“Great spot even after the name change! Food is still the same. Portion size is good, and you still get that bit of rice after for the leftover sauce.
The servers were quick and attentive, food also came out quickly. There wasn't too long of a wait either!“

“Hokkaido Ramen Santouka has been one of my favorite ramen spots for over a decade, and after all these years, they still never fail when it comes to taste, consistency, and quality. Even after moving away from Southern California, every time I come back to visit, this is one of the first places I crave for pure nostalgia and comfort.
What makes Santouka so special is how incredibly consistent they are. The broth tastes exactly the same every single time you order it — rich, balanced, deeply flavorful, and clearly made with care and precision. That level of consistency over so many years is something truly rare and deserves respect. You can tell they take pride in preserving the authenticity and standards of traditional Japanese ramen.
The noodles always have the perfect texture, the chashu is tender and flavorful, and every bowl feels thoughtfully prepared. Nothing feels rushed or careless. Even when busy, the wait is usually reasonable and the quality never drops.
There is a reason Santouka has built such a loyal following. It is not just ramen — it is reliability, craftsmanship, and comfort in a bowl. The chefs and staff deserve so much credit for maintaining such a high standard for so many years. Places like this are hard to find nowadays.
If you want authentic ramen done right with consistency that keeps people coming back for decades, Hokkaido Ramen Santouka is absolutely worth it every single time.“

“Akuma Ramen keeps things simple, and that’s exactly what makes it stand out. The menu is focused and thoughtfully curated, with a clear emphasis on quality over quantity. Every item feels intentional, without unnecessary extras or distractions—just a tight selection of dishes done right.
The ramen itself delivers on every level. The broth is rich and deeply flavorful without being overwhelming, and the noodles have an ideal texture that gives each bite a satisfying mouthfeel. Everything comes together in a way that feels balanced and refined, making it clear that attention to detail is a priority here.
There’s a refreshing no-frills approach to the entire experience. Akuma Ramen isn’t trying to be trendy or overcomplicated—it’s simply committed to serving excellent food. In a place like Huntington Beach, that straightforward focus on quality makes it a standout spot worth coming back to.“

“Waited approximately one hour to be seated. Spoiker: it was well worth that wait. I ordered the tonkatsu ramen and pork buns. I can't decide which part was better, the noodles or the broth! The pork buns were priced just right at $8 for 2. Some of the best I've had. You are all so lucky to have such a wonderful ramen bar in your community. I am from Maine and will be sure to stop by this establishment every chance I get once I am in town.“

“Vegan ramen with vegan gyoza as an appetizer. Your welcome. But seriously this place is amazingly delicious. Manager is great, the level of service from this man is above and beyond, the server forgot a side of rice(for my daughter) and something else small like a side of broth I can’t remember now, but the order was for takeout and I didn’t check the food before I left because they’re always on point. When I got home I checked and then I called to have the items credited to me for next time but, the manager refunded the money to my credit card and he insisted the food be delivered to me. I gave him my address and he personally delivered to my house in Orange from Tustin. Hiro Nori is and will always be my go to spot.“

“An Evening at Kin Izakaya: Where Tradition Meets Ambiance In the culinary haven that our city embodies, Kin Izakaya emerges as a sanctuary of authentic Japanese flavors combined with the convivial spirit typical of Japan’s iconic gastropubs. It’s here that tradition and modernity collide to create not just a meal, but an experience worth savoring. The moment you step through the doors of Kin Izakaya, you’re greeted by an atmosphere that’s both lively and intimately comforting. The ambient lighting, coupled with rustic décor and understated oriental motifs, offers a welcoming reprieve from the city’s hustle and bustle. The soft murmur of patrons engaged in animated conversation sets the backdrop for an authentic izakaya experience. Kin Izakaya’s menu is a harmonious blend of traditional Japanese fare and innovative culinary creations. The tapas-style dishes, perfect for sharing, encourage a communal dining experience. From the delicate flavors of their sashimi to the robust, savory notes found in their yakitori selection, there’s a delightful complexity in each dish presented. The agedashi tofu, with its perfect crispy exterior giving way to silken tofu within, is a testament to the chef’s prowess in honoring traditional flavors while serving contemporary palates.“

