“Went to Yamashiro for the first time today! I have to say this is probably one of the best sushi places I have ever been to. The fried oysters were delicious! We ordered three different rolls and all of them were just beautiful from a presentation and artistry perspective, but tasting them was even better! The volcano roll was served on grapefruit slices, which made them very colorful and the scallops were cooked perfectly. The Yamashara roll was not only beautiful but it's the first time I have ever had mango with my sushi rolls and it actually added a really nice dimension of tropical fruit to already super fresh tasting tuna and avocado. The crispy roll had fried onions that were somehow not greasy, which was surprising. I'm wondering if they were air fried? But really great addition to texture for the rolls. We also had the yellowtail collar, which was cooked flawlessly. Oftentimes, yellowtail collar can you overcooked so part of it can be fairly dry. This caller was moist all the way around, perfect pockets of fish fat, and a very light unami salty flavor. The last thing we had, which I think was very fortunate because they don't always have it, was the Japanese tuna Ono which was cooked in a wonderful miso sauce.

I know I keep going on about this spot, but these rules were truly unique and I eat a lot of sushi, lol! Did I mention that we had a wonderful server, which I didn't get her name, but she's a Japanese woman that may have been the owner. I'm not sure, but her spirit was so respectful and refreshing and we loved her kindness and attentiveness. Really great service! I can't wait to go here again next time I visit the Redondo Beach area!!!“

“This is our favorite poke bowl spot in the area because you have so many options and everything is fresh and delicious. The bows range in size so you can do a lighter bowl with a green base or go for the traditional rice if you dare. The eel here is really good and most poke spots don't even offer it. Fish is super fresh and there are seemingly endless toppings, sauces, add-on, and choices where you could do thousands of combinations. There are little things too.. just the say the kitchen puts the blows together they always look very artistic and appetizing.. other spots the bowls just aren't this pretty. If you love poke this is the place for the fully loaded style bowls with a ton of options.“

Of course you can order up front too. Also they’ve decorated it super cute too - It’s hidden inside a strip mall sort of parking lot, so you might not realize it’s there.“

“Wow! I was very surprised and impressed by the quality and taste of this fish! I got the fisherman's basket and they sent out a trio of dipping sauces. Very tasty very yummy. The fish was cooked wonderfully the calamari tasted great. The crabcake was over the top! And the value was incredible. this place is definitely got a good restaurant strategy going. come try it. “Everytume we go out around a Holiday, can be precarious. Restaurant only had a couple of parties . One guy at the counter bar. Right where're we requested our seating at reservation. Obviously, no one read the request and didn't care. Got the eye roll gesture body language. Typically, the Restaurant is on top of it. Still the fish tacos are outstanding and chicken nachos Loved the food. We've been patrons since Hudson House open and always will be!!“

“We recently catered a birthday party w/Casa Playa. It was pretty short notice, 3 days, but they really made our party perfect! I called and Alathena helped walk me through the menu to choose just the right amount of food. They provided the buffet racks and the sterno (saved me a couple of trips looking for them). Everything was delivered exactly on time and hot! They even provided signs to make choosing easier. The food was DE-Licious!! Crispy tacos were awesome as were the enchiladas. “First time at this Cafe. Super nice atmosphere the people are great! My dad always says “that’s what makes a place good”. The food was very good (sorry no pics) but I ordered the Wildflower Two’s (eggs over easy w/ham and potatoes (not greasy) and rosemary garlic toast. Our server Andrea was super nice!
