“Well it lived up to the hype. From one chef to another..bravovery well executed. Took a little long to get my food, and I would want a little more sauce and ramen and..ok fish too for the $48 it costs...but that sauce was amazing...some spicy fish tomato sauce or something whatever it was it was bomb. The desserts look tempting...Definitely some of the best food I've had for a while. I'll be back for sure..hopefully with a group so I can taste all their dishes.”

“Good food. We ordered the chicken Cesar salad, pepperoni pizza and truffle pizza.The first two were very delicious. The brie-truffle pizza was simply alright.But lets talk about that homemade giant cinnamon roll though …. I’d drive all the way there to satisfy that craving any day!The cappuccino was good too. First time in LA I found a decent capp, I usually order cappuccinos and end up with lattés !The location is perfect, overlooking the water. Would absolutely recommend.”

“Our waiter was friendly and fantastic. The venue itself is very cool. But cool in temperature too. The whole front of the place is open with no wall and we had to keep our jackets on the whole time. The food was very tasty and we loved the trio of guacamole. The filet tacos were too smokey flavored. We finished with the flan and it was amazing. Big enough to share!”

“Decent atmosphere, kinda dark and fairly loud. Food was over all good. The meatballs were good, but nothing crazy. The ricotta wip was a good addition to them and the bread was good and crispy. The mushrooms lasagna was absolutely over powered by the balsamic and wayyyy too sweet. The egg pizza was delicious from the dough to the toppings. The desserts however were best described by my friend as grocery store desserts. Tiramisu was ok, missing half a layer... Strawberry shortcake a hard pass. Neither worth it imo.”

“Good upscale “fast food”. The manager, Sandro was attentive, even though this is a fast food restaurant. Unique vegetarian options as well as unique takes on traditional dishes. Atmosphere is better than a fast food restaurant.”

“Go inside and a you’ll be magnetized. The setting is pleasing, comfortable and elegant. There are tables of differing sizes depending on party size. The barista was great- he made me a wonderful matcha w honey drink that was delicious. The food was great. French omelette is yum. Loved the service”

“My go-to place for sushi when I happen to be in LA. There are no reservations, so you typically have to wait, but for not a lot of time. They have the right match of service people to tables and their system works well. The fish is always fresh and the tip is a flat rate on the bill at 16%. It’s a pretty small place, so probably not good for groups larger than 6 or with picky eaters (this is a sushi restaurant and doesn’t have too much else). The only ding is the their app sometimes calls you for your table too early and you have to wait in the restaurant before they call you back up.”

“Solid neighborhood seafood-focused pub-style restaurant. Island style, Tommy Bahamas vibe decor, lots of TVs, but not intrusive. Table and booth seating and lots of bar seats. We have been for early dinner twice and do not miss their happy hour or Taco Tuesday! Great prices on apps and drinks. We love the Coconut Shrimp and Chipotle Calamari.”

“We ordered 3 dishes. The portions were good and they taste fresh. The French fries were average, they weren't bad or particularly good. All in all, the place is a bit on the pricier side, but you definitely get your money's worth. “Arthur J has been the staple go-to restaurant for me and my husband everytime we celebrate a new promotion, new job, raise, etc. We always invite out another couple to dine with us to celebrate, and the past two times (including tonight) was a bit of a disappointment. We have always ordered the tomahawk steak the past 4-5 times we've dined here, and tonight it was so fatty that there were probably only 16 oz of edible meat... from a 40oz steak. I know the bone is included in the weight, but I really could not see this Tomahawk feeding two people. I wish I had taken a photo of the Tomahawk because I really couldn't believe how small it looked. One of the entire end pieces was pure fat. Literally maybe a tiny sliver of meat (think like the size of a dime) on a 3x3" piece of fat. I did a brief perusal of the Yelp photos of the Arthur J Tomahawk to check my recollection of previous versions of the Tomahawk we had and yeah, the piece we got tonight did not look like anything from the Yelp photos or from our previous experiences. I rarely update Yelp reviews, but tonight's experience was just such a steep, stark contrast to the first time we dined here so many years ago. The first time we dined here, we ordered the Tomahawk and the manager came out and said the chef overcooked it, so he was embarrassed and refused to serve it so he let us choose anything else on the menu for free. Our party was shocked, we hadn't asked for any freebies. But that experience has always stuck out because it showed us how much Arthur J valued the quality of their product and service. In stark contrast to that first experience, I just can't believe how far downhill the standards have gone. I never like to just completely overlook the good parts in a review so here's the good: service was friendly albeit slightly slow, sides were good- especially the beef fat fries. I also like being able to pay the check on my phone.”

