“My experience at this restaurant was enjoyable, especially with the customizable stone pots and the option to personalize the broth with condiments and meats. The concept of individualized bowls was appealing, although I found the quality of the meat and fish to be average. The spicy broth was flavorful, but it felt like you get what you pay for - decent quality at an affordable price. Service was attentive, and the ambiance was laid-back. Although I returned once after my initial visit, my impressions remained unchanged, so I haven't revisited since. Despite this, I'd recommend giving it a try to form your own opinion--it might just hit the spot for you.“
“Did they change their noodles? This was one of my favorite ramen shops in San Diego, because of the fresh noodles, but they the texture has been different the past few times.Editing after the restaurant response: Thank you for letting us know of the shipment delays!“
“So pleasantly surprised by this place! We got the both XLB flavors, a couple of the dumplings, orange chicken and chicken chow mein. The noodles in the chow mein were slightly overcooked but that didn't take away from the flavor. All the dumplings were delicious and the orange chicken was some of the best I've had. Crispy and sweet but not overly sweet. We have picky kids and all of them devoured the food. Prices were fair and we are looking forward to returning! Service was great, waitstaff were nice and food came out quick!“
“Great spot! I pulled into the parking lot to go to the taco shop next door, but when I saw this place, I recognized the name from Uber Eats. I moved into the neighborhood recently, so I'm still learning about my new local options. I ordered a curry dish, yellow, with brown rice and mock duck as the protein. It was great! I ordered to go but hung out while I waited. I caught the end of the Michigan University championship game. I noticed the place was clean, had a nice vibe, and the seating was comfortable. It might be a place where I would watch another game. Most people don't think of watching sports at a Thai restaurant. I'm anxious to try some of the other dishes. What I ordered was flavorsome, tender, and packaged well. I will return“
“We ordered Pho, Salt and Pepper wings, Egg Rolls, and Mi Quang. Everything was delicious. Staff was wonderful, parking can be tough as there is a cafe in this same plaza and a Laundromat as well. Prices are decent and the food comes quickly. The nuoc mam cham we had was a little off than what I'm used to but another time we had it, it tasted a lot better so possibly just an off day for them. I can't recommend the salt and pepper wings enough, packed with flavor and very crispy. Perfect balance of salty and sweet. Would come again!“
“Went here because of the good reviews and a recommendation. Like mentioned in other reviews, be prepared to wait a long time for your meal! It is a small place, and they don’t take reservations. You can enter a waitlist.I waited for more than an hour, but I feel like it was worth it (I was veeeerry hungry though). I ordered the karaage (it was okay, I definitely had better), and the tonkotsu ramen. This came with a homemade chilipaste and some finely chopped garlic. I would highly recommend to add these to the ramen, because it really enhances the flavours, otherwise it is quite bland, but after the addition I slurped it up very quickly!Very kind staff!“
“Excellent Taiwanese food! Staff are very friendly and service is top notch. Food has been better in the past, but it's still delicious. Sticky rice needed a bit of salt. XLB is always a treat. Everything is well thought out and carefully produced - from the food to the service to the decor.Parking: Parking is for the first two hours, then $3/hr“
“Our go-to place with friends and family. They have a lot of good dishes for everyone and can accommodate large groups. My little one loves the calamari appetizer, my other child always gets the Pho and my favorite dish is the vermicelli bowls. The staff is super friendly. It's the perfect spot for a casual and enjoyable meal.“
“This place was SO amazing! Every dish was so thoughtfully crafted and creatively presented (all paired with a beautiful edible flower) The portions were perfect, prices were very fair, the ambiance of the restaurant reflected the taste of love within the food. Highly recommend.Vegetarian options: Mango curryPapaya SaladGuava SaladGreen SaladVeggie EggrollsAnd more!“
