“As near to an authentic upscale Japanese izakaya one can find in Long Beach. Greeted by an attentive and professional staff, seated promptly (make a reservation), and drinks came immediately. “We went here for the AYCE sushi and got the premium menu because we're visiting Socal for vacation. Absolutely phenomenal with the service and food! I love how friendly the staff was to us and explained how the process actually work. There are leftover fee + only order what you can eat! Definitely should ask for recommendations and they provide you a menu with pictures. I would absolutely come back here again! The parking lot is kinda small, but we were able to find a spot before the dinner rush.“

“Absolutely a hidden gem among all the Japanese restaurants in the area. The space itself is inviting and intimate without being stuffy, coupled with a small sushi bar. Pricing is reasonable, especially with the quality fish and their attention-to-detail. Even their basic sashimi/nigiri comes beautifully presented with thoughtful garnishes. The unagi specifically has a wonderful char that blends smokiness with sweetness. You can tell the owners put a lot of care into every aspect of the restaurant.

YUZU SALMON: Must order for salmon lovers. Perfect balance of savoriness and yuzu brightness.

SAKE BOMB: The marinade is heavenly.

MIXED TEMPURA: Probably the best we’ve had in SoCal. Zero oiliness, perfect crunch, tender fillings. So fresh!

“It was good. I really enjoyed my poke bowl, and so did my asian mother who actualy doesn’t enjoy very much of anything not Chinese. My mother was kicking and screaming when I suggested the hanger. She was originally going to go somewhere else but I was very surprised when she brought a poke bowl back to our table. And she liked it. I ate a large, ate a half of a bowl, and brought the rest home. Put it in the fridge and took it out and just ate it and it was good! Some places the rice and other stuff isn’t good quality anymore, but nope this was just dandy. I got the brown rice, the salmon, albacore, spicy tuna, and octopus. I got most of everything. Got the asian sauce and the spicy mayo. I am accustomed to having poke bowls not as often but sometimes. But for my mother who I didn’t think would like it, to like it thats pretty good. It was her first time eating a poke bowl too.“

“Service was very quick and considerate. We ordered the 911 (never forget), KFC, dragon, volcano, and avocado eel rolls among others. We also had the tempura ice cream. All the food was good and portions were good. My favorite roll was the KFC though the volcano roll was a close second.

“Amazing, the only word to describe this teriyaki, is one the best places to experience it from. From being fortunate of growing up near by. You know when you travel to different regions are you tempted to try similar dishes. So far never found anything of the same caliber. Unfortunately, I always crave eating this teriyaki from where ever I might find myself at the moment.“

“I had not been to this Yoshinoya location for years! I stopped by because I had an appointment in LA and on my way back to OC, I had a craving. I'm a long-time Yoshinoya fan, and whenever I get a chance I'll make that stop.

This location is right on a busy corner in Long Beach. They have updated the outside of it. I was impressed by the smiles and attentive service of the staff. The proportions of my bowl were perfect. Best yoshinoya meal I've had in a long time!“
