“The sushi here is to die for!!!! We moved about 45 minutes away and when ever we crave sushi we will make the drive. I have yet to find a sushi restaurant near me that comes even close to Osaka Story! My husband and I make sure we come once a month. My husband love the quality, atmosphere, customer service, and the amazing people that work here. Thank you Reyna and the rest of Osaka story crew!“
“It's giving Michelin star... I come here about once a week and the fish never fails! Always fresh and the customer service is amazing. Wendy is my absolute favorite. Only bummer is that they don't open until 5 PM even on the weekends. Reservations recommended!“
“We recently moved to Lakewood. Normally we have sushi in J-Town or Torrance, but we don't really want to drive too far. We had sushi at a spot in Lakewood a month ago, but it was terrible. A relative recommended this place, and I have to say, I was skeptical. Anyway, we came at around 7:30pm on a Saturday. Parking was not too easy, but luckily we found street parking nearby. The interior is really well done. We could immediately tell that there is major customer loyalty, since I believe it is the owner that greets everyone and there were a lot of regulars. The servers are very friendly and attentive. I was very surprised that they had a great selection of fish (great fish) and even had ankimo (monkfish liver) and natto (fermented soybeans) too. The salmon skin salad also is the best salad I have ever had! We loved everything about this really great place and definitely will be back soon!“
“Everything I have ordered has been top notch and when I order I never doubt what I get will be something that will beat my expectations. I love going here when I am looking for a good variety of sushi. I have gotten many of the rolls to share with my family and different combos that really work well together. Also they offer a great selection of extras, and great packaging for very good prices makes it the best place to choose in the area.“
“Came here with my friends after Sake2Me had closed down their waitlist, but honestly I don't regret it one bit. We had a great time here with their service and quality of fish! The AYCE Sushi price here is $42.99 for the regular menu options. I honestly think that's enough choices for that price. Food takes a bit to come out and comes out sporadically. The quality of the fish was enough to make it worth it. We gobbled up every round so quick! I have to come back here whenever I'm craving good sushi in LB.“
“Hadn’t been here in years. Have no idea why I’ve deprived myself of such great food!! Can’t beat the sunrise roll. Albacore sashimi was fresh and buttery. Staff was friendly and quick to seat and serve us. Love the art on the wall. Even background music was enjoyable. Great place for date night. Def adding back to our date night list!“
“The food is still spectacular I have been coming here since my friend brought me back in 2013. I obviously have my favorites, but I've tried a good majority of the plates and I'm never disappointed. A total of 4 of us came with my 2yr old that fell asleep. Without even asking the staff accommodated us by seating us in the enclosed outdoor area (it's quieter there than inside) and turned on the heater without being asked. Extremely attentive staff checking in on us (we never felt forgotten outside). If you need sushi recommendations we had the Call Me Babe, Earthquake, Dragon Tear, and non spicy garlic edamame all options are delicious.“
“Loved every single thing we ordered here! The quality of the sushi was seriously melt in your mouth. Parking absolutely sucked, we drove around the blocks multiple times until we came up on street parking behind the alley somewhere. It wasn't terribly busy, got there around 7:30 and was seated in 10 minutes as parties were leaving. The yuzu roll was such an explosion of beautiful flavors combined in your mouth, 10/10 recommend for yellowtail lovers! Ambience was dim, not too noisy and the music was quaint. Would definitely come back to this place next time I'm in the area.“
“When I'm in Long Beach it's Ramen Hub....their Tonkatsu Ramen is off the chain...the pork broth is key and I can taste it was made with lots of love. come in and check it out for yourself. the menu is excellent just like the service.“
“This is my 3rd time going to eat dinner there and so far I have not been disappointed. The sushi still delicious and the service fast and friendly. Today I took my sister for the first time for her birthday and she like it. Also our waiter surprised my sister with ice cream for her birthday that was so sweet of them.“
“Today I went to sushi Kinoya because of a recommendation from my math teacher.I tried the Baked Eel Roll, and everything was very fresh, and they put a very good amount of Eel. I give it a 9/10 excellent. The atmosphere was very nice and relaxed, and the servers were very good. I will be taking friends here and I recommend coming and trying this joint out.“
“I ordered takeout at Blue Bird Haus on a Friday evening. I ordered online and received quick confirmation and my order was ready fairly quickly as well. It's surprisingly difficult to find sushi places that serve vegan rolls other than avocado/cucumber rolls. Blue Bird Haus has a wonderful selection of vegan rolls, ramen, and appetizers, and more. I ordered the V-Alaskan roll and veggie egg rolls. It was so delicious and filling. FYI it does come with pickled ginger and wasabi and the V-Alaskan is 8 rolls. While delicious, it is pretty expensive but that's to be expected as plant-based alternatives are usually pricey. Either way, this place is delicious and I definitely recommend it.Vegetarian options: There is a vegan section of the menu available online and in the restaurant.“
