Called in for an early dinner and struck the 5pm Happy Hour. Lovely spot sitting outside sheltered from the sun but enjoying a light breeze.
Hibiscus margarita recommended by my waitress was very nice. Tacos and nachos were delicious although the nachos alone are probably enough for a meal. Regardless I ate both, and enjoyed them immensely. We had a wonderful experience at El Mercado Mexican Restaurant in Manhattan beach! Fernanda was so pleasant and made us feel very welcome from the moment we arrived. And Gabe, the bartender, was awesome—he made the best drinks! Great service, great atmosphere, and delicious food. We will definitely be back! 🌮🍹😊
We visited Mercado while coming from Seattle, and honestly, this place completely exceeded our expectations. Mercado in Manhattan Beach is a great spot for Mexican food in a relaxed and lively atmosphere. The food is tasty and well made, with good-quality ingredients, and good margaritas. The filet mignon tacos were absolutely incredible—perfectly cooked, tender steak layered with fresh toppings on warm tortillas. The best fish tacos in years, with delicious sauces and pico. The tamarind salad dressing on the appetizer salad was unexpectedly delicious, and the churro icing for dessert was the perfect way to finish the meal. The prickly pear spicy margarita was super flavorful and strong. The carnitas nachos, dos gringas tacos, and enchiladas de pollo en mole were amazing. The service was excellent, with attentive staff. The bathrooms were maintained clean. A solid choice for a casual dinner, drinks, or happy hour with plenty of seating. Great food, great service, great value.
