My only suggestion would be to make the ordering process a little clearer. Since there’s usually a line, having a menu posted outside would let people decide while waiting. It would also be helpful to clearly explain what comes with each bowl (rice, 2 proteins, 2 sides, etc.), since the current board can be a little confusing.

It was fresh, flavorful, perfectly baked, and had an amazing texture—crispy on the outside while still soft and airy on the inside. You can really tell they put care into making the dough. “Lovely place. Unfortunately for us, we've been passing this restaurant by for years, as there is almost always a small crowd waiting outside for a table. However, today we took a chance, parked on the street near the restaurant & ventured inside. -- The decor is not fancy, but the atmosphere is friendly, light & inviting. And, the smells coming from the kitchen, as well as the custom coffee drinks was enticing.
-- Our waitress was very friendly, knowledgeable about the menu, explained several dishes, answered questions we had about drinks, menu options, made solid recommendations, and easily took our orders. -- The drinks arrived fairly quickly, followed a few minutes later by our requested orders. Our meals were hot & freshly prepared as ordered (& had not been left sitting under warming lights.) The items we chose were very tasty, the fresh fruit cups were chilled & appeared to be prepped shortly before the meal was served. Very nice. Long before we had finished eating, we'd decided we would be returning to this hidden little gem on PCH to adventure further into the menu & sample some additional treats prepared by the chef & staff. “Went to Yamashiro for the first time today! I have to say this is probably one of the best sushi places I have ever been to. The fried oysters were delicious! We ordered three different rolls and all of them were just beautiful from a presentation and artistry perspective, but tasting them was even better! The volcano roll was served on grapefruit slices, which made them very colorful and the scallops were cooked perfectly. The Yamashara roll was not only beautiful but it's the first time I have ever had mango with my sushi rolls and it actually added a really nice dimension of tropical fruit to already super fresh tasting tuna and avocado. The crispy roll had fried onions that were somehow not greasy, which was surprising. I'm wondering if they were air fried? But really great addition to texture for the rolls. We also had the yellowtail collar, which was cooked flawlessly. Oftentimes, yellowtail collar can you overcooked so part of it can be fairly dry. This caller was moist all the way around, perfect pockets of fish fat, and a very light unami salty flavor. The last thing we had, which I think was very fortunate because they don't always have it, was the Japanese tuna Ono which was cooked in a wonderful miso sauce.

I know I keep going on about this spot, but these rules were truly unique and I eat a lot of sushi, lol! Did I mention that we had a wonderful server, which I didn't get her name, but she's a Japanese woman that may have been the owner. I'm not sure, but her spirit was so respectful and refreshing and we loved her kindness and attentiveness. Really great service! I can't wait to go here again next time I visit the Redondo Beach area!!!“

“Everytume we go out around a Holiday, can be precarious. Restaurant only had a couple of parties . One guy at the counter bar. Right where're we requested our seating at reservation. Obviously, no one read the request and didn't care. Got the eye roll gesture body language. Typically, the Restaurant is on top of it. Still the fish tacos are outstanding and chicken nachos Loved the food. We've been patrons since Hudson House open and always will be!!“

“We were in the area and wanted Thai food and Bamboo Thai Bistro came up. We stopped in and were greeted. We ordered the Wonton Soup to start, Mixed Vegetables with Chicken,Orange Chicken, and a side of Steamed Rice.

The food came out quickly and it was fresh and delicious.

For dessert, we had the Mango and Sticky rice. It was great.

We are glad we stopped in.

“I always love getting a poke bowl from rainbow. I usually order and then pick up for takeout. They have a few tables but the place is small. But the ocean is near and a good place to sit on a bench and eat poke’! The service is always friendly. I love adding the soba noodles and at times the eel to my bowl. So good. Plenty variety of salad ces and toppings.“

“We recently catered a birthday party w/Casa Playa. It was pretty short notice, 3 days, but they really made our party perfect! I called and Alathena helped walk me through the menu to choose just the right amount of food. They provided the buffet racks and the sterno (saved me a couple of trips looking for them). Everything was delivered exactly on time and hot! They even provided signs to make choosing easier. The food was DE-Licious!! Crispy tacos were awesome as were the enchiladas. “Food and portions were really good. We were definitely planning to come back, but when we asked for water, we were told that they only sell bottled water. It was a turn off. I would highly recommend that you just offer your customers cups of water without having to pay. Otherwise we probably won't be coming back to dine in.“

“This place is a hidden gem and so delicious! Not only is the food 10/10 but the service is also great, they have a little QR code app to order the food and they’re so quick and attentive. Of course you can order up front too. Also they’ve decorated it super cute too - It’s hidden inside a strip mall sort of parking lot, so you might not realize it’s there.“

“Zoku was a great first-time experience. We started with the spicy karaage, yaki onigiri, and shishito peppers, and everything was well-seasoned and full of character. The onigiri was particularly memorable—smoky, savory, and delicious. The shishitos had a unique spice medley with an earthy, green umami flavor, while the karaage brought an approachable medium heat and an almost angry dark color that made it even more intriguing.

The Zoku Salad, their take on a Japanese Caesar, was colorful, textural, and genuinely pleasant to eat. We also worked our way through all eight chicken kushiyaki options. The wasabi, meatball, and spicy momo were the standouts.

Service was friendly, efficient, and energetic. The staff were on the ball throughout the meal. Add in the fun, casual atmosphere, and Zoku is an easy place to recommend. Definitely looking forward to going back.“
