“I’ve ordered here 3 times and food here has been consistently fresh. This place is near where I live. I was surprised to find out it was just a take out establishment during my first visit. But services have been quick and they have gotten the orders right so far. They often send out discount codes which are very helpful in this economy. Prices are fairly reasonable. Try it if you’re in the mood for sushi!“

“This is my favorite sushi place in Long Beach. That being said, it's also the only sushi place that I've been to in Long Beach. I've been three times now though, because I like it so much that I make it a point to come here every time I'm in town.
They're known for the AYCE sushi, but I come back for the quality not just the quantity. It is all very fresh, very well made, and beautifully presented. I'm afraid I might never try another sushi place in this area since I have no reason to look elsewhere.“

“Always good food. Started eating there a few years ago when I just happened to hear about what the owner did for a customer that had his food eaten by a food delivery service driver. Stand up guy! Always a good interaction when I stop in! Highly recommend them. The garlic noodles are delicious“

“Menu is curated to blow your mind. Time and time again, I come and try something new that makes me think, “I didn’t know X/Y/Z could even taste like this”. Chef Yoya and his team are doing something very special here. The food speaks for itself. Have yet to try something I haven’t absolutely loved. I can easily say this is by far my favorite restaurant in Long Beach and definitely in my top 3 in the world. Service is amazing too.“

“We went here for the first time tonight and was AMAZING. I wish I lived closer, I would come here every weekend. The service was great! Staff was super friendly and felt like friends. We got yellowtail Nigiri, popcorn lobster roll, shrimp tempura roll, salmon Philadelphia roll, edamame, and strawberry mochi :) all were delicious but the Edamame surprised us as it has a delicious pepper garlic spicy sauce :) everything was delightful and the atmosphere was great too. Really cute Japanese blossoms and paper lanterns :) looking forward to our next visit :)“

“A staple for my shrimp tempura and chicken kaarage! Food and service always good! The vibes are good except the obvious that this place needs more business around it!
Shrimp tempura is always crispy and flavorful and the chicken kaarage is juicy and seasoned well!“

“The Current offers a lot of convenience with its prime location in the middle of DTLB. The connected retailers, including Hi-Lo Liquor, Qargo coffee, Sushi Beluga, and BMore Pizza, make everyday errands and dining out incredibly convenient. The amenities are outstanding. I can enjoy a relaxing day at the beautiful 4th-floor terrace or take a dip in the pool on the 17th floor, both offering great spots to unwind and take in the views. Additionally, The Current hosts a variety of events, from the big Grand Prix party to smaller gatherings like yoga on the 17th floor, which adds a vibrant and engaging community feel to the place. The staff at The Current, particularly Raelle and Denisse, always make me feel welcomed and valued. Their friendliness and attentiveness greatly enhance the living experience, making it feel like home. Overall, The Current offers an exceptional living environment with its convenient location, excellent amenities, and welcoming staff. Highly recommended!“

“I was walking by and decided to stop in. Boy am I glad I did! The food was served fast and it was delicious! They have a great happy hour where appetizers and sushi are reduced, including some of their signature rolls. If you like heat, try the tsunami roll! You won’t be disappointed. Thank you so much for such a great experience!“

“Wagyu Street is a fantastic addition to the LBX food hall! I've tried a few different dishes, and every single one has been consistently flavorful and delicious.
My personal favorite is the bento box - it's beautifully presented and packed with goodness. You get your choice of meat (grilled to absolute perfection), short grain rice, pickled cucumbers, bean sprouts, dipping sauce, and a lemon wedge. Love that the portions are generous, making it perfect for one hearty meal or splitting into two smaller ones.
The service is top-notch, always friendly and welcoming, and they even offer seasonal specials and happy hour deals on food and beer. Highly recommend checking it out!“

“It was good. I really enjoyed my poke bowl, and so did my asian mother who actualy doesn’t enjoy very much of anything not Chinese. My mother was kicking and screaming when I suggested the hanger. She was originally going to go somewhere else but I was very surprised when she brought a poke bowl back to our table. And she liked it. I ate a large, ate a half of a bowl, and brought the rest home. Put it in the fridge and took it out and just ate it and it was good! Some places the rice and other stuff isn’t good quality anymore, but nope this was just dandy. I got the brown rice, the salmon, albacore, spicy tuna, and octopus. I got most of everything. Got the asian sauce and the spicy mayo. I am accustomed to having poke bowls not as often but sometimes. But for my mother who I didn’t think would like it, to like it thats pretty good. It was her first time eating a poke bowl too.“

“Amazing food! Their poke bowls are very good. I was really worried they'd give too much rice but they do not skimp on the toppings at all. Handrolls are also good, and everything is seasoned/marinated perfectly. However I urge you to order online as infrequent as possible as they regularly forget multiple toppings I order, even when I pay more for extra.“

