“We ate at Osaka Story for the first time on a whim tonight and it didn’t disappoint! We had the Albacore Surprise Roll, yellowtail roll and blue crab roll. All of them were great. I requested scallions/green onions on my yellowtail roll and they did it without a problem. The owner was so warm and welcoming. She stopped at our table to talk to us and tell us a little about the restaurant (she owns it with her brother and husband, she had another sushi restaurant for 15+ years and they only source and sell super fresh fish) It’s incredible what great customer service can do. The food was fantastic, but the service is what will keep Osaka Story at the top of our list every time.“
“It's giving Michelin star... I come here about once a week and the fish never fails! Always fresh and the customer service is amazing. Wendy is my absolute favorite. Only bummer is that they don't open until 5 PM even on the weekends. Reservations recommended!“
“Amazing experience ! Love the spicy tuna from here! The workers are very endearing and outgoing ! Love stopping by grabbing a bite and chatting with the workers :)Vegetarian options: Tofu, veggies, mixed greens and brown rice !Parking: Have to be lucky to find close street parking without paying dollar fee !Wheelchair accessibility: Wheelchair friendly !“
“The waitress forgot that I was allergic to avocado. The Chef checked to see how the food was and I told him I couldn’t eat one of the rolls because of avocado. He made one for me to take home. One of the best customer services I’ve ever had in a long time.“
“Came here with my friends after Sake2Me had closed down their waitlist, but honestly I don't regret it one bit. We had a great time here with their service and quality of fish! The AYCE Sushi price here is $42.99 for the regular menu options. I honestly think that's enough choices for that price. Food takes a bit to come out and comes out sporadically. The quality of the fish was enough to make it worth it. We gobbled up every round so quick! I have to come back here whenever I'm craving good sushi in LB.“
“Everything I have ordered has been top notch and when I order I never doubt what I get will be something that will beat my expectations. I love going here when I am looking for a good variety of sushi. I have gotten many of the rolls to share with my family and different combos that really work well together. Also they offer a great selection of extras, and great packaging for very good prices makes it the best place to choose in the area.“
“Loved every single thing we ordered here! The quality of the sushi was seriously melt in your mouth. Parking absolutely sucked, we drove around the blocks multiple times until we came up on street parking behind the alley somewhere. It wasn't terribly busy, got there around 7:30 and was seated in 10 minutes as parties were leaving. The yuzu roll was such an explosion of beautiful flavors combined in your mouth, 10/10 recommend for yellowtail lovers! Ambience was dim, not too noisy and the music was quaint. Would definitely come back to this place next time I'm in the area.“
“Hadn’t been here in years. Have no idea why I’ve deprived myself of such great food!! Can’t beat the sunrise roll. Albacore sashimi was fresh and buttery. Staff was friendly and quick to seat and serve us. Love the art on the wall. Even background music was enjoyable. Great place for date night. Def adding back to our date night list!“
“First and foremost, the service is friendly and timely, and the people running it have a genuine aura to the point I trust them with handling my food. And that is important to me!Del Amor and Dynamite Special rolls are my go-to's! Bomb every time. No raw fish in these. It's about $15-17 per roll. Their basic rolls are half this price. So many rolls to choose from! And I've tried many, but can't remember them all. I do remember being disappointed with their spicy tuna roll, but I'd be willing to try it again. Details on ingredients are shown in the menu. I've had their ramen, very flavorful. Spring rolls had a nice crisp, I enjoyed them. Wontons had a bit of a tough bite. Overall, I have had majority deliciousness from Sushi Loco and I've continued to be a returning customer. I have always ordered to-go, but there are a few tables available to dine-in. Located in a small center on the corner of LB Blvd. and 49th st.“
“Really great Japanese restaurant. Miso soup is legit - brothy with lots of adds with seaweed, green onion and tofu. Super flavorful. Green tea is steep yourself in suoer hot water for the right depth of tea, and truly great flavor. Sushi (spicy tuna) was delish. So glad I took my car in for servicing down the street and needed a lunch place while I waited!“
“Today I went to sushi Kinoya because of a recommendation from my math teacher.I tried the Baked Eel Roll, and everything was very fresh, and they put a very good amount of Eel. I give it a 9/10 excellent. The atmosphere was very nice and relaxed, and the servers were very good. I will be taking friends here and I recommend coming and trying this joint out.“
“Went in with a party of four. The infused water and free miso soup were a nice touch. We had the spicy rainbow rolls which were good quality and surprisingly filling for sushi. The sushi nachos were presented beautifully and a solid appetizer all around. When running out of wonton chips I was offered more which wasn't expected. Service was great, will return ??“