“Went in with a party of four. The infused water and free miso soup were a nice touch. We had the spicy rainbow rolls which were good quality and surprisingly filling for sushi. The sushi nachos were presented beautifully and a solid appetizer all around. When running out of wonton chips I was offered more which wasn't expected. Service was great, will return ??“
“Really great Japanese restaurant. Miso soup is legit - brothy with lots of adds with seaweed, green onion and tofu. Super flavorful. Green tea is steep yourself in suoer hot water for the right depth of tea, and truly great flavor. Sushi (spicy tuna) was delish. So glad I took my car in for servicing down the street and needed a lunch place while I waited!“
“I had walked by Kihon countless times, but was hesitant to try it due to the font used for the name in kanji being so unauthentic. I'm glad I finally tried it though, as the food exceeded my expectations.Kihon is one of the few businesses still standing in this plaza. The interior is pretty and service was excellent. I believe there were some actual Japanese chefs working in the kitchen too.The menu is a decent size and food is definitely pricey but the quality is good. I particularly enjoyed the crunchy salmon skin hand roll (albeit a bit small) plus the miso eggplant dish. The mushroom miso soup was also tasty. I thought the menu said the ceviche dish had octopus, but there was no octopus in our ceviche.I feel like a measure of a good Japanese restaurant is also how tasty their steamed white rice is, and Kihon's was fluffy and warm. The spinach in the salmon and spinach dish was a bit oily and the texture a bit too melt-in-your-mouth (in a bad way, like disintegration) for my tastes.Overall, was pleasantly surprised by the tastiness of my meal here.“
“This is our favorite sushi spot! Recommend the Godzilla roll! Great food, atmosphere, and very friendly staff. Only sushi spot I've ever known to have a points system You get points everytime you eat here that you can use for discounts.“
“Revising my review for this place. This place is in tight competition right now with Sushi On Fire along 2nd street, but this is still my preferred high-quality sushi spot. This place really outdoes itself with the quality and uniqueness of its rolls. A lot of my love comes down to the umami they pack into their special dressings they pair with the sushi. The Scottish salmon, the fried arugula, the stinky roll with the mix of fried garlic and onion. And the price comparatively to others here is great if not excellent. Even their Uni is solid (the best I've had is from a place that kept them live in Santa Barbara, a high bar to compare to). Even if the service is slow or inaccurate as of the past couple times, I'm willing to wait. This place deserves a shot, dare to compare what they've got to others.“
“Honestly what a hidden gem. It's not common to find sushi in South Gate and this place exceeded my expectations. It's nothing fancy, but that doesn't mean it isn't tasty. Also the pricing is affordable for what you get. The restaurant inside is okay, but the service and food make up for it! I'm definitely going to become a regular.“
“I have been going to this restaurant for 35 years. The food continues to be consistently good. The owner Japanese Chef works in the kitchen . The best tempura for me! I love the salmon sashimi rice! They use chicken without antibiotics. They use good ingredients that’s the reason why chicken tastes so good.“
“Upon entering I was greeted with great smiles and kindness from all of the staff which made me feel comfortable. Food was amazing and they even have happy hour. Seemed to be clean, which I'm very big on since LA is so disguisting!! Took a minute for them to realize I was ready to pay but overall good experience.“
“This is the place to go for lunch ? beyond the customer friendly service the food is just so right and fulfilling and you will not leave hungry. I always often get the favorite combo which has a little bit of everything miso soup salad California roll teriyaki chicken tempura“
“I've been here many times and every time it is a different experience ! Birthdays, with friends, family etc. They have sushi and Thai food! I recently came there for vegetarian options no meat just the plate with tofu :)I have tried their - fried rice with duck , 10/10 delicious - BSC sushi roll, it is California with Avacado, imitation crab, scallops, and sweet eel sauce. 10/10- pineapple curry no meat 9/10 not a fan of pineapples BUT their curry is delicious. Ordered this because my friend wanted to try :)- spicy fried rice is my go to at all Thai restaurants! Your choice of beef, tofu, or chicken.Check out their menu for more options :)“
“It was my birthday and I could choose any restaurant I liked. I could've chosen a steak house, seafood, vietnamese, fast food, Italian, anything else but I went back here because it's been so long the first time I had sushi here the rolls were enormous! Almost double the size of your average sushi rolls from chain restaurants. The flavor is immaculate, they are generous with the sauce and to top it off It won't break your bank. They are reasonably priced despite inflation and the owners work there as well. No doubt this place deserves praise and recognition. My sister and brother in law just decided to make this their go-to sushi spot :)“
