“Came on a Sunday morning around 11 small layout but had lots of room for my bigger party of 7 was very authentic came due to saying it was Jalisco style food and it indeed was the birria was very flavorful salsas were on point the torta on menu reminded me of ones my mother made it was all around good food.the only flaw I have is they don’t serve alcohol but they accommodate very well.”

“With my wedding just a month away, I’ve been having so much fun preparing the menu and exploring different restaurants to create a beautiful variety of flavors and nationalities for our reception. I sampled chicken from four different spots around Los Angeles—each one had something going for it, but none felt quite right for our big day. One was a bit dry, another a little too crispy, and another slightly too salty.
Just when I was considering renting a large barbecue grill and cooking the chicken myself, a friend suggested I try this restaurant. It’s a true hole-in-the-wall spot tucked along a very busy street—exactly the kind of hidden gem you might overlook. In fact, on the day I stopped by, there were multiple emergency vehicles less than a block away. That might make some people hesitate, but I decided to trust the recommendation and give it a try.
I ordered the half chicken meal—and I’m so glad I did! It was absolutely delicious. The flavor, tenderness, and seasoning were spot on. Even my son agreed, and he hadn’t liked any of the other chicken options I brought home for him to taste.
In the end, the incredible taste made it completely worth stepping a little outside my comfort zone. Without a doubt, this is the chicken we’ll be serving at our wedding reception. I’m so happy to have found the perfect place!”

“We stopped in for lunch - got the taco combo, which came with delicious consomme and some extra tacos. We thought the food was really fresh and flavorful. We sat at the tables outside - has shade canopy - road is busy but it was easy to find the location and park at side of road. Friendly people”

“Surprised at how meh these were. Prices for portion size were good. Salsa bar pretty good but nothing here really stood out. Mulitas almost tasteless (Cabeza & suadero). Al pastor is fine but not great. Gringas taco was best of the lot and is a ton of food, but again, flavors just aren’t there. Much better options out there.”

The red onion focaccia bread with herb and Parmesan butter, added Burrata - best- seller, a must. The 3 day brined smoked fried chicken-different taste, with soy and Chiles, a must!!!The Peruvian pork belly with sweet potato , Criolla and crispy quinoa , love it! And the Grilled NY steak with green garlic chimichurri, chorizo aioli and pommes pont neuf, thick cut fries…my son prefers over the fried chicken.”

“We had a wonderful time. We kicked off my hubby's birthday with great food, wonderful vibes and incredible service!! My husband could not stop raving about the eggs! We literally came back for the biscuits. I hate that I don't remember our waitresses name because she was so sweet and attentive. She was also kind enough to bring us a complimentary round of champs and mimosas!! This is our second time coming in and the service is not only consistent, it keeps getting better!”

“Tonight we, my husband and I, with our dear friends, the Crays, dined at Tomat for the first of what will be many times. The restaurant features a dining room and a roof top patio. A welcoming, comfortable space. The staff were all friendly and very knowledgeable about all menu items. Our server Miley took excellent care of us throughout dinner and dessert. She assisted us with choosing items that would pair well with each other. She was never too busy to stop to see if everything was to our liking. She brought the chef to our table so we could let him know personally how much we enjoyed his creations. He gave us a bit of background on his plan of sustainability and creativity for his restaurant. The food was amazing. We had several appetizers. The tuna carpaccio was amazing, light and dark tuna with the freshest tomatoes. The welsh rarebit was so delicious. The weiser melon with strawberry kimchi was a delicious surprise. The house milled saffron rice was amazing. Our mains did not disappoint. The trout and chips were excellent. Everyone at the table said “best trout we have ever had”. The vegetable chips were outstanding. The vaca vieja ribeye was perfectly cooked. The pork three ways with chamoy was also perfectly cooked. Dessert was madelines, warm from the oven, with the strawberry sorbet and the saffron ice cream. All were outstanding. Overall, this was a fabulous dining experience. Great food with great service in such a comfortable atmosphere. And, we have already made reservations for next month!”

Chef Bo was so nice to come out to our table and all I can say is she was a very nice, young & talented person. She even made me a special dessert for my birthday. Thanks Bo❤️ I highly recommend this place if you want an authentic, excellent and delicious food. In addition, the place is so full of life. The decor is amazing!
