“Fantastic sushi with consistently fresh fish and great quality. The unagi sushi is the standout—perfectly grilled, tender, and incredibly flavorful, easily the best I’ve had. The tempura is also excellent: light, crispy, and not greasy. Definitely worth a visit.“

“We went here for a Saturday evening dinner date. We started with the Spicy Karrage and the Brussel Sprouts. The spicy karrage is absolutely phenomenal and for us, the star of the show. For skewers, we tried the momo, momo spicy, momo wasabi, the chicken meatball (I forget the name, the ebi, and the wagyu. I personally like the momo and the spicy momo. My gf loved the chicken meatball and the wagyu.
I will definitely be coming back.“

“This small restaurant is located in a strip mall on Carson St. in old Torrance.. it was very busy and popular even on a Monday night! The food was outstanding starting with the beef salad.. it was very tasty and refreshing. Moving on the fancy sashimi was perfect.. very fresh and flavorful. Their beef is top notch whether it was the ribeye or the wagyu tartar service with uni and caviar.. the latter had a beautiful presentation and was equally delicious. The salmon truffle carpaccio was another winner. The service was nice and the counter seating was very comfortable. It might be a good idea to do a reservation especially if it is a busy night. the space is relatively compact and fills up really fast. This is a very authentic dining experience which has not been watered down for an American audience.. real deal outstanding Japanese food. They have tons of robata choices and their crispy pork ribs looked amazing.. def trying them on our next visit. If you love grilled meats and amazing flavor Izakaya Hachi is a must try.“

“Was craving soba on a Saturday morning and luckily found SOBAR. Soba made in house - 100% buckwheat, cooked to perfection. Some of the best soba I’ve ever had with strong but clean dipping sauces. Had an extra full serving of soba to polish off the dipping sauces. Service was as good if not greater than soba itself.“

“Menu is curated to blow your mind. Time and time again, I come and try something new that makes me think, “I didn’t know X/Y/Z could even taste like this”. Chef Yoya and his team are doing something very special here. The food speaks for itself. Have yet to try something I haven’t absolutely loved. “Gaburi Chicken is a spot that recently opened up! The popcorn chicken is amazing; excellent flavor! This is a popular place, so be aware that you may have to head to the restaurant early! Parking is somewhat difficult to find, so be aware of this also! Overall, this place deserves 5-stars!“

“We went here for the first time tonight and was AMAZING. I wish I lived closer, I would come here every weekend. The service was great! Staff was super friendly and felt like friends. We got yellowtail Nigiri, popcorn lobster roll, shrimp tempura roll, salmon Philadelphia roll, edamame, and strawberry mochi :) all were delicious but the Edamame surprised us as it has a delicious pepper garlic spicy sauce :) everything was delightful and the atmosphere was great too. Really cute Japanese blossoms and paper lanterns :) looking forward to our next visit :)“

“I was expecting a hole.in the wall since the area looked busy and the surrounding buildings looked run down. I was wrong. This place has a nice building and very nicely decorated inside. Clean. Staff was attentive and friendly. The sushi was very good and fairly priced. I would definitely recommend and will be personally coming back for more.“

“It feels like it’s gotten more expensive over time, but I’ve been coming here for 20 years. It’s one of my all-time favorite restaurants, and I’d be genuinely sad if it ever closed. The staff are always very friendly. While it may not feel particularly modern or spotless, it offers a comforting, homey atmosphere. The food is also consistently delicious.“

“Decided to try out this local spot on a whim and i'm really glad I did. I pulled up 15 minutes until closing and the waitress still took my order to go. Dine in was no longer available which was understandable. She was very witty and funny, excellent service and I enjoyed the unexpected laughter. Food was ready super quick and she even met me at the door to pick it up. The food was incredible, very rich flavor and made with love. I ordered the #4 which was recommended by her. I am looking forward to dining in next time, really nice spot. Go check it out.“
