“My absolute favorite Japanese-Chinese restaurant in town!
Umemura truly feels like “町中華” — a warm, family-run neighborhood Chinese restaurant just like in Japan. Their Umani Ramen is hands down the best ramen in California… maybe even in the entire US. That’s how amazing it is!
I also love their Kanitama Chahan (fried rice topped with an imitation crab omelet). Everything is always super fresh, flavorful, and authentically prepared. This place is loved by all my Japanese friends, Japanese American friends, and even my American friends — everyone falls in love with it!
The servers are kind and friendly, and the cozy atmosphere makes every visit feel comforting.

“DONT COME HETE IF YOU WANT FAST QUICK FOOD SERVICE!!!!!
If you’re looking for quick fast-food service, this is probably not the place for you. I’ve been coming here for a while, and the food is always good quality, but it takes time. I usually order a drink and relax while I wait for my food. In my experience, the wait is typically at least 30 minutes and can sometimes be up to an hour.
Personally, I don’t mind because I know what to expect, and I enjoy having a drink while I wait. However, if you’re coming here just because they’re open late and the prices are cheap, be aware that your food may take a long time to come out.
The people serving customers are the same people preparing the food in the kitchen. They come out to seat guests, take orders, and then go back to cooking. There isn’t a dedicated waitstaff like at many restaurants, so service can be slower during busy times.
That said, the food quality is worth the wait for me. Just come with the expectation that this is not a fast-food , service type of experience.“
