“The service was wonderful, we had a big party and came in about an hour and a half to close, the staff was so kind and gracious in letting us stay a little after close. Such wonderful prices for the quality and service, cannot recommend enough.“
“seaweed salad and gyoza were great to start! the ambiance feels moderately dedicated towards japanese culture which is always a plus. they may have been understaffed when I came, but service was a bit weak. The ramen entree left a bit more to be desired flavor-wise, but I do really appreciate the vibe in the establishment. I would come again!“
“Not the best ramen i’ve tasted, but it was pretty tasty for it to be done in 10 minutes. I got the chicken ramen, which had a lot of spice but not a lot of seasoning. I would rate it a 7.5-8/10. The service was very good and food came quickly. The restaurant has a nice interior design.“
“Food was good, service was alright but the bill charged 12% tax (Santa Monica sales tax is 10.25%). Manager claimed it only happened to our bill but who really knows. We didn't get it adjusted because didn't bother to but I would double check if you've got a big bill.“
“Japanese ramen chain in the Century City Mall. Came here for dinner with a friend and had no reservation, but we were able to get seated immediately. Credit cards accepted. You pick out your customized ramen via a piece of paper and you can also opt for appetizers. A vegetarian option is available. We got edamame to split and I opted for the red king, which had a good amount of spice. Compared to the Manila location, the portions were on the smaller side, but we still left satisfied. You can customize the spice level, noodle type, and the toppings. Service was a bit rushed but still friendly. Overall, it’s a good spot to have a meal on a cold night.“
“I come to LA from the east coast once or twice per year and I make my travel schedule around eating at Moto once per visit. The tan tan men ramen is absolutely the best ramen I have ever had. The broth is pure perfection... The side dishes are solid as well and the sushi is simple, but out of this world fresh and tasty. Sam is a great host. See you on my next trip Moto!!!“
“YOOO, this place is BOMB!! I got the Curry Ramen with Egg and I couldn’t believe how good it was. GREAT curry broth - well-spiced but not spicy. Nice noodles and meat too. Wish it had a bit more meat though. I’m from Hawai’i and grew up on Japanese Curry and Ramen. It really tasted like home. They were playing some good reggae music when we were there, so it sounded like home too.Went here because the other ramen place we wanted to go to down the street was an hour wait. So glad we did! We (party of 3) were seated right away on a Saturday night. We sat outside in the covered area. It was a cold night out but their heaters were so good that I took off my jacket and was wearing a short sleeve shirt. Nice waiters - did a great job at checking on us in case we needed anything. DEFINITELY coming back the next time I’m in the area. Will be bringing more friends along too.Parking: Parking sucks at night on the weekend, but that’s common in this area. I got free street parking as I parked after the time you have to pay. I wanna say past 8?“
“Tsujita La Artisan Noodle Annex is the best Dipping Ramen ( Tsukemen ) in LA , closest noodles I’ve felt in Japan. Here the noodles are thick and springy, they kept separate from garlicky and flavorful broth to maintain the chewable. It’s perfect for me!“
“I have to write this up while the food is fresh on my mind. Had an incredible meal here last night complete with cauliflower hot wings, two incredible vegan rolls of sushi (I'm not vegan and literally couldn't tell) and these jalapeno Boyz that were absolutely delicious! In short, I was absolutely blown away by the food, the service, and + bro, they have SNAPPLE. No photos because we devoured everything, no crumbs left behind.“
“Sweet little takeout soot with pleasing mod interior design & thoughtful touches throughout. We enjoyed the two vegan options and they each had very distinct flavor profiles, the spicy one being quite hot by default but still delicious. Really nice service and kind people. Highly recommend!“
“This was my first experience with mazemen and it did not disappoint. It was a recommendation from my buddy who lives locally and I will absolutely return. The vinegar adds a delicious change in flavor profile and compliments the egg yolk and the fatty flavor and umami taste and mouth feel. This was one of my favorite things I’ve eaten in the last year to be honest. Fantastic food. Great little atmosphere and great service. Totally decent pricing too.“
“Very pleasant little place. Portions were not as big as some places, and the prices reflect. This is a good thing. The Kale noodles were really good. I was not expecting that. I veered from my usual pork based broth to a chicken and maybe that wasn’t the best idea but over all I was very “
“Ramen Chef Kei is a highly skilled and very talented chef and the valley is lucky to have such plant based food of this caliber being offered. The yuzu sesame ramen is extraordinarily delicious, full of depth and flavor! The fresh yuzu really brings all the flavors out in the dish and I loved it! This is a spot to drive out of your way it's that delicious. Go now, thank me later!“
