“Menya Hanabi is a Japanese restaurant specializing in Nagoya-style mazesoba, a dry ramen-style noodle dish that focuses on bold flavors and mixing everything together rather than relying on broth. The restaurant keeps the setup casual and modern, with a simple ordering process and a menu centered around different variations of mazesoba. It has the kind of atmosphere that works well for a quick but satisfying meal, especially if you are looking for something different from traditional ramen.
The main reason to visit is the Nagoya mazesoba, and it delivers on what makes the dish popular. The noodles have a thick, chewy texture that holds up well once mixed with the toppings and sauce. The deluxe version is especially worth trying, loaded with ingredients like minced pork, chashu, egg, seaweed, green onions, fish powder, and garlic. The key is to mix everything together before eating, since each ingredient adds another layer of flavor and creates a much more balanced bite. The richness of the sauce and toppings can feel heavy at first, but adding vinegar toward the end helps cut through the richness and keeps the bowl enjoyable all the way through.
Beyond the mazesoba, the side dishes are also worth adding to the order. The takoyaki and potato croquettes are good choices if you want something extra alongside the noodles, with a crispy exterior and freshly made texture. The matcha drinks are also a nice addition, especially since they provide a lighter option to balance out the heavier flavors of the meal.
The ordering process is straightforward, though the restaurant can get busy during peak hours. Since it is a popular spot, arriving earlier can help avoid a wait. Portions are filling and the flavors are strong, so it is a good option when you are craving something hearty rather than a lighter noodle dish.
Overall, Menya Hanabi stands out because it does one thing really well: mazesoba. The combination of chewy noodles, bold seasoning, and customizable toppings makes it a memorable alternative to typical ramen spots. If you enjoy rich, flavorful noodle dishes and want to try a style that is less common, this is definitely worth adding to your list.“

“I’m really pleased with Le Shrimp Irvine. Their Hainanese chicken rice is the best I’ve had locally so far—the rice was flavorful, the ginger sauce was excellent, and the broth was rich, though slightly on the salty side.
My only disappointment was the chicken. I’m not really a fan of plain breast meat; I prefer the bone-in breast and drumstick pieces with skin, which I was told was an option. I was also informed they were out of the skinless breast meat, so I expected to receive the bone-in option I had ordered, but I still ended up with breast meat.
Overall, I’d rate the Hainanese chicken rice a 4.0. It tastes very authentic, with that Malaysian/Singaporean style I really enjoy.
I also tried the Shrimp Broth Trio Noodles with veggies, prawns, prawn balls, and wontons, and I loved the shrimp flavor. The broth reminded me of the Har Mee soup base I’ve had before, but with a richer, creamier, ramen-style twist. The fusion works well, and the flavor was delicious, but with a bowl packed with noodles, shrimp, wontons, and toppings, it became a bit too rich by the end. I would personally prefer it a little lighter and more brothy, but overall it was still very satisfying.
I’m excited to try more dishes. I also heard the owner is Singaporean and the chef is from Malaysia—fabulous!“

“The second HiroNori I have been to and it is just as good as the first. The ramen is very delicious with a nice and short simple menu. The tonkotsu ramen is rich and flavorful with nice portions. You line up and order at the counter and the friendly staff bring out the food to your table.“

“Delicious ramen. We tried the black garlic one and our daughter tried the shio with added egg. Small size is perfect for a child or if not too hungry. Husband and I shared a large and it was plenty for both. Inside Mitzuwa. After eating your meal you can get dessert inside the store. Very convenient.“

“I was a patient at Hoag Irvine. For lunch I decided to have delivery from this Japanese restaurant.
All I can say was that I'm glad I did.
The sushi was very tasty and fresh with nice size portions. I'll be back with friends minus the hospital stay.
Cheers“
