Emiliano was our waiter and absolutely made the experience. We let him help guide us through the menu, and he did not disappoint.

We started with the pear and beet salad and masa-fried squash blossoms, then worked our way through the Vietnamese pork meatballs and lamb seekh, and finished with the Wagyu burger. Every dish brought something completely different to the table, which made sharing everything even more fun.

The food was beautifully presented, full of flavor, and just adventurous enough without trying too hard. Add the atmosphere of being right in the heart of Balboa Park, and it made for such a memorable meal.

Definitely ask for Emiliano and let him help you choose you won't be disappointed.“

They charge $1 for literally the smallest piece I've ever seen and when I called to voice my concern about feeling ripped off, they didn't care. I feel like if you're paying $20 for a bowl of ramen you should get what you pay for“

“The noodles for Beef brisket noodles soup and cold noodle soup were fabulous. Mild spicy for the noodle soup was enough spice for a kick without being overwhelming. Beef was very tender. The cold noodles was a favorite. The noodles were chewy and paired with a sesame sauce. The lamb stir fry (not pictured) was ok. Lamb meat was tender but did not expect the greens to be all cilantro.“

The Satay chicken was tender and flavorful....Pad Woon Sen was fresh and light with crispy vegetables. Cream cheese wontons were great and served as dessert. “Been eating here since I was about 5, now at 40 I could finish their bowl on my own thank goodness ?, thank goodness the flavor is still the same. Same owners/cook since i was 5,. Tried other restaurants in LA china town and still not as good as this one. Even though i live farther away mow, i still drive there to get their special noodle soup (been eating since i was 5), eveyone i introduced this restuarant too now loves it. People who loves pho, once they try there noodles soup they can't do pho anymore. Fried egg noodles soup also to die for, including their thick fried noodles, i can go on forever with all their different dishes that will show you what asain/homemade style food is. I've tasted many different chinese food from here to Seattle/Mexicali and this to me is still the restaurant that others try to match up too. ??????“

“Just keep in mind I came here on a Monday at 6 PM so we didn't have to wait for a table or battle for parking. This parking lot was not turned into a paid lot try. It's where Chorus and Hive are. It's still fairly new so the menu is slightly limited. We saw photos of dishes on the wall but were told they were not available until next year. The jjajangmyeon was slightly watery. I got the "meat" one so there were strips of grilled pork. My husband got the "spicy" one which was green chili on top. It was not crazy spicy according to him but it was not that painful spicy. We got the chili shrimp and I really liked that. It was crispy, fried jumbo shrimp over with sweet chili sauce on a bed of cabbage. It had enough heat making your lips feel some heat. I liked it even though it's not a fancy dish. If I don't have to come on a busy weekend night I'm down to come back.

Oh just be ready to order on really slow tablets but your order gets through as long you're patient with the tablets. The tables are far enough where you feel like you're not on top of each other like at other restaurants in Convoy.“

“This restaurant came highly recommended and it did not disappoint. I tried the Roast Duck Noodle Soup and Walnut Shrimp. The duck was really delicious with a very nice broth. Every bite was a delight. I enjoyed the shrimp - plump and juicy with a lightly citrus white sauce and roasted walnuts. I would order it again, but there are a lot of items on their extensive menu that I would also like to try. Very nice, low key service. Clean and pleasant dining room.“

“Was in the San Diego area craving some drunken noodles (Pad Kee Mao or Mow) and asked Google to help me find one close.

The ordering process went smoothly as I looked at the website and called in my order.

Picking up was ok. It is a little house that has been converted into this restaurant and I walked right past it. When you go, look for the little yellow house that is set back a little bit from the street.

As I was paying for my meal, I asked if there were any Yelp discounts. He said no discounts and it is a 3% fee to use your credit card.

The Panang Curry was amazing. Lots of flavor. Perfectly cooked rice and they go together so well. Great consistency, plenty of carrots with come chicken (that was my chosen protein) and other veggies. I was surprised that when I opened the curry, it was still piping hot. And they wrapped the container in plastic wrap in addition to the cover being on it. Love when restaurants do that as it decreases the chance of spills.

The drunken noodles was what I was craving to begin with and I found out lacking. Not much flavor and to be honest, I was hoping to have had some Thai Basil in it. To be fair, it didn't mention that on their menu. It just adds so much flavor and without it, it is too bland for me. I'm also accustomed to much more saucy noodles and these are very dry. When I have leftovers, I will add some Huy Fong Sambal Oelek Chili Paste.

Over all, I would go again. However, I'll stick with the curry next time.“

“The food was amazing. We had Drunken Noodle, Pad See-Ew, and Cashew Chicken and were very happy with all of them. The service was a little slow but we didn’t care because we weren’t in a rush. The staff was friendly and was able to get us what we needed. The restaurant is clean and the seats are comfortable. I would highly recommend getting there a little before noon to avoid the lunch crowd rush.“

“Just be aware that an automatic gratuity is added for groups of six or more. Great to see Japanese chefs and Japanese speaking staff at the izakaya. They offer authentic Japanese dishes that you don't often see at other places. The poke bowl and tuna bowl were really good. I love the teishoku style meals with miso soup, pickled veggies, and all the little side dishes. Miso soup was really good! Lots of variety on the menu! The staff were very friendly too.“

One of the waitresses was extremely rude and unprofessional throughout my interaction with her. “Got the burrito and rangoon roll! I think we wanted the roll to be crispier since it’s so “mushy” inside. Maybe like an extra crunchy outside layer would help with the texture and overall satisfaction. We were looking for a little more from it rather than just creamy mush and occasional crab flavor.

The spicy basil thai beef burrito, level 3 spice was yummy! Tastes how you would expect it to. Lime was sooo good on it too. We filled up pretty fast on the rangoon so we could save the burrito for breakfast tomorrow 🤤

Overall good to try if you’re in the area but not something we would go out of our way for. With so many really good food places around, I don’t think we would circle back to this for quite some time.“

“My family of 4 had dinner at Pho Convoy last night. Simon is just incredible. My husband put too much chili oil in my daughter’s pho leaving it inedible for her. We were ready to order another bowl but Simon stopped us a from doing that, he took her bowl, tossed the spicy broth and gave her new broth. Very sweet and great customer service.
We also had the egg rolls and chicken vermicelli. All very flavorful and filling. The place isn’t fancy, but it’s cozy.

“I have been coming to this Chinese Restaurants for as long as I can remember. Their food has always been delicious but their customer service was definitely not there. Because of this, I previously gave them a one star. The staff were always rude and their phone line was basically non operational. I continued to have takeout or eat at the restaurant despite this because they sell the best salt and pepper chicken wings in San Diego. Seriously, they are a must try. I'm not sure what changed but I've noticed the staff are much nicer now. These are the same folks that have been running the place for years. The food tastes better when the workers are nice and constantly checking if you need anything. It is so much better than having grumpy staff around. Overall, there has been significant improvement in customer service. The palace also feels homier and parking is not bad.“