“Wonderful place, I absolutely love tur vibe and atmosphere. We ate here shortly after landing in LA. I had the black garlic ramen and I found it to be smooth and full of flavor. I certainly recommend adding an egg.We also had the gyoza (only comes with 4) and the sauce was unique, a flavor I haven't had before.“
“Overall experience it was good! The wait wasn’t too long. I think we came around the lunch time rush hour on a weekday with 40min wait?Dipping sauce was good and creamy. I was so full afterwards! Worth trying it again. The pricing was on a higher side.I also got the iced matcha. I really didn’t like it. It tasted like powered matcha poured with ice cold water. Highly don’t recommend getting the drink. Wasted my money.Paid street parking only. Paid $2 street parking for max 2 hour parking.“
“Dope lil spot tucked away in Sherman Oaks. Quality sushi, great service. Fun tunes too. Going to be a go to spot. Tonight had the Oh My Goodness Roll and the I Love Salmon Roll. Who's set the playlist here? They deserve some recognition.“
“I had takeaways a couple of times before & finally did dining ? in about a couple of weeks ago ! With my mom & sister & her husband . The waiter was super nice ,a very friendly Japanese guy who was excited to see Japanese customers !! He answered to all of my brother in law's questions & our questions very honestly & helped us a lot. He gave us a tip to get ramen/ sushi combinations, too ! So that we could try both out / save $ !! They had matcha beer ? which was green !! It smelled so nice !! My brother in law said he loved it! But,according to the waiter ,no one really does !? LOL He said everyone who orders it ,leaves a half .?But ,he really loved it as he likes matcha green tea .We had vegan sushi ,my fave is fake eel one !! So yummy !! ? Also, my sister's vegetarian fried rice - eggs = vegan looked/ smelled so good !! She loved it !! She had it w tofu ! We all had fried tofu, which is also vegan. I had a vegan miso Ramen & mom had a vegan shoyu = soy sauce ,Ramen, I had a bite of it ,too & both were delicious !! ? When we left ,the waiter ran out the store to catch us to thank us !! So sweet !! I HIGHLY recommend this restaurant for vegans, vegetarians & everybody who loves Japanese dishes !! The inside of the restaurant looked real nice / clean !! The bathroom was clean, too ! We were the only Japanese inside ! Lol. They were busy & all others were American customers. As well as my brother in law . My sister is American since a decade ago ! We'll definitely frequent this place !! They are very close to Trader Joe's & Farmers market & the Grove !! So you can visit them after you are done with some shopping ! ?Vegetarian options: Vegetarian fried rice ,2 different kinds of vegan sushi & vegan Ramen, miso or shoyu= soy sauce broth. Fried tofu dish, etc.!! I highly recommend all !!Wheelchair accessibility: My mom uses her wheelchair & it was easy to get in ( ramp ) & maneuve it inside ,they helped her a lot ,too ! Very nice !!“
“We came here on a whim, after finding The Daily Outpost mysteriously closed on a Friday evening. Umigame is so good! Everything, from the poke bowl, salmon teriyaki, brussels sprouts, and edamame, were perfect! High quality food beautifully prepared. Very good service also. We will definitely be back.“
“It’s a unique take on ramen, good depth of flavor, great noodles, but for me the truffle dominates and the richness of the soup is too buttery. Like it for something new, but I prefer a more traditional take. I like truffle and I have had a dozen bowls in Tokyo. I was expecting the price, but at the end of the night it felt too steep.“
“This was an excellent meal. Merci the hostess who served me and took my order was very nice and attentive. The food itself, excellent. The salad that I got was sooo good. The dressing is some kind of sesame dressing and it was fabulous. Usually restaurants treat their salads as an afterthought and give you something basic with ranch, but not Kai ramen. The salad, wow.The ramen was also excellent. The broth was great and full of flavor and was nice and warm (temperature and heat wise, I got medium). The dish had a lot of different ingredients which kept it exciting throughout.Excellent experience, will be back again!(Parking lot fills up quick and is small, plan accordingly)“
“DAMN! The best killer noodles! The noodles can go as hot as you want, from a scale of 1 through 6. My limit is 3 but I'm more comfortable with a level 2. Even at 2, I'm sweating. Every now and then, when I'm in a mood to torture myself with amazing spices, I go here. Try it, you will understand!“
“Found this spot last week when a storm passed by Los Angeles. It was all seats taken but I was able to do a take a take out. Wasn't really expecting something just something to eat when we got home. It was good. Unique flavor. I tried the miso and soy ramen.Today I brought the whole family we had a lot to eat I wanted to try the menu. We will be taking out some food for tommorow but I'm happy with the food.“
“Little hole in the wall 5 mins from LAX serving super solid tonkotsu that wasn't too salty like some places...Don't skip the karaage chicken either, with the aioli it came with it made a great appetizer. Pro tip- when you run out of chashu in your ramen just dump the karaage inFood came out super fast too, great spot to stop before heading out LAX if you have an extra hour to spare.“