“This is very much the locals spot. You have to find parking to go to the window to order or pick up. Menu looks very cookie cutter but don't be fooled. You get to stand around and wait for food with everyone else. Which was great, all friendly locals. We even made a business connection. Now to the food. We got the chicken plate, patty melt, fried wantons and combo platter. Great amount of food for each item. But I can't express in words how on point the favor profiles are. Seasoning, spicy sweet all perfectly balanced. The sauce for the wantons so so good. Highly recommend you give this place a try.“
“Hands down the best fries chicken in Long Beach and the BEST french fries. They are never soggy and always well salted. The chicken has come along way since opening and I love to get those juicy thighs. Japan and the South are tied for chicken fried deliciousness. So get some anime going and order some karaage and fries immediately.“
“It was my birthday and I could choose any restaurant I liked. I could've chosen a steak house, seafood, vietnamese, fast food, Italian, anything else but I went back here because it's been so long the first time I had sushi here the rolls were enormous! Almost double the size of your average sushi rolls from chain restaurants. The flavor is immaculate, they are generous with the sauce and to top it off It won't break your bank. They are reasonably priced despite inflation and the owners work there as well. No doubt this place deserves praise and recognition. My sister and brother in law just decided to make this their go-to sushi spot :)“
“Oh! Boy! Was this a New Yummy Find! ?Saw someone post this on FB & finally was in the area to dig in. The Wonderful Smell ofHabachi made food encircled my nose &I knew i was in for a treat !!We were helped with our food selections over the phone & Greeted with a Smile. Our order was hot & ready !! The portion size for my To go plate was 2-3 days' worth. And very tasty ?. I had the pleasure of theSalmon & Shrimp ? over fried rice & veggies, Cooked to perfection.I will be back & try everything on the menu“
“I had walked by Kihon countless times, but was hesitant to try it due to the font used for the name in kanji being so unauthentic. I'm glad I finally tried it though, as the food exceeded my expectations.Kihon is one of the few businesses still standing in this plaza. The interior is pretty and service was excellent. I believe there were some actual Japanese chefs working in the kitchen too.The menu is a decent size and food is definitely pricey but the quality is good. I particularly enjoyed the crunchy salmon skin hand roll (albeit a bit small) plus the miso eggplant dish. The mushroom miso soup was also tasty. I thought the menu said the ceviche dish had octopus, but there was no octopus in our ceviche.I feel like a measure of a good Japanese restaurant is also how tasty their steamed white rice is, and Kihon's was fluffy and warm. The spinach in the salmon and spinach dish was a bit oily and the texture a bit too melt-in-your-mouth (in a bad way, like disintegration) for my tastes.Overall, was pleasantly surprised by the tastiness of my meal here.“
“This is our favorite sushi spot! Recommend the Godzilla roll! Great food, atmosphere, and very friendly staff. Only sushi spot I've ever known to have a points system You get points everytime you eat here that you can use for discounts.“
“Upon entering I was greeted with great smiles and kindness from all of the staff which made me feel comfortable. Food was amazing and they even have happy hour. Seemed to be clean, which I'm very big on since LA is so disguisting!! Took a minute for them to realize I was ready to pay but overall good experience.“
“Revising my review for this place. This place is in tight competition right now with Sushi On Fire along 2nd street, but this is still my preferred high-quality sushi spot. This place really outdoes itself with the quality and uniqueness of its rolls. A lot of my love comes down to the umami they pack into their special dressings they pair with the sushi. The Scottish salmon, the fried arugula, the stinky roll with the mix of fried garlic and onion. And the price comparatively to others here is great if not excellent. Even their Uni is solid (the best I've had is from a place that kept them live in Santa Barbara, a high bar to compare to). Even if the service is slow or inaccurate as of the past couple times, I'm willing to wait. This place deserves a shot, dare to compare what they've got to others.“
“I ordered the beef teriyaki plate. It was ok. I also ordered the strawberry lemonade drink, but it did not taste organic. The strawberry lemonade tasted ok, not bad, but most likely, it has an artificial flavor to it. I noticed that when I came inside, the worker cleaning was nice and cool. I also noticed I almost sneezed inside, and I went outside to sneeze, and I couldn't sneeze. When I came inside, I saw the cashier sneeze ?. I just hope they are not sneezing a lot inside when they are close to the food and hope they are washing their hands every time. I got to my car with my food and drink and I ate a little bit then I sneezed. ??♂️?. The food was ok. But I do not know what made me sneeze or the cashier sneeze. I am feeling ok right now, though. I appreciate the service here.“
