“These were really great crab wontons or rangoons whatever! Nice flavorful crispiness. I would have really preferred to dip into the same sweet and sour sauce that was drizzled on top instead of the water spicy mayo so will request that change if there is a future visit. I have a sore throat so didn’t want any spice in my ramen. Overall good but think the sauce was on the more bland side compared to say Jinya. Probably more flavor as spice levels increase. The soft boiled egg was done perfectly. Overall enjoyed my meal“

“First Timer to a Ramen restaurant and as one should asked about the menu and customer favorites. Service was very helpful, very busy and staff were pleasant. I chose customer favorite and enjoyed it with warm sake. Entree was sufficient but many other tables had starters. I believe I would return to try another dish. 5pm is before the rush, we sat at 6pm and inside sitting was packed.“

“I ordered takeout at Blue Bird Haus on a Friday evening. I ordered online and received quick confirmation and my order was ready fairly quickly as well. It's surprisingly difficult to find sushi places that serve vegan rolls other than avocado/cucumber rolls. Blue Bird Haus has a wonderful selection of vegan rolls, ramen, and appetizers, and more. I ordered the V-Alaskan roll and veggie egg rolls. It was so delicious and filling. FYI it does come with pickled ginger and wasabi and the V-Alaskan is 8 rolls. While delicious, it is pretty expensive but that's to be expected as plant-based alternatives are usually pricey. Either way, this place is delicious and I definitely recommend it.Vegetarian options: There is a vegan section of the menu available online and in the restaurant.“

“I first tried Hiro Nori in 2018 and it's been my preferred ramen since then. The menu is small and definitely not complicated at all. The tonkotsu is really good because it is thick and creamy. The shoyu is my favorite one, though. I like to add on some broccolini, chili paste, and garlic.I like that the edamame has lemon and that the water is infused.“

“My son and I loved this place because it is one of the best ramen restaurants in Long Beach and is comparable to ramen quality in Japan! We know what excellent ramen is, and we also know what excellent customer service is because my son was born and raised in Japan, and I lived in Japan for 30 years. The previous staff was great, but the new staff has made a lot of mistakes, and they don't seem to care as much. We tell them that we like our noodles "firm" or in Japanese "かた麺” or "Katamen". Requesting the firmness of noodles in Japan is normal. The other day, I requested firm noodles, and when I got home they had given us thick noodles instead. We used to love this place, but now we are very disappointed.“

“Our first visit here was fantastic. It's rare to find a restaurant serving animal products that also caters directly to plant-based diets. Eating vegan here was a breeze, and without having to stick to just side dishes and salad. They have several plant-based ramens, starters, and more. The food was exceptional, the staff was wonderful, and prices were fair ($2 for extra noodles is amazing). We will definitely be back soon for more vegan eats.“

“I have been going to this restaurant for 35 years. The food continues to be consistently good. The owner Japanese Chef works in the kitchen . The best tempura for me! I love the salmon sashimi rice! They use chicken without antibiotics. They use good ingredients that’s the reason why chicken tastes so good.“

“If I'm close enough to LBC I tend to get Chinese here as they have a nearly 50/50 menu offering vegan dupes of classics. They have meal specials which will give you drink, egg roll, and entree, so it's very affordable for a substantial dining experience. Over the years they've added ramen (although I secretly miss the rice burger, which was squished between crispy rice patties instead of buns). My fave is the New Orleans chicken. The vegan items are made to order and can take some time, so be prepared to be patient.“

Giraffe Ramen Ramen • $
1388 Daisy Ave, Long Beach

Customers` Favorites

Tonkotsu Ramen

“The Black Garlic Tonkotsu Ramen was perfect for my late night ramen craving! Not only is Giraffe Ramen delicious for takeout, it's actually tastier than many of the ramens I've had dining at ramen shops. It comes topped with wood ear mushrooms, half a soft-boiled egg, bean sprouts, bamboo, ginger, green onions, and of course two tender cuts of tonkotsu. The broth is nicely flavored without being too salty. I really appreciated the thoughtful packaging which separated the noodles/topping and broth in separate compartments within one container so it doesn't get soggy. The container is tied up in a plastic bag to prevent spill. The ratio of noodles/topping and broth was perfect. The next time you have a rainy day ramen craving, give Giraffe Ramen a try!“

“I've been going to Shin before they became Shin. It was my go to sushi spot 10 years ago and so happy I got to experience it with my son who has been curious about this place. The restaurant is an establishment on its own with their own parking lot. It's not in a plaza shared with other businesses which I can appreciate because I don't come across many restaurants like this. There's plenty of seatings outdoor and indoor. Their restroom needs a little TLC. I love that they offer Happy Hour 3p-7p. My son and I ordered the cheese wontons which was completely different than what I was expecting which was the cream cheese wontons. These wontons were made with actual cheese and tempura. We ordered the 3 roll $35 combo and ordered crunchy, super cal and king of kings - we were pleased with all. We got the pleasure of being served by Tammy who I recognized from years ago. She offers great customer service, very accommodating.“
