“Zoku was a great first-time experience. We started with the spicy karaage, yaki onigiri, and shishito peppers, and everything was well-seasoned and full of character. The onigiri was particularly memorable—smoky, savory, and delicious. The shishitos had a unique spice medley with an earthy, green umami flavor, while the karaage brought an approachable medium heat and an almost angry dark color that made it even more intriguing.

The Zoku Salad, their take on a Japanese Caesar, was colorful, textural, and genuinely pleasant to eat. We also worked our way through all eight chicken kushiyaki options. The wasabi, meatball, and spicy momo were the standouts.

Service was friendly, efficient, and energetic. The staff were on the ball throughout the meal. Add in the fun, casual atmosphere, and Zoku is an easy place to recommend. Definitely looking forward to going back.“

“We had just comeback from a trip to Kyoto/Tokyo and craving for sushi. Randomly picked this as it was close to the hotel stay. Sashimi and Nigiri were on-par with what you get in Japan and from the food we could tell the chef was really good. The person serving (from Osaka, forgot his name) was very nice and we had a very good dinner. If anything, for the pricing, my feedback would be to make the service (sake cups, chopsticks, ... the whole experience) more Japanese/authentic - it was clean, etc., don't let that take away from the food, which was excellent! We would go back here.“

“Wonderful food and service, the Omekase was the culinary highlight of my week in LA. Every course was delightful, varied, and complemented the others. My friend ordered off of the menu directly and the Gyoza was the best either of us had ever experienced. Highly recommended!“

“Best authentic Japanese food! My husband and I live in the LA city, and we drive to Torrance occasionally on the weekends, just to get Hachi! It’s so delicious. I can’t stop 😂
I wish they had one in LA. The food is consistently good and on point, and so authentic and high quality like the foods that I had in Japan. My Japanese friend recommended this place, so I knew it would be legit but it’s quite mind-blowing. I love getting motsu nabe, saba roll, and the beef tongue here in addition to suntory draft ✨and make sure to get a reservation ahead!“

“Izakaya Ringo exceeded my expectations! Their fish was so fresh and melted in my mouth. Everything was reasonably priced and the service was incredibly kind and hospitable! “We found this place by of chance needing to use the bathroom whilst walking around Venice and what a great find. Staff are lovely and welcoming and attended to us well. The place was very clean and the food was just right and so tasty. I will be returning when I visit again.“

“Absolutely love this place. Staff is so friendly and attentive, as well as the managers. Sat at the bar and was served by Emma, Julian, and Adam. They were so fun, lots of laughs, and knowledgeable about the menu. Emma actually remembered my drink order from a previous visit, which was super sweet and surprising. I was also greeted by a manager, Tom, who was very friendly as well. The food, 11/10. I live for the tempura vegetables, tuna handroll, the island rock cod. The filet mignon is the most tender, tastiest filet you'll ever have. Trendy place, the ambiance is just as great as the food and service. Highly recommend for a nice bite before a flight out of LAX or a night out with friends. No notes.“

“Great place to hang out with friends! It’s our first visit so didn’t realize it’s more like a bar than restaurant -.- we ordered too much… the roasted chicken is soooo good! We ordered garlic rice as a side of roasted chicken. And all fired dishes are highly recommended! People at next table order grapefruit drinks and smells so good! Already plan to go a second time and order the grapefruit drink!

“When you think about authentic Japanese noodle houses from the movies, this place is what probably will come to mind. Servers and entire staff were very friendly and welcoming. Food came quick and was very good. This would be my go-to sushi spot to bring friends just to show off the atmosphere. Highly recommend if you're looking for a good place to eat.“

“The man inside was nothing but kind to me. Im not from LA and my phone died trying to find my way back to my hotel. I went into Jersey Mikes and he refused to lend me a charger for a couple minutes. I decided to try here and he let me use it, offered me candy, and was so nice. I didnt try the food but with with their hospitality alone I will come eat here on my next visit. Thank you again!“