“First and foremost, the service is friendly and timely, and the people running it have a genuine aura to the point I trust them with handling my food. And that is important to me!Del Amor and Dynamite Special rolls are my go-to's! Bomb every time. No raw fish in these. It's about $15-17 per roll. Their basic rolls are half this price. So many rolls to choose from! And I've tried many, but can't remember them all. I do remember being disappointed with their spicy tuna roll, but I'd be willing to try it again. Details on ingredients are shown in the menu. I've had their ramen, very flavorful. Spring rolls had a nice crisp, I enjoyed them. Wontons had a bit of a tough bite. Overall, I have had majority deliciousness from Sushi Loco and I've continued to be a returning customer. I have always ordered to-go, but there are a few tables available to dine-in. Located in a small center on the corner of LB Blvd. and 49th st.“
“We had a great time at the restaurant! Tried the snake roll, surprise roll, and chicken teriyaki. Rolls were delicious, and the chicken teriyaki was the highlight - savory and tender. Despite being busy, the service was attentive, always checking if we needed anything:)“
“Beautiful setting, pretty cool staff and food very tasty. I had the lobster pasta, and I must say, it was the best I had ever had. Extremely flavorful and cooked to perfection. Large servings as well. Specialty alcoholic drinks were also very good.“
“I have been to probably 15+ sushi spots in Long Beach, OC, and LA to try to find one that is amazing and I have finally found one. Fusion sushi knocks it out of the park with the food, atmosphere and price! I have never tasted such good rolls ever. I will be recommending this place to all my friends, and I am hesitant to try anywhere else. Fusion sushi is amazing, and I will most definitely be back very soon!!!!!“
“Solid 4 stars! First time and won't be the last time here! Can't believe I have not been here yet but then again I limited eating out after the pandemic.Sat at the bar with a friend and service was super quick! Your food will come out before you expect it! We enjoyed everything that we ordered from their extensive menu. Asked the sushi chef for his recommendations and he was very helpful.Nigiri portions are huge!Fish is fresh!Rice to fish ratio is perfect!911 Roll, not pictured was the right amount of heat. What I like is that their sauces are light, not heavy mayo based, for the dishes we choose. The "4 corners" was a winner. I'm coming back for this dish!“
“Small spot but service was quick and easy. Fish was fresh, bowl was packed to the brim (you can see that everything is smashed because of how full it is). I really didn't need a medium size... And now I've eaten all of it --yikes. They didn't have spam musubi ready yet because they just opened, but if I'm snackish later I'll definitely come back to try.“
“I've been going to Shin before they became Shin. It was my go to sushi spot 10 years ago and so happy I got to experience it with my son who has been curious about this place. The restaurant is an establishment on its own with their own parking lot. It's not in a plaza shared with other businesses which I can appreciate because I don't come across many restaurants like this. There's plenty of seatings outdoor and indoor. Their restroom needs a little TLC. I love that they offer Happy Hour 3p-7p. My son and I ordered the cheese wontons which was completely different than what I was expecting which was the cream cheese wontons. These wontons were made with actual cheese and tempura. We ordered the 3 roll $35 combo and ordered crunchy, super cal and king of kings - we were pleased with all. We got the pleasure of being served by Tammy who I recognized from years ago. She offers great customer service, very accommodating.“
“One of the best Thai food spots in LBC.Food was very delicious. Service was very poor.Arrive at 6:00 pm on a moderate Friday afternoon. Did not get greeted until about 6:26pm. There was tables seated after us that already had their drinks and appetizers. Our server was very moody and looked she did not wanna be there . There was alot of chatter of bad Service all around the room from other guest. Some of our main courses arrive sooner than out appetizers. There was a man carrying food around for what it seem like 10 minutes. It felt very disorganized. In the end, an older Asian lady was very polite and caring . Not sure who she was but was not our sever . Kuddos to her.Was not planning on tippping because of the service, but she made our night a little better. Overall, the food is amazing! The only reason I come back“
“I love how this restaurant has a homely feel to it. The staff are polite and attentive, friendly, totally welcoming.. There is always something going on. Whether it's live music, karaoke, comedy, or belly dancing they have it all. I recommend calling ahead of time to find out what the entertainment will be.Parking: You have to park and walk down to the restaurant“
“Certainly, here's a draft for your review:⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐"Sushi Nikkei in Bixby Knolls truly stands out as a top-tier dining experience. While the food is undeniably fantastic, what truly sets this restaurant apart is the impeccable service. From the moment you step through the door, you're greeted with warmth and hospitality. The staff goes above and beyond to ensure that every aspect of your meal is nothing short of exceptional. The sushi selection is diverse and delicious, showcasing a perfect blend of traditional Japanese flavors with innovative twists. Each dish is beautifully presented and bursting with freshness. Whether you're a sushi enthusiast or new to Nikkei cuisine, this restaurant offers an unforgettable culinary journey. I highly recommend Sushi Nikkei for an unparalleled dining experience that exceeds expectations in both food quality and service."“