“Cute place, great sushi, very fresh.
This is our favorite local spot, they even have a decent happy hour menu if you can get there before 5:30p. And a good deal with 99 cent Saporo (first one, after that it's still only $2.99).
Our favorites are the sashimi roll - no rice with the best sauce, and the truffle salmon carpaccio - with another delicious truffle oil sauce. We love the baked lobster roll, their ramen and udon are both good, and in the end it's not too pricey.“

“😋 Curry Rice Bowl with Tofu at Silverlake Ramen, green tea and a side of avocado 🥑
Homemade curry, mushrooms, pickled cucumbers and sesame seeds 😍
❤️🩹 Their Veggie Ramen and Spicy Veggie Ramen explicitly use a miso base for their broths (salty without raising blood pressure), and you may customize any dish to add miso items for good health.
Staff was super friendly and offered additional hot water without having to request.
Delicious - looking forward to trying the Veggie Ramen next time 🤤“

“Delicious ramen. We tried the black garlic one and our daughter tried the shio with added egg. Small size is perfect for a child or if not too hungry. Husband and I shared a large and it was plenty for both. Inside Mitzuwa. After eating your meal you can get dessert inside the store. Very convenient.“

“It was our first time dining here, and overall the food was good and well-prepared. The ramen uses thin noodles, and the broth was flavorful. We noticed many tables ordering sushi, so we’d love to try that next time as well. We also ordered the fried chicken this time — crispy and paired perfectly with the sauce.“

“I got spicy ramen (the last one in the list) and it was pretty good. The portions are adequate, I didn’t feel like I was gonna explode, but I felt comfortably full. They have a lot of vegetarian options. The prices are on the higher side though, probably due to its location. Otherwise it’s pretty good.
Vegetarian options: Almost all of their ramen have a vegetarian equivalent, and all the broth is vegetarian.
Parking: There are a lot of parking on either side of the mall.
Wheelchair accessibility: The restaurant is on the first floor and there are no steps. Access would be easy for someone on a wheelchair.“

“If you’ve ever driven by this cozy Korean spot with traditional hanok-style windows and a constant line out the door, you’ll know why I’ve been curious about Hangari Kalguksu for a while. I finally caught a quiet weekday afternoon and went in right away.
The menu comes in Korean and English, but the English side is mostly phonetic, so don’t be surprised if it doesn’t help much. I just pointed at the Korean menu and ordered their signature kalguksu ($17.99). They also offer sujebi, rice cake dumpling soup, cold noodles like buckwheat or soybean, plus classics like tteokbokki and fried snacks.
Banchan was simple yeolmu kimchi, light and refreshing. Then came the main event, a massive bowl of kalguksu, easily double the portion you’d expect, with a small side of barley rice (boribap). The broth was surprisingly clean and slightly sweet, loaded with shrimp, clams, potatoes, zucchini, and seaweed.
Pro tip: serve some noodles into your small bowl, then mix in their chili paste and sesame oil. It instantly levels up the flavor. Super comforting and honestly hard to stop eating so I ended up finishing the whole thing without realizing it.
Portions are huge, so sharing isn’t a bad idea. If you can’t finish, just ask for a to-go box.
They accept cash and Visa/Mastercard only.
Also worth noting, there’s another Hangari Kalguksu in LA (ktown) with a similar name and a more expanded menu. Not sure if they’re related, but something to keep in mind if you’re exploring different locations.“

The sushi was very tasty and fresh with nice size portions. I'll be back with friends minus the hospital stay.

“This was one of the coolest experiences, maybe ever. LolIt's not actually a storefront(?), but seems to be this yellow warehouse with a little entry room that has some lockers on one side, a little desk for an attendant built into the wall, and a computer for orderingThe computer has menus for a couple dozen restaurants and your order, then wait for the order to finish and it acts like a doordash or Uber eats for pickup.I ordered sushi. My partners for Mexican food - everybody was happy ?I dunno if its just because we were there at 1 AM, but the parking was PACKED with food trucks that were obviously closed for the night. This place doesn't really *do* atmosphere, per say, but I suppose you could think of it like an Amazon warehouse pickup station.“
