“They're this small mom and pop shop and it's really just so so cute! She's super friendly and sweet (i believe its the owner?)I wasnt that hungry but got one roll, and omg it was delicious.I def am coming back here- and knowing it's a small shop, it makes me wanna support even more.its a to go place tho i think? but just take it, walk down to the beach and have sushi by the beach. in the sand. 10/10“
“Everyone at the table agreed this was some of the best sushi we had ever had! In addition to the excellent food, the service was outstanding. Even though the restaurant was very busy, some of our starters came out so fast, which was satisfying because we were all very hungry! I really appreciated that the waiter helped us pick our dishes and decide how much to order for the table. The experience from start to finish was five stars, thank you for having us!“
“When I first walked in I was a little leary as there were only a couple of tables with people at them. My opinion quickly changed as the flavor of the food and the service was really good. This is a little hole in the wall place but I would definitely go back and recommend it.“
“Sushi was excellent, service was top-notch, staff was friendly. Only thing I would say knocked it down a rating was the calamari appetizer could have used a bit more flavor but I am being very picky. Still finished the whole thing! Not from the area but if I come back, I would go back here. They played electronic music, which I personally love, but can see how some folks may not like the vibe because of the music.“
“Best meal I've had in years. Every once in a while you stumble upon a place like this. This hits my sweet spot for a restaurant. Nothing pretentious or fancy for no reason. Just super high quality food, prepared with care and creativity. Every dish we had was excellent. Just the right balance of flavors and textures: not too salty, sweet, or strong. Everything cooked to perfection - fried mushrooms were just cooked enough on the inside but not overcooked, and perfectly crisp on the outside. The kabocha squash was the perfect texture. We loved the chunky cut cucumber dish, unique! Lobster miso ramen was so delicious and creative! Who has ever heard of that? So much I want to learn from this chef. Even the plain brown rice was perfectly prepared. You can taste the quality in the ingredients, probably local and organic. Service was perfect, just attentive enough without ever interrupting. Top 3 most memorable meals I've ever had. I get the sense the chef here could have Michelin stars if they wanted that, but have opted for a less stressful and pretentious operation. I'm so glad they chose this path. Truly fantastic experience. Had a wonderful date with my girlfriend!Dietary restrictions: Dedicated gluten free, 0 reaction.“
“I never leave reviews but felt inclined after reading the review from “Englisberg”It was a 3/5 rating based on service declining over the years from the self proclaimed “local”I’ve got a knack for these things and after seeing he/she only leaves 1 star reviews basically everywhere… YOU’RE THE PROBLEM. Service declined because you sir/ma’am are insufferable. I cannot imagine having to deal with you in everyday life.Back to O-Sho!If you like excellent service, excellent food, and of yeah, a smile from every person on their staff each and every time you walk in… this should be in your regular rotation of places to eat.Arigato O-Sho!“
“Or Friday night sushi place, nice and fresh and quick to prepare. Tasty rolls and nigiri, everything we have had here has been fresh and thoughtfully prepared, admirable for a sushi to go place.Always a pleasure to pick up from this kitchen facing the parking lot in front of the Manhattan village. Not too be missed!“
“I hope this place survives, but it’s not as good as it used to be. Now they give you a lot of rice and very little chicken. I hope they change that. Saving money today is going to be more expensive on the long run. People are going to stop going back.I’m glad the girl that has been there for many years is still there. I miss the other girl that left. It’s difficult to find staff that connects with the customers. And it is one of the main reasons people go back to a place. The food, the service, and the atmosphere depend on who is working when I go there, so I am not going to rate that.“
“I got to try the things I normally order and love from sushi spots and have those same favorites but with different tasty twists from sushi roku. The calamari was surprising and yummy. The meat skewers were the highlight. One of those loud busy places so that's the service you get. The crispy fried rice with Tuna is a great idea but I question the execution but am not complaining about flavors.“
“We had a date on Sunday evening. It was such a right choice for us to go to Manhattan beach & have dinner. We planned to go to Sugarfish but changed our mind in the last minute. The service & atmosphere is nice. Asian style, they take care abt their clients. The food is good & affordable. The seasoning is a lil bit plain. If you have tried Japanese food before, the flavor is Japanese. But if not, you should try. I love fresh sashimi but my bf, he liked fried chicken & others. So the bill is $73. I think it’s affordable in this nice restaurant & in Manhattan beach.Dietary restrictions: Fresh fish, seafood & green teaParking: 2 hours limitedKid-friendliness: YesWheelchair accessibility: Yes“
“We are returning Redondo beach expats. We chanced SLR for lunch. We were welcomed, seated and our order taken promptly. Our spicy tuna roll and the The Shoyu on Fire Ramen bowl were both AMAZING! I grow Carolina Reapers back on my farm in NZ (along with 12 hot other pepper varieties). The level of heat, with our dishes, did not disappoint. The pork in our Shoyu ramen bowl was wonderfully tender. I wish I had more than one stomach…would have loved to try their other ramen bowls! Well done SLR?“
“My go-to place for sushi when I happen to be in LA. There are no reservations, so you typically have to wait, but for not a lot of time. They have the right match of service people to tables and their system works well. The fish is always fresh and the tip is a flat rate on the bill at 16%. It’s a pretty small place, so probably not good for groups larger than 6 or with picky eaters (this is a sushi restaurant and doesn’t have too much else). The only ding is the their app sometimes calls you for your table too early and you have to wait in the restaurant before they call you back up.“