“One of our favorite local spots to dine when we want a quick meal. In addition to the bento boxes, we order the salmon skin salad which is delicious. When we come my daughter always tells me my treat, mom, (lol) since it's very affordable.“
“I have been going to this restaurant for 35 years. The food continues to be consistently good. The owner Japanese Chef works in the kitchen . The best tempura for me! I love the salmon sashimi rice! They use chicken without antibiotics. They use good ingredients that’s the reason why chicken tastes so good.“
“The turn around for food was a little long but there was a whole anime convention happening so I suspect that contributed. The food is worth the time. And the employees checked to let us know what was happening. If I lived there I would be in Donburi Cafe all the time.Wheelchair accessibility: A chair would be tight indoors but the outdoor tables are spacious! The counter is high though.“
“Honestly what a hidden gem. It's not common to find sushi in South Gate and this place exceeded my expectations. It's nothing fancy, but that doesn't mean it isn't tasty. Also the pricing is affordable for what you get. The restaurant inside is okay, but the service and food make up for it! I'm definitely going to become a regular.“
“I have been to probably 15+ sushi spots in Long Beach, OC, and LA to try to find one that is amazing and I have finally found one. Fusion sushi knocks it out of the park with the food, atmosphere and price! I have never tasted such good rolls ever. I will be recommending this place to all my friends, and I am hesitant to try anywhere else. Fusion sushi is amazing, and I will most definitely be back very soon!!!!!“
“What an unexpected suprise! I wasn't in the area to try this place. Was shopping after work at Target, saw this place on my way out and thought I'd stop in and get a dozen or so to go. Place was not crowded so I placed my order quick. Just got me the plain old pork (OG) dumplings pan fried of course. Didn't take long, and was on my way home. My drive is a bit long, I work in Long Beach and live in Mission Viejo, so to say the least, the smell of this dumplings killed me, I mean that in a good way. Reached in the bag, opened up the to go container and started eating em while diving home in traffic. Yeah I know it's a no no, but couldn't wait. Dumplings were fresh, fat and flavorful! Yeah, I'm a pig and ate em all on my way home. No sauce even needed! They were super moist, cooked perfectly. I will definitely be back for more!!“
“I've been coming to Sushi on Fire since it first opened back in 2012. This restaurant has a ginormous menu and will satisfy anyone's special diet. It's great to see this restaurant to have evolved to such a degree of success that it has changed ownership without affecting the feel or menu of the restaurant. It's still my favorite!“
“Ordered first time today Sun March 24th, 2024 1pm) through Grub Hub. Had a medium poke Bowl with Tuna, Amon, Crab and their house dressing. It was absolutely delicious... Their to-go containers also prevented soggy rice! I will definitely order Hippo Poke again!“
“Came here the same day bc I went to another poke place that was disappointing. This one has a lot more additions. Fresh and more protein options. Friendly staff. Three protein with all the toppings you want. $15. Great deal. Good flavor. Fresh tuna“
“One of the best Thai food spots in LBC.Food was very delicious. Service was very poor.Arrive at 6:00 pm on a moderate Friday afternoon. Did not get greeted until about 6:26pm. There was tables seated after us that already had their drinks and appetizers. Our server was very moody and looked she did not wanna be there . There was alot of chatter of bad Service all around the room from other guest. Some of our main courses arrive sooner than out appetizers. There was a man carrying food around for what it seem like 10 minutes. It felt very disorganized. In the end, an older Asian lady was very polite and caring . Not sure who she was but was not our sever . Kuddos to her.Was not planning on tippping because of the service, but she made our night a little better. Overall, the food is amazing! The only reason I come back“
“Excellent food curious customer services clean establishment. Highly recommended food always fresh and hot and delicious. This place be crowded seems really popular. Thanks for great service and food.Vegetarian options: Able to choose variety of vegetables and salads etcKid-friendliness: Kids are welcomeWheelchair accessibility: Awesome meeting the needs of the disable“
“First time patron, gave it a try tonight and... "WOW, this is no ordinary take-out eatery!"Every item is something special. You can tell this food is prepared by specialists, experts in the culinary arts, and the counterperson seemed genuinely glad and eager to please customers. They won a new fan. Like Arnold Schwarzenegger said, .....“
“This was very delicious high in price for the portions. The one turnoff was the appetizer tostada at $14. With literally only a small portion of salad, it's just 4 tortilla chips with tiny tasty greens. I almost fainted when I paid $28 for 8 pieces of chips with greens on top. Other than that, the food was good. Would go back again. Oh yea, the service was great too!“
