Wait staff could use some training on service and how to look for tables that may need assistance. They seem to lose their way when they have more than 4 of 5 tables.“

“I sat at the bar and was served by Jon. Jon was super attentive and answered every question I had. Roger, the owner, was making my sushi and sashimi. The service by Jon and Roger were absolutely wonderful. The food was amazing, fresh, and each piece perfectly flavor balanced. I will absolutely come back here and bring friends. I cannot recommend Hane enough. The whole staff was friendly and greeted most guests that walked in by name giving me the impression that this place has a lot of repeat locals.“

“They were very busy when we got there and there was a bit of a wait for a party of 4 but once we were inside they were very friendly and quick to take our order and quick to serve our food. The rolls were really yummy. Everything tasted fresh and the veggie tempura roll was very big. We were very full by the end of the meal and took home leftovers.“

“We visited San Diego again and this is always a MUST GO restaurant/ experience for us. We love it!! We also compared it head to head against another omakase place in San Diego that had a Michelin star.. sushi maru is a better value and better experience overall. I am surprised it does NOT have a Michelin star yet.. it certainly will in the near future“

“My wife and I recently found this place and love it so much we came back the next day. We got salmon nigiri, pho, bahn mi, soft shell crab hand roll and tuna nigiri.

We were a little skeptical when ordering the sushi since the interior isn’t the nicest looking, but looks are deceiving! The salmon, tuna, and crab were very fresh, and the portions were great as well! The pho had amazing flavor too. We asked for the meat on the side, and it was very fresh and delicious. The bahn mi is my favorite in San Diego, everytime I order it the bread tastes like they just made it, and the meat seasoning is crazy good.

The owner (I think) is very friendly and kind too, and always makes sure we get our food quickly!

Don’t let the old bad reviews sway your visit, this place has delicious and fresh sushi, pho, and bahn mi, for an extremely reasonable price which is hard to find in San Diego. We will be back regularly!“

“Dope Spot! Had the Clams Sakamushi, healed my stomach from my mistakes of day drinking. The paired sake with it was fire. Vibes on point, aesthetic was awesome! Looked so cool and a fun spot for some sake! We rolled up 8 people and luckily we were able to get seats but took but the long side of the bar.“

“Great food! Everyone was friendly and helpful. Atmosphere was nice and we were able to sit outside which looks like it would have shade almost all afternoon. Happy hour from 3-6 was a great value!!
Apps were so tasty! Sweet/spicy Brussels, garlic edamame, tempura all delightful. Delicious sauces (very important) and nice size cuts of fish on nigiri. We will definitely be back. Convenient location with parking is the cherry on top. 😁👍“

“Picked up an order to bring home on a lazy Sunday. Order was ready 5 min early from the ETA time. Pleasant guys with French accents gave me the order.
The presentation is very professional and everything we had was fresh and excellent (yellowtail and eel nigiri, spicy tuna roll, cucumber salad and shrimp tempura).

“Decided to stop in for some sushi on my last night here in San Diego. The place was small, but flavors were huge! I ordered two appetizers and two rolls, and all of it was fantastic quality.