“Oh my goodness what a hidden gem!Stunning pastries and lovely French sandwiches. Besides the things Americans might expect at a French bakery they have a diversity of more classic French treats and some experiments that' say "Californie" to me such as the double chocolate croissant which is a lovely even deep brown, every crumb of it -- had to buy that to share with my dad. The relaxed sunny vibe locates this shop right between Manhattan Beach snd, I dunno, Saint Tropez. If you are South Bay bound worth the trek. I'm jazzed to have a bag of their goodies to go.The cappuccino tastes French. Magnifique.”

“It’s a worthy dive bar with a frigging delicious hamburger. We went for the atmosphere having walked by on our vacation to Manhattan Beach and had to go back. If you love an authentic old bar and are happy with a great cheeseburger and chips and can overlook a sticky table and a bit scary bathroom situation, this is your spot. A breath of fresh air from our usual bougie eating in South Bay. Did I mention the burger was delicious??”

“I had the trout dish, spinach and mash potatoes. I would've given it five stars, but the flavor was a bit unseasoned. However, it was perfectly cooked and fresh. I would of course return and try more things! My mentor had the French toast dish, we came here on her mention and it was wonderful. We saw outside and could see the ocean from our view - the overall ambience was incredible. I seen a sign saying that it was open all night and I think that is really awesome! I can't wait to return. “Definitely a 5/5 experience overall.My wife and I ordered:- Mushroom Choriqueso: the chips it came with were freshly delicious. The size of the bowl the dip came in was just right. The dip was not too oily. Also came with a small salsa, though it needed something more solid in it.- Dos Gringas (al pastor tacos): the highlight were the tortillas - perfection! Lots of meat. Lots of delicious sauce though a bit too much- Mexican Kale Salad: I’d say this salad is more American than Mexican. For my wife this dish was perfect though for me it was too subtle, though still very good- El Verde mocktail - perfection & refreshing. Try it- Chef Jose’s flan with rompope - seriously the best flan ever. You can taste the alcohol from the rompope, which complements the flan. A serious must try!Our server was great, though they overall were grabbing our old dishes too quickly. The place has nice private booths.”

“Stopped in for a couple of happy hour drinks and apps. The outdoor patio seating was nice. The atmosphere was great. The drinks were pretty good, but more on the sweet side.We had the fries and wings, both of which were pretty good.The service was ok, but both the bartender and our server seemed very annoyed of everyone. The one hiccup was that we ordered a flavoured coffee flight & they were all iced! Wife said she knew, but I didn’t catch that they weren’t hot coffee. So people really like cold coffee?? “I can’t say enough about Lido! I personally love the food, atmosphere and staff. I have also had several events in the back patio area, including a monthly Kiwanis meeting, and they are always seamless. Lisa, Carlos, Javier and the rest of the team always make sure everything runs smoothly. If you are just going to dinner or throwing a party this is a great spot!”

“When I first walked in I was a little leary as there were only a couple of tables with people at them. My opinion quickly changed as the flavor of the food and the service was really good. This is a little hole in the wall place but I would definitely go back and recommend it.”

Food: Main courses were 50/50 - mussels were fresh and yummy; the coq au vin chicken was dry and a tad over cooked but the vin sauce was tasty. The deviled eggs appetizer was disappointing as it tasted like it was made the day before. Service was solid and attentive. The interior needs some sound dampening as the main dining area is way too loud. You have to almost yell to carry on a conversation because everyone is doing the same.”

Although a service at the counter place, the server checked in with us and served us another drink round. Imagine the place must be loud inside based on all the hard surfaces , but we sat outside on a nice day for the ocean view.”

