Izakaya Akatsuki Reviews
Love this place. Very relaxed atmosphere and great food. Our go to place for big gatherings and birthdays.
Muso maze udon is phenomenal
This place truly feels like an authentic Japanese restaurant. The atmosphere is warm and inviting, and the food lives up to the experience.
Their udon is outstanding. The noodles are handmade, fresh, and have a wonderful chewy texture. We ordered the Umami Maze Udon, and it was absolutely delicious. It's easily one of the best bowls of udon we've had in this area. We'll definitely be coming back!

Located in a convenient spot with ample parking, Izakaya Akatsuki offers a homey vibe and authentic Japanese cuisine. The menu features generous portions, including the popular Mentai Cream Hot Pot with a flavorful creamy dashi broth, perfect for sharing. Other standout dishes are the Salmon & Ikura Kamameshi, served in a cast iron pot, and the Nabeyaki Udon, served in an iron pot with hearty broth and great chew on the noodles. House-made udon noodles are a highlight, with options like the original umami maze udon and spicy miso udon. The Japanese house Akatsuki special hot pot allows choice of broth, with the yuzu salt broth being a favorite. Additional items like the sashimi platter, grilled beef tongue, gyoza, and tempura are standard but solid. Desserts, including Japanese mochi ice cream, are not bad. Service is very friendly and attentive, with staff apologetic and helpful when an accidental spill occurred, offering complementary desserts. Walk-ins are often seated right away, but reservations are suggested for weekends and holidays. The restaurant has several dining areas, including Japanese style low table seating with legroom underneath. Note that high chairs are not advisable due to hot dishes.