“This place has been here for over 40 years and recently just tried it for the first time, great food and great prices got the teriyaki plate and it was delicious, cash only at this location and no seating. Just a window to order. Great pricing overall as well“

“Went in for a quick bite mid-afternoon and ended up staying for an early dinner. Sat at the sushi bar, ordered nigiri; yellowtail, kurodai, tuna and salmon, mixed tempura, and green teas that were better than expected. The iced was this cloudy matcha situation in case you like that type of iced tea.
Excited to see kurodai on the menu. There were a few specials but we stuck to the basics for this round.
Everything came out beautifully presented and the fish was genuinely fresh across the board. The crispy rice is the move. Caramelized, warm, light spicy tuna on top. Comes heavy on the sauce so just know that going in. We will ask for a lighter touch next time but it was still delicious.
Easy parking, no wait, fair prices, great space (cool art! chill vibe) Long Beach top three sushi. No question.“

“I came all the way from Highland Park (near Dodger Stadium) to check it out. I’m glad I did! They have limited yet free parking (plaza parking). The food is delicious and affordable. Their portions are nice too. The staff are friendly and the environment is authentic yet modern. The music is great and not too loud.“

“I recently had a wonderful dining experience at Sushi Ai in Long Beach and wanted to share my thoughts. While I don't typically eat sushi or sashimi, I was in search of quality katsu, and Sushi Ai exceeded my expectations. I visited on a Sunday evening and opted for their dinner combo, which proved to be an excellent choice. The portion sizes were generous, and the quality of the food was impressive. The katsu, in particular, was exceptional - perfectly crisp on the outside and tender within. Although I didn't partake in the sushi offerings, the selection appeared diverse and appealing. The ambiance of the restaurant is pleasantly relaxed, and the staff were attentive and professional. The service was prompt and efficient, contributing to an overall smooth dining experience. Sushi Ai in Long Beach is a versatile establishment that caters to various preferences. Whether you're a sushi enthusiast or prefer cooked Japanese dishes, I believe you'll find something to enjoy here. The restaurant successfully balances quality, value, and a welcoming atmosphere. I highly recommend Sushi Ai for anyone in the Long Beach area looking for a satisfying Japanese meal. It's a testament to the diverse culinary options our city has to offer. #SushiAi #LongBeachDining #JapaneseCuisine“

“Service was very quick and considerate. We ordered the 911 (never forget), KFC, dragon, volcano, and avocado eel rolls among others. We also had the tempura ice cream. All the food was good and portions were good. My favorite roll was the KFC though the volcano roll was a close second.
Overall a great experience! Would definitely recommend to any sushi enjoyers!“

“This place is not the same—it’s under new ownership, and the drop in quality and service is very noticeable. If you’re coming here expecting anything close to what this place used to be, don’t.
We arrived at 9:15pm, well within the posted hours that say they close at 10pm. The moment we walked in, someone at the sushi bar looked at their watch with visible irritation and told us the kitchen had already closed at 9. That alone was confusing given their posted hours, but it was the attitude that really stood out.
Instead of feeling welcomed as paying customers, we were made to feel like an inconvenience. There was no effort to accommodate, explain politely, or even show basic customer service.
We were fully prepared to spend over $350 on dinner, and it was clear that didn’t matter at all.
At that point, we decided to leave and take our business somewhere else—somewhere that actually values customers and their hard-earned money.
Really disappointing experience. The difference from what this place used to be is night and day, and unfortunately not in a good way. I won’t be back.“

“MESSAGE TO OWNER, LISTEN CLOSELY, I HAVE MILLIONS OF VIEWS ON GOOGLE AND OTHER OKAY FORMS, SO LISTEN CLOSELY, YOU ARE NOT THE FIRST OR LAST OWNER I GIVE ADVICE TO..... EVERY RESTAURANT THAT DOESN'T LISTEN TO ME ENDS UP SHUTTING DOWN.... I'M BEING HONEST BECAUSE I CARE...... STEP 1: Hire 1 Extra Worker To Do The Extra Work (Cleaning, Cooking Items The Chef Can't Cook Because There To Busy, Extra Things Than Need To Be Done) customers want their food made in a RESPECTFUL AMOUNT OF TIME, customers want their tables clean when we sit down, Your workers are already working hard enough.... Don't be greedy with your money it's not going to hurt you to get another worker, I'm going to come back in a couple months I would like to see some changes if not I'll make the changes myself, this is not a threat, this is LOVE“

“We were visiting from Seattle and wandered into Osaka Story completely by accident… which is now the best accident we’ve ever had.
The staff were so kind and friendly that we instantly felt like regulars, even though we’d just walked in off the street. The food was so good we came back the very next day like, “Hey, it’s us again, don’t mind us.” And the beef yaki udon? Chef’s kiss. Truly “I could write poetry about this noodle” levels of good.
We will absolutely be back—probably more often than is reasonable for people who don’t live here.“