“TL;DR good spot with some amazing items (e.g. intestine spicy noodles) albeit slightly lacking in depth of soup flavor but worthy of a late-night meal Spicy Noodle is a good spot with a small selection of noodle dishes with some accompanying side dishes like lamb skewers and other from the Chengdu region of China. Most of the staff here spoke fluent Mandarin and you have an ordering system similar to what you'd find in prototypical Chinese establishments. That shouldn't deter you, this place is a good spot to satisfy a noodle craving Here's where I'll be a little bit more critical. The meal itself was decently priced around $17 for a single person ordering one item after taxes/tip. The food wasn't spicy imo and barely broke a sweat albeit I do enjoy spice so this could also be an individual scenario. The broth was also somewhat lacking in depth of flavor. It could have been that the intestines soaked up most of the flavor as the intestines were much more flavor-packed, however, I enjoy a richer broth and this was slightly stronger than the seasoning you might get with some spicy noodle packet All that is to say, it wasn't the most impressive place but the intestines noodle dish was above satisfactory simply because it's a hard dish especially cleaning the intestines from having a gritty texture. I commend them for this alone, everything else are nitpicks for me but would definitely consider returning as they had some other dishes that caught my eye like their spicy beef noodle dish“
“A little bit of Portland, OR (pre COVID) in the heart of San Diego Beach country. My wife and I tried OB last night and we were not disappointed. So far this is the best restaurant we have enjoyed in the San Diego area and I highly recommend it to anyone who enjoys a good fried rice dish. The setting is a half bar and half restaurant but even with two kids we didn't feel out of place nor did we feel like we were in an adult only place. I highly recommend OBs if you want a good meal near Mission Bay.“
“I'm not as familiar with Chinese cuisine beyond the obvious, so I couldn't have found LanZhou without a recommendation from a friend. Thankfully I found it! Super fresh noodles in several shapes and sizes in so many sauces, or dry, or in a soup. I had the soup and was very pleased. I ordered a few other dishes from the pretty long menu for which I had no preconceived expectations at all, and they didn't impress like the noodles. My wife had the noodles in a saucy dish, which was also delicious. The atmosphere is brightly lit and colorful, and feels a little like fast food ambience, but the friendly, informative servers were fast and attentive, so that impression evaporated quickly. Nom nom!“
“Came here for happy hour.(+) Cool vibes. Looks like an old ramen bar with some tables along the sides of the restaurant.(+) Awesome happy hour deals.(+) Chili wontons.(+) Beef roll. Super good, loved the sauces they used, the beef was very tender, and the scallion pancake was super crispy and delicious.(+) Popcorn chicken. Healthy serving size.(-) Pork over noodle. I really liked the noodles themselves but it was SO salty I couldn't eat it.(+) Cocktails were good - the lychee colada and the guava margarita.(-) I do question the cleanliness standards a bit. I saw the person serving us do two questionable things that made me ? while we were there. (1) He grabbed a bunch of dirty napkins full-handed while bussing a seat and didn't wash his hands afterwards. (2) Saw him sneeze into his hand and then proceed to serve without washing his hands. The beef noodle soup looked good. I'd be curious to try the sesame wontons. I definitely want more Taiwanese beef roll.“
“Really fun atmosphere with great food! As busy as they were, the service was higher than I expected so kudos to the staff. Food was amaaaaazing. Cocktails were great too. We had the garlic spicy wings and their house special friend rice - a must try!!“
“Always love it there. Just went there last night and I was so frazzled from a bad day and both the man who worked there and the woman at the register were so nice to me. I was being that annoying customer not able to decide on the menu. I was between curry and pad Thai and she gave me such a great recommendation to get the khao soi which is egg noodle with curry base so I kinda get both. I never had it before and I loved it and will now be part of my usual order when I want Thai.“
“It's my favorite ramen spot. I drive 35 minutes to get here! I highly recommend the newest special #1!I took my boyfriend and his mom and they loved it! It's great for fun dates, and family nights. The kids food options are great too.“
“Honestly, I was a bit surprised by this place, considering its touristy location!I did stop by here, around 2pm, so it wasn't crowded. It's such a cute gem. The faux chinese lantern lighting is absolutely adorable. Love the wide booth seating that draws your eyes to the built-in bookshelves in the back of the room, making this place look so chic and cozy at the same time. The music here gives me a chill lounge vibe: acoustic versions of famous songs without lyrics.Prices are a bit higher, but I think the quality of the food, service, and atmosphere is worth it!I had the Choo chee duck and it was delicious. I had my curry on the side, so the duck was on the dry side (crispy skin!), but it was great with the sauce, and you can be sure their rice was the right consistency :) The Thai tea was as expected! The amount of food for me was a lot!Enjoy!“
