it out and it was delicious indeed. The meat is really soft and tender. Has really good flavor. The bun also has a very good flavour and looks/tastes gourmet but the price is not bad.
Love how you can walk up and order quickly. They also have a few beers on tap!!
Next time I will try their fries and buffalo wings.

“I read the reviews for this place and I was curious to try it, being Mexican, I’ve never been too impressed by tacos in San Diego, there are good tacos but there’s always something better down south.
I am not someone that picks a place for the atmosphere, I go places for their food, if the atmosphere is good I might stay longer but if the food’s good I’ll come back.
Which is the case with this place, the food is so good that I would travel back from mexico just to eat their ribeye tacos.
I’ve read about people complaining about the atmosphere here, there are too used to fast food joints, this is how a real taqueria feels like, it’s rustic, not sterile, there’s ash from the charcoal flying and landing in the furniture out back, loud music, informal service. If you can’t deal with that, go get yourself some fast food instead, this might not be for everyone. But the food…
The food is worth it, not sterile uberclean plastic setting we tend to find this side of the wall, this feels authentic, and tastes like the best in Mexico. The quality of the raw materials ids the best I have seen, even in México. Could the setting be better? Who cares, the tacos are fantastic that’s all that counts.

“Some of the best Mexican food you will find in San Diego (which is saying a lot). Extensive menu, which has a lot of lamb items, but also vegatarian options. The flavors are amazing, and it is clear they use very fresh ingrediants. Personal favorites: Green pozole, squash blossom quesadilla, enchiladas with mole sauce.“

“A fave, fast, & family-friendly restaurant!! The food is delish & the portion sizes are huge!! The Katsu Chicken with a side of macaroni & a side of rice is my go-to!! “I don't know of anything this side of Hawaii like this food. Alwats a treat. Waiting area is a bit hot and stuffy do I takw out. My only complaint is the online ordering platform is loke Mussion Incompoorehensible. I chose National City and in the end it presents stores across the entire country to choose from. Seriouly??? What are you thinking??The choices of gravy katsu sauce(is there a difference?) Rice and god knows what made mo sense at all after already choosing the plate I wanted. This once again is a function of corporate managers that dont test/proofread their scripts. The food is excellent and unique.“

“Food is similar to all other L&L (garlic shrimp is so so so good), but what really stood out to me was the incredible service by the young lady working the register. We visiting during lunch on Tuesday June 2. She was welcoming, helpful, and really embraced the aloha spirit. Please give her a raise.“

“Haven't been in over a year and came back with the family and it is great to see them doing well! Great feel always and the food never disappoints. Love the brisket and tri-tip, and the cornbread is always great! If you want good BBQ in east county this is our favorite!! (Was a little warm inside, even the server was sweating but it was an extremely hot day and better than outside!)“