“Update from April 2024: Birthday lunch celebration at Joey. Place was packed on a Tuesday lunch time which seems crazy given the prices. I tried the chicken Katsu salad for the very first time. Very tasty and delicious and good amount of crunch. Especially liked the finely sliced peppers that give this sweet peanut sauce a nice kick. My companion had the ravioli bianco that came with a bunch of shrimp. It was a cream sauce based. I think it was worth it, since the plate was completely cleaned. Good attentive service.Jan 2023 review: You can always rely on Joeys high quality and tasty food. I have the poke bowl with ahi and it was amazing but not sure if it is worth $25.”

“We went on March 23, 2024We waited 5 minutes for them to give us a table for 8 people, the waiter was very friendly and bilingual, which I liked because in several restaurants they no longer want to speak in Spanish, the food was delicious, he was quick to serve, there is a refill of salad and certain drinks, a family and cozy atmosphere, even the waiter very kindly took 1 photo of us for which we thank him, excellent day!!!”

“Found Pachanga by chance visiting our nephew who flew in from Panama he was one of the pilot's he had layover till following morning. We literally drove over an hour to visit him. To take him out to eat. We drove up and down the street and found Pachanga a small little place hidden in a little shopping area. I ordered the chicken shredder it was very good the others ordered tacos which they enjoyed. If ever I return to this area. I will for sure stop at Pachanga's. Diffenetly a THUMBS UP.....”

“Hi-Fi is a unique coffee spot in Manhattan beach. I ordered Iced French toast latte with macadamia milk and it was really tasty and a good pick me up. Beckers bakery being in the same building is the icing on the cake because you can get a sweet pastry with your coffee! The staff are super friendly and helpful and they'll offer suggestions if you aren't sure what to get but worth the stop in.”

Sharkeez has great service, great deals and good food. They have ridiculous happy hour specials. If you come at night it's a whole other story, but that's on the clientele and not the staff. “I got to try the things I normally order and love from sushi spots and have those same favorites but with different tasty twists from sushi roku. The calamari was surprising and yummy. The meat skewers were the highlight. One of those loud busy places so that's the service you get. The crispy fried rice with Tuna is a great idea but I question the execution but am not complaining about flavors.”

Look, I'm a guy who gladly exchanges money for quality. And almost $8 for a taco near the ocean would work IF they weren't so small. I mean, there was more onion than protein. They left a bad taste in my mouth, no pun intended. I am an accountant and business owner and fully get the overhead deal. But this felt exorbitant. That's my only ding. A great place to meet with a guest/buddy/date for lunch. I will be back. The tacos were delicious! As were the chips. Great if the person who puts the onions on the tacos switches with the person who puts the protein on the tacos.”

I would of course return and try more things! My mentor had the French toast dish, we came here on her mention and it was wonderful. “Update from April 2024: Birthday lunch celebration at Joey. Place was packed on a Tuesday lunch time which seems crazy given the prices. I tried the chicken Katsu salad for the very first time. Very tasty and delicious and good amount of crunch. Especially liked the finely sliced peppers that give this sweet peanut sauce a nice kick. My companion had the ravioli bianco that came with a bunch of shrimp. It was a cream sauce based. I think it was worth it, since the plate was completely cleaned. “This is one of the best El Pollo Loco I have ever had. I had stopped going to El Pollo Loco because at other locations, they are not that clean and always have an odor. I would eat the chicken and it would upset my stomach. By chance My husband and I, stopped at this location and got the Crunchy Chicken Tacos and it was absolutely amazing. The Resuturant was clean. It did not smell and the customer service was top notch. This team today was absolutely fanstactic. You made my $18 dollars worth every dime. Thank You. We will be back.”

“This is a busy beach area restaurant. Friday and Saturday nights are trendy crowds. I made reservations and was seated immediately. Ashleigh B was our server and she was attentive. She checked to see if we needed anything and how our meal. She also suggested the news cocktail for st. Patrick’s Day, the toasted grasshopper martini ?. This is a minty drink. I ordered the honey glaze salmon with rice and broccoli. My salmon and rice were tasty but the broccoli lacked flavor. The Cesar salad with grilled chicken was tasty. This restaurant has large patio with heaters and TV’s. We came for happy hour and to watch March Madness. Parking on Fridays and Saturdays can be a challenge. All of the parking is meter parking. It gets crowded fast. Here’s a tip…. Sunday’s parking is free.Parking: Sunday’s party is free”
