Hungry Horse Drive-In Reviews
I've been coming here since about 1975.....Nothing has changed, this place is still fantastic. This is a true Long Beach Gem, everything here is great!
The food is good and elevated to great when paired with amazingly affordable prices. There's very little parking and nowhere to sit so it's better suited to take out. The people running it are always polite and friendly. IT'S CASH ONLY with the only alternative being venmo.
Tldr; food is good

Hungry Horse Drive-In is a popular local spot, known for its friendly atmosphere and unique dining experience. Customers can expect to find a variety of options on the menu, all of which come in generous portions. The flavors are praised for their perfect balance, particularly in dishes like the chicken plate, chicken teriyaki plate, and the 3 sticks combo (Chicken, Beef, and Shrimp) with macaroni. Great teriyaki, fries, and burgers are also highlights, always fresh and good for the price. Take-out service is available, but customers should be prepared to wait 15 minutes for their freshly prepared meals. While prices are reasonable, it's worth noting that Hungry Horse Drive-In only accepts cash or Zelle as forms of payment. Some customers may be disappointed by the presentation of certain dishes, such as the teriyaki bowl, which comes in a small to-go box. The service is described as bare minimum, and the waiting area lacks comfort. Overall, Hungry Horse Drive-In is a solid choice for those seeking a hearty, flavorful meal in a friendly and welcoming environment, despite the basic setup.
