“The food was delicious overall, especially the grilled meat—it was definitely the highlight of the meal! The meat was incredibly tender and smooth, with a rich, natural beef flavor that really stood out.
The Tonkotsu ramen was also very good. The broth was flavorful and delicious, and the pork was tender, juicy, and not chewy at all.
However, the service could definitely be improved. The service felt a bit unorganized, and the staff didn’t seem to pay much attention to the customers. We had to keep calling someone over whenever we needed something.
Overall, the food was great, but the service experience could have been much better.“

“My Son and I enjoyed their faire and it was exquisite! A lot of subtle flavors which is indicative of Japanese cuisine. The service was very good and the Manager Jasmine ensured that we were taken care of. Overall a great dining experience. I highly recommend them if you’re ever in the San Diego region.“

“Fast casual Japanese eatery specializing in ramen and small rice bowls. Go-to place for the family to pick up takeout or eat in the common food court area within the Mitsuwa grocery store.

A family favorite is the char siu rice bowl (side dish #45). It is simple comfort food with warm and plump short grain rice, topped with tender pork and freshly sliced green onions. The shichimi (seven flavor chili powder) offered at the counter is a nice complement.

The Hiyashi ramen is a cold noodle summer special. Two slices of tender pork, green onions, red pickled ginger, thinly sliced cucumber, and other goodies. Santouka offers three types of sauce - tried the spicey sauce, but felt the mala overpowered the dish a bit. Would recommend the shoyu or sesame sauces and then adding shichimi for more heat.“

“Your Ramen is truly delicious, noodles bouncy and chewy exactly how you want them to be. The Karaage is crispy and juicy, and most of your other food is absolutely delicious.

That being said, you guys have got to work on your gyoza… it’s truly disappointing. You can tell you either used a bunch of water chestnut or onion or something else crunchy to fill in for a lot of the meat. My Chinese wife’s mother would be REALLY disappointed in the flavor and filling for the price you’re charging. Hell she’s made some freaking amazing gyoza at twice the size at a price you might be able to make even in California for a profit. Also, make some dumpling sauce that isn’t just soy sauce. A little rice wine vinegar and sweet soy sauce and maybe a touch of chili oil goes a long way.

All this to say I wish I could give your food a 4.9 if this rating system would let me but I also just had to let this out because that is really the only thing I found with this restaurant that needed improvement. Loved everything else with a gut that would satisfy a Japanese business man. Thanks for the incredible ramen!“

“Solid noodle spot, but the flavors don’t hit quite the same as the Clairmont location. Atmosphere feels a little less inviting too probably because you pay right at the entrance, which gives more food court vibes than ramen hangout energy. That said, the self-serve sauce station is elite. Spicy mayo, garlic, ginger, chili oil, mayo, and more lets you customize everything exactly how you want. Big plus for the easy-access to-go plates too. Overall, convenient mall location with some nice perks, even if the OG spot still wins.“

“Covid-19 take out can be a hit or miss with food tasting like it's container. This place did not disappoint. I ordered the Vegan Ramen for a late lunch. Inside the restaurant is following proper protocol and is very clean. I have always ordered Vegan Ramen anywhere I visit outside of California, and have ordered all over San Diego. This by far is the BEST Vegan Ramen out there. The coconut milk, chili and miso broth is well balanced and buttery, the noodles and added ingredients are well proportioned, the tofu is not at all mushy or greasy..The noodles are fresh and delicious. for a couple dollars more you can add more noodles.. Definitely a stop for some comfort food!“

“I'll start off by saying that I'm a dedicated Tajima fan...that being said, Silver Lake definitely satisfied my Tonkatsu Ramen and Pork Bun craving while at UTC. The service was excellent, the facility was clean, and the food was flavorful and cooked right. The pork belly had that slight crispy skin without being dried out and the housing mayo was delightful. The atmosphere was somewhat bustling (went on a Saturday at 12:30ish) and actually reminded me of a busy city environment, which felt right. This honestly isn't the kind of place that needs to be quiet to make sense. Quick take from looking around the restaurant and seeing I was the only haole present let me know I was in the right place for bomb eats. Oh yeah, prices were on point as well for the value and portion sizing...tell your friends.“

“Clean store with polite staff and good quality sushi. It’s my go to when I’m feeling too lazy to make anything for lunch or if I’m shopping nearby. I also love that they are one of the only places around here that have zaru soba, and my husband says their baked salmon roll is his favorite of all time. The staff remember you if you come in more than once and have excellent service too!“

“this was the very first time i ate something so delicious that i felt like writing a review on how good it is, our server was extremely kind we felt very welcomed there. the drinks and appetizers got to the table in 3-5 minutes and the entrees got to the table around 10 minutes after ordering them(we did not feel rushed btw i really appreciated the fast service) and when my ramen got to the table it was amazing, the broth was rich and creamy and just the right amount of salty, the noodles were delicious and not too mushy but were still nice and soft, the pork was so rich and flavorful and it just melts in your mouth and the way that the flavors all came together was truly enlightening.“

“Very good ramen spot. The aesthetic of the place was nice and relaxing. It does tend to get hot in that place.

The food: by far one of the better ramen spots ove had. The ramen was absolutely flavorful, with excellent cuts of meats. All of the sides came out delicious, the sauces were on point.
My only gripe, but not worthy of dropping a star is the tsukimen. The tsukimen broth is WAY too liquidy, to the point that you oughtta just dump the bowl in the broth and call it regular ramen. My many years of japan the dipping ramen broth was always thick and flavorfull and sticks to whatever you dip in. The is the first place ive experienced doing tsukimen in such a different manner.

Other than that one thing, the food is amazing and well presented.“

“Craving for ramen on a Saturday while in Kearny, so we tried Raki-Raki.

Lot of menus offered, but we ended up ordering:

Original Hakata Tonkotsu Ramen - creamy white soup broth. I guess we’re used to other tonkotsu ramen tastes, more seasoned than this one. Chashu pork was overcooked and too lean. Not a big fan of their ramen toppings. Noodles were good. 4/5

RakiRaki Bento Box - great portion. Gyoza, Takoyaki, RakiRaki roll were all good. Karaage was just crispy, missing seasoning, it was just bland. I guess adding salt and pepper before breading or with the breading probably makes it taste better. 4/5

“I recently picked up some food to go, and it was the perfect choice for a night out by the water. Everything was packed thoughtfully, including those cute heart-shaped containers that made for such a fun beach picnic setup.

The sushi was fresh and flavorful, and the ramen had a perfectly cooked egg with a rich broth. We really enjoyed the variety in our order. It was such a great meal under the moon, and I will definitely be back for more soon.“

“Been a minute since we have eaten at Silverlake Ramen. Ordered the Ramen Combo - Tonkotsu Ramen with grilled chicken and a side of gyoza (4 pieces). We also ordered a side of edamame. Washed it down with a cold glass of Sapporo. The Ramen was perfect in its miso soup. The Thousands Island-Aioli sauce (that’s what it tasted like) had a nice lil kick for the gyoza. Edamame was a good starter as usual. Service was okay. Domo arigato gozare masu.“

“Hands down the best ramen I’ve had! Everything was delicious - we had the garlic spicy edamame, oxtail ramen, and spare-rib ramen. We asked for non-pork broths and were given two great alternatives that were perfectly paired with our ramen orders. The atmosphere and service were excellent. Highly recommend!
