“I had been wanting to visit this place for a long time, and I finally went with friends the other day. It was exactly what I expected—a lovely atmosphere and delicious food. “Went to Yamashiro for the first time today! I have to say this is probably one of the best sushi places I have ever been to. The fried oysters were delicious! We ordered three different rolls and all of them were just beautiful from a presentation and artistry perspective, but tasting them was even better! The volcano roll was served on grapefruit slices, which made them very colorful and the scallops were cooked perfectly. The Yamashara roll was not only beautiful but it's the first time I have ever had mango with my sushi rolls and it actually added a really nice dimension of tropical fruit to already super fresh tasting tuna and avocado. The crispy roll had fried onions that were somehow not greasy, which was surprising. I'm wondering if they were air fried? But really great addition to texture for the rolls. We also had the yellowtail collar, which was cooked flawlessly. Oftentimes, yellowtail collar can you overcooked so part of it can be fairly dry. This caller was moist all the way around, perfect pockets of fish fat, and a very light unami salty flavor. The last thing we had, which I think was very fortunate because they don't always have it, was the Japanese tuna Ono which was cooked in a wonderful miso sauce.

I know I keep going on about this spot, but these rules were truly unique and I eat a lot of sushi, lol! Did I mention that we had a wonderful server, which I didn't get her name, but she's a Japanese woman that may have been the owner. I'm not sure, but her spirit was so respectful and refreshing and we loved her kindness and attentiveness. Really great service! I can't wait to go here again next time I visit the Redondo Beach area!!!“

“Delicious poke place, a bit pricey. Fresh fish, loads of options, friendly staff. One of the best places in the riviera village now, IMO.

The large is quite large. (See photo). You can get away with a regular. Avocado is, indeed, extra. Otherwise, unlimited toppings.

Price is pricey, probably upwards of 25 including tax. Go smaller to save. TBH the price is reasonable for the area, whole village gets expensive.

Flavor — can’t go wrong with salmon, tuna, scallop. It’s riviera village, so parking gets bad over the weekend. I try to park in a residential area near the village.“

“This place is a hidden gem and so delicious! Not only is the food 10/10 but the service is also great, they have a little QR code app to order the food and they’re so quick and attentive. Of course you can order up front too. Also they’ve decorated it super cute too - It’s hidden inside a strip mall sort of parking lot, so you might not realize it’s there.“

“Everytume we go out around a Holiday, can be precarious. Restaurant only had a couple of parties . One guy at the counter bar. Right where're we requested our seating at reservation. Obviously, no one read the request and didn't care. Got the eye roll gesture body language. Typically, the Restaurant is on top of it. Everything is 100% fresh! tofu was tasty light fried soft inside. curry flavor had just right spice tasty coconut balance & perfect cooked veggies. bright white rice so fluffy i munched it like a side dish. see ya next time!“

“We recently catered a birthday party w/Casa Playa. It was pretty short notice, 3 days, but they really made our party perfect! I called and Alathena helped walk me through the menu to choose just the right amount of food. They provided the buffet racks and the sterno (saved me a couple of trips looking for them). Everything was delivered exactly on time and hot! They even provided signs to make choosing easier. The food was DE-Licious!! Crispy tacos were awesome as were the enchiladas. Our guests kept raving about the food even the next day. If you need catering, call them! They’re terrific, easy to work with and very accommodating. Thank you Alathena! LC“

“Lovely place. Unfortunately for us, we've been passing this restaurant by for years, as there is almost always a small crowd waiting outside for a table. However, today we took a chance, parked on the street near the restaurant & ventured inside. -- The decor is not fancy, but the atmosphere is friendly, light & inviting. And, the smells coming from the kitchen, as well as the custom coffee drinks was enticing.
-- Our waitress was very friendly, knowledgeable about the menu, explained several dishes, answered questions we had about drinks, menu options, made solid recommendations, and easily took our orders. -- The drinks arrived fairly quickly, followed a few minutes later by our requested orders. Our meals were hot & freshly prepared as ordered (& had not been left sitting under warming lights.) The items we chose were very tasty, the fresh fruit cups were chilled & appeared to be prepped shortly before the meal was served. Very nice. Long before we had finished eating, we'd decided we would be returning to this hidden little gem on PCH to adventure further into the menu & sample some additional treats prepared by the chef & staff. “I’ve been going here for 15 years at least, always top notch service and food. I’ve moved away from redondo but whenever I’m in town I make sure to stop by and get a Special C every visit. I saw some for sale signs on the property and I really hope this location doesn’t move! It’s such a staple in the area, I used to sneak out of RUHS during lunch to run down and get burritos in high school. I would be very sad if it left their PCH spot!! They’re always so nice and so yummy!!“