“The food was authentic and tasted great! The xiao long bao is one of the best I’ve ever had! Service was okay. You can’t really customize the food if it were for children. For example, we wanted the orange chicken but with the sauce on the side. They couldn’t do it or maybe they didn’t understand us but that’s okay. They could really improve by greeting you with a smile and thanking you as you walk out. A friendly demeanor is what I meant. We walked in right before dinner time so it was really busy right after we sat down and the place was a full house with lots of noise. Understandable, but overall, a good experience.“
“My family and I have been coming to this wonderful restaurant for well over a decade now, and every time we come the food is just as delicious as ever. Everything we have tried on the menu has been great, and this has been our go-to for Thai food since we first ate here years ago. The owner and staff are so incredibly kind and friendly, and we are forever patrons of this lovely restaurant. :)“
“We came here for Easter and the food was delicious. They go above and beyond. Atmosphere is warm and spacious, service extremely friendly.Vegetarian options: I’ve been vegetarian over a decade and nearly everything can be customized to be vegetarian with tofu or vegetables. Several vegetarian appetizers.“
“Tried this new little cozy place in my neighborhood that just opened, and it did not dissapoint. Food was amazing all freshly cooked. I ordered to go and my family loved it. The Drunken noodles with beef and shrimp was my favorite dish. The yellow curry was very tasty. Thai fried rice was on point and the crispy veggie eggrolls were good. Last but not least ..The mango sticky rice was excellent. Definetely will be coming back soon to try the Pad Thai noodles and the soups.??this could a new hidden ?. Enjoy!“
“Delicious! We got the dumpling and wonton egg noodle soup, the combo egg noodle soup (#27), veggie egg rolls, and fried dough ("donuts"). The donuts were warm, nice and crispy on the outside, soft and chewy on the inside. Egg noodles were delicious and broth for both our soups were excellent.“
“Our favorite in San Diego north county. Great quality, reasonable prices, friendly staff. On the rare occasion they made a mistake, they bc protected it and added something extra too :)They are also good with allergy customers, ensuring no gluten, dairy etc“
“Despite shortage of staff, these family owners/cook/server have been so kind to feed my family with authentic Khmer/Angkorian dishes which I used to travel to Long Beach to obtain/enjoy! I like to continue to support such family who was forced to come to America, like my family, due to unfinished Nixon's war since 1969. God bless them!“
“This place is 3 blocks away from home and every time we go the family that owns it has treated our family of 4 with kindness and patience - we have a 6 and a 4 year old. The sushi is great, the soup, also, prices, reasonable and the proximity to home priceless.“
“The menu is varied, descriptive and contains photos of the entrees listed. I was very happy with the basil chicken. We also had spicy Thai noodles and another item; all delicious. The service is outstanding.Parking: Parking is located directly behind the restaurant, off a narrow side street. It is easy to miss if you are not looking for it.Wheelchair accessibility: Very accessible from the parking lot and into the restaurant using the rear entrance.“
“I started with the brussels sprouts, very tasty! Then I had the creamy chicken ramen with added corn, and it was really good! They have a chilipaste (I think?) that you can add if you want more spice. Good vibes in the restaurant (not loud music), very kind staff.“
“Delicious fresh and healthy. First time trying will definitely go back when in SD. Thank you to the lovely women in the back for preparing this meal. It tastes authentic and home cooked. I got the mixed vegetables with rice (the broth is excellent and had hearty cuts of vegetables) and the drunken noodles, perfect amount of spicy.“
“This place was spectacular. Best Thai I have had in SD and you wouldn’t think from its location in PB but elegant at the same time as chilled and relaxed. Always a lot of people there enjoying their meal along with a lot of folks waiting for pickup. They are super quick making the food and always hand it to you with a “
