“First time visiting and we had the omakase. The staff welcomed us like they have known us for years as soon as we walked in. The service throughout the omakase was amazing and the sushi was the best weve had since visiting Japan! Toshisan is passionate and friendly. Cant wait to go back asap! I wish I could keep Toshi Sushi to myself and not tell anyone about it, but they deserve to be successful so I chose to write this review. We are incredibly lucky to have sushi of this quality, at s reasonable price, and in Gardena no less. If you're reading this, dont think about it any longer and just go.“

“This place is a gem, I am so glad to have finally tried their food. There are lots of scrumptious options to choose from and right when I think I've made up my mind on what to get I spot the daily specials board. Mind you I did get in late for dinner so they were mostly sold out of their specials but I did not leave disappointed. The staff is friendly and very attentive, they make you feel like family. The chili is DELICIOUS! I loved it, I even took a pint of it home. Their poke is good, it was marinated with sesame oil and green onions. I also ordered a bento box and the somen salad and brocolli medley were the best parts. Overall a solid place to have a satisfying meal.“

“Been to many locations for their infamous ramen? including the 'Shin Zen Gumi to go' d just down the street from this location.Me, the wifey, & daughter came here because we usually like to go to the 'Jedaya' Japanese restaurant which is in the same plaza. There was a 45 minute wait on a Sunday evening and we didn't want to wait.Since Shin Zen Gumi was just a short walk away, we decided to come here.We didn't realize that it was based on Yakitori grilled styled Japanese and therefore I wasn't gonna be able to get any tempura like I normally would, however a change in pace would be just as fine.We studied the menu for a few minutes and were easily enticed to order some yakitori meats ? which was surprisingly delicious with a garlic dipping sauce, couple bowls of Shio ramen which was delicious for that style of ramen they didn't have tonkatsu style available , some grilled gyoza ? for our daughter, karaage which also was delicious and fried to perfection , and finally I ordered a plate of their garlic shrimp ? fries?.Now I normally do not ever get fries at a Japanese restaurant however I randomly chose this item and didn't regret it one bit. The shrimp were tantalizingly grilled to perfection with its own unique flavor accompanied with their own amazing sauce They drizzled the fries which were straw style and just perfect with the way they served them up.Last but not least a large Sprite, Kirin Ichiban Bottled Beer, and some water to wash it down. The place was crazy busy, however the staff made you feel at home with the way they shout their welcoming and departing greetings. The restaurant was clean, organized, and outstanding service which made our first time experience an awesome one. I give it a 5 star rating for their excellent dining experience ?We'll definitely come back here for more of their Yakitori style cuisine!Awesome job Shin-Zen-Gumi ?Parking: There is a huge parking lot that is free, however spaces may vary during dinner and peak hours.“

It's not just right; it's a symphony of flavors that transport you to Japan with each bite. The authenticity here is unbeatable, making every dish a delightful adventure for your taste buds. But what truly steals the show is the cozy atmosphere that turns every meal into a cherished family moment. Recommend trying this out. - Melty Bao with Pork | Steamed bun with shredded pork and shiitake mushroom inside. It's then cut in half with cheese slapped on each open side and melted on the grill. Absolutely, mind blowing delicious. All steamed buns should be made like this. Highly recommend... and buy one for me. Please and thank you. THE VIBE EVOCATION. Fair vibes. Meiji Tofu Japanese • $
16440 S Western Ave, Gardena

“Meiji's Tofu is nothing short of miraculous. I not only eat tofu at least once (and often more than once) a day, but I even make my own tofu from organic, non GMO soy beans on a regular basis. Try as I might, my product doesn't hold a candle to this master of the craft and art of tofu making. Every product he sells is stellar, but if you can get it try the SUPREME TOFU SUPREME KUMIDASHI -- X SOFT CUP TOFUSUPREME EDAMAME -- BABY SOY BEANS (SEASONAL) ZARU TOFU -- BASKET TOFUThis product is Devine. Soft, creamy, moist, delicate yet sweet and slightly nutty in flavor, this ultimate silken tofu is the very best expression of the lowly soybean. Unlike block tofu which separates the curds from the whey and then presses the curds into a block, silken tofu incorporates all the water, making it very soft and delicate and more subtle in flavor. Meiji isn't a restaurant. It's a door to his production facility where you ring a bell and get to purchase a slice of old world heaven. I eat mine cold for breakfast with a nice amount of homemade crunchy garlic Sichuan pepper oil and a dash of Bachan's Japanese barbecue sauce for some sweetness. Meiji also sells his product through a number of small specialty shops around LA and a few other places around California. All are listed on his website at meijitofu.com/stockistsIf I am waxing rhapsodic, it's because it's hard to believe nothing but soybeans and water (and a little calcium chloride from deep sea water) can make something so sublime. Try it. You can thank me later.“

“If you have good taste in katsu then this is the place for you. If you don't then byeeeee. I love this place because it reminds me of this famous spot in Tokyo, called Butagumi. Both of them share this premium flaky crispy batter on the outside which I love. I know most katsu uses a thicker more dense batter but I prefer this. I will DEFINITELY be returning. If I had to describe how the batter is, it almost looks like bonito flakes were fried on it, but that's a good thing with the flakiness. The katsu does take a little bit of time to make as I'm under the impression it's fresh but in my opinion worth the wait. My go-to order is the bacon and Portuguese sausage combo, minus the tater tots, and it never disappoints. Also I love the traditional Hawaiian music that plays as I'm enjoying my food. It always creates a calm and comfortable environment.I've explored breakfast burrito options all over the South Bay and Los Angeles, and nothing even comes close to Auntie's. The flavor profile is absolutely outstanding. The bacon is thick and delightfully crunchy, elevating every bite to a whole new level of deliciousness. What makes Auntie's even more remarkable is their support for law enforcement. They go the extra mile by hosting "coffee with a cop" events periodically, fostering better communication between the public and the Gardena police department. It's heartwarming to see the mayor of Gardena, Chief, and Captain attend these events, demonstrating Auntie's commitment to the community.Auntie's isn't just a restaurant; it's a place where you can savor incredible breakfast burritos and feel good about supporting a business that actively engages with its local law enforcement and community.