“One of my go to spots in San Diego. Every time I've been the food is always great and I find myself craving it when I haven't been. Highly recommend the eggplant with garlic sauce, probably the best eggplant I've had. The service is always quick and they staff is super friendly, the ordering is also self-service online vía a QR code which is convenient and easy to use. Overall 10/10 would absolutely recommend and will be back!“
“A hidden Thai place that hits the right spots for a delicious lunch and dinner venue. We had heard some great things about this local Thai restaurant and decided to give it a shot and it more than lived up to the hype! The ambiance is simple and decorative and sets the tone.We ordered off the lunch deal portion of the menu, but the rest of the menu covers everything you could want from a Thai place. The prices are very reasonable too!We ordered the pad Thai and another noodle dish, and a couple of Thai teas with boba as well. The lunch specials are great as you get soup with it, salad, dumplings, egg roll and a smaller dish sized main. Completely worth and will fill you up! Plus the food was delicious! The service was sharp and attentive, always keeping and eye on us!Check this place out before it gets too busy!“
“So delicious! The soup that comes with the lunch special knocked my socks off. The prices are great. Outstanding noodles. Friendly, efficient service. Feels like eating at a little hole in the wall on a Thai island, except with real chairs (iykyk). I'll be back.“
“Very bold move to open a jack of all trades restaurant in a place where you can get almost the best of specialized asian cruisines. That being said, the tonkotsu ramen and Popcorn chicken were very impressive. I highly recommend. Especially because it's hard to find $15 dollar ramens nowadays that still gives you all the amenities that belong in a good bowl of ramen.Popcorn chicken was freshly fried, well seasoned and delicious. Very happy with those two purchases. My wife wasn't too happy with the curry udon, but imo it's her fault for ordering it in the first place. It's not the restaurant's fault that curry doesn't belong with noodles haha. But if curry with noodles is your thing, it's got everything you'd want in there, plus they add cheese too.Come give them a try. I'm sure I'm not the only one skeptical since they do a few different cuisines.“
“The roast duck slurp was delicious. The spices was perfect. They put the broth and the noodles in separate containers. The service was quick, and the broth was very hot. We ate outside of the Liberty Public Market building where there were tables and an outdoor sink. The weather was good.“
“I got the Singapore noodle dish with vegetables and it was so delicious! I got a level 5 spice and it was just the right amount. The portion size was a lot bigger than I had expected so it lasted me a while. I also got the fried tofu as a side and equally as delicious! Would recommend if you ever want to try a new Thai dish or stick to your comfort!“
“So good we had to go two Saturdays in a row! Ordered pad Thai, pad see ew, Thai Basil, Panang Curry, & all of it phenomenal. Best Thai flavors we have had I think. We got it to-go and the gentleman kindly brought it over before I was fully out of the car. Everything hot and fresh. Spice level is high so maybe go down a number or two from your usual spice level ?“
“Black bean noodle and deep-fried pork came out pretty fast. Both are delicious! The noodle is bouncy and chewy, the black bean sauce is sweet and not bitter at all. The tangsuyuk is crunchy and the sour sauce compliments it so well. This is a big serving for 2 people and it’s only $27. You can’t go wrong with this combo. 10/10“
“Really really tasty and authentic jajangmyeon. When I'm in the area grocery shopping I will make a special trip into Zion just to get noodles here. It's a cute little spot tucked away in a food court but don't be fooled - the quality and taste is superior to restaurant jajangmyeon! There's also a super nice guy at the register who genuinely wants to ensure everyone loves their food. He even checks with customers before they close to see if they need a box or want anything else!! If you want a hidden gem, this is it!“
“The food items were delicious, great selection of interesting dishes. The wine list was impressive (we’ve been to major wine areas all over the planet). However, what we were most impressed with was our server Olivia. She knew the menu items very well - could answer any and all questions that we had. She expressed herself very positively. Rather than ask “are you still working on that?”; she asked “are you still enjoying your meal?” Rather than reply to a thank you with “no problem” or “no worries”; Olivia replied with “my pleasure.” When we go back; we’ll make a point of asking for Olivia!!!“