“Really great sushi restaurant… we eat sushi a lot and this is high quality, yet reasonably priced. Very cosy inside, service was excellent & particular favourites were the Seared Salmon, Spicy Tuna (no.2) and the Lauren Roll. Highly recommend!“
“I have eaten at a variety of the ramen spots in the nearby Sawtelle Japantown (formerly Little Osaka ). This place is better than any of them. The broth is superb and the noodles perfectly cooked. Recommend trying it for every ramen lover.“
“Chibiscus is one of my favorite ramen joints in all of LA because the quality and price can't be beat. Their Tonkotsu is so full of flavor! When ordering takeout, the broth comes separate from the bowl ingredients so you can pour over when you're ready. Even to-go it's some of the best flavor you can find with ramen. Ingredients taste fresh and filling always. Service is pretty on the ball considering ramen can take a bit to prepare. You could sub proteins and ingredients to tailor to your dietary needs which was nice! The inside is relatively small and it's in an unexpected random strip mall, but don't sleep on this one!“
“This spot nails it with awesome ramen and killer fried shrimp. The ramen’s got this tasty broth and noodles just right in texture, while the shrimp are all about that crunch with a juicy kick inside. It’s the kind of place you’d go for both the vibes and the eats, served up with a smile. Definitely a go-to for anyone looking to chow down on some real-deal flavors.“
“1st timer visiting the bestie. Was in need of some really good soup for losing my voice and found this gem!Since 1994 was all I kept seeing and let’s say that broth proved why they have been around for so long! DELICIOUS broth!GLUTEN FREE noodles - rice noodles. Ordered two different ramens gluten free to go and enjoyed a hot green tea while I waited.PARKING IS TERRIBLE - it’s a small lot and very hard to park but hopefully you find a spot. The ramen is worth it.Opens at 5pm - could get packed.“
“The staff is truly exceptional; even though I arrived roughly 20 minutes before closing, they processed my order and didn't pressure us to leave. They looked after my date and me. This is an excellent location to sample ramen. One of my favourite places is close by; I'd love to return! My mouth waters at the mere thought of it.“
“This place has become a Weho staple. I live down the street and am so happy they exist. The fried Brussel sprouts and spicy tuna over fried rice are a must. Service is super fast and friendly. If you’re looking for a bang for your buck sushi place in Weho, this is it!“
“I have been to Golden Gai in Shinjuku in Tokyo and let me tell you that the inside of this place is designed to look EXACTLY like an izakaya alley like that. So needless to say, the vibe is great. And thankfully they were playing j-pop too. But most importantly, the Ramen was totally on-point. Great broth, tender pork chashu, and fresh-tasting noodles. I also like the insulated steel mugs they served the beer in. Great place. A must-try in LA.“
“So, I was on the hunt for a spot in El Segundo that could dish out some authentic flavors and offer a great vibe for New Year's Eve. Lo and behold, Japonica came to the rescue. The parking situation? Surprisingly painless. Considering the holiday buzz, it was manageable - nothing compared to the Friday or Saturday night madness, I reckon. Now, let's talk eats. We kicked things off with the crispy rice, and let me tell you, it was genuinely crispy - almost like a high-end hashbrown. Then came the carpaccio trio - bluefin tuna with balsamic, yellowtail with garlic ponzu, and Scottish salmon with onion ginger dressing. Fresh and tasty, exactly as promised on the menu. The mix of flavors made the whole dining affair a delight. On to the rolls - Kyoto Kryptonite, Citrus Sakura, and White Lightning. My personal winner was the White Lightning, a sushi roll with garlic butter, a first for me. Seared albacore and tempura white fish - it was a flavor bomb. Kyoto Kryptonite appealed to my spice-loving side with its spicy tuna, and while Citrus Sakura brought some traditional vibes, it wasn't my top pick given the other vibrant choices. Now, about the joint itself - a medium-sized setup that handled the holiday crowd like a pro. The food took a tad longer to arrive than expected, and our waiter was on an apology spree. Lucky for us, we were deep in conversation, so time flew. But the waiter's vibe low-key hinted at placing an order sooner rather than later. An interesting note: Our dishes were delivered and checked on by different folks. I'm guessing the waitstaff doesn't claim specific tables, but hey, it worked smoothly. All in all, Japonica left me pretty darn satisfied. I'll happily roll back for another round. Cheers to good eats and a chill atmosphere!“
“Ambiance and service here were good. The food js also good. Although the ramen places at Sawtelle are much tastier, this place is still decent if you are craving for ramen and don’t want to make a long drive to Sawtelle. Although this place has a long waitlist, its still worth to give it a “
“Went on a Saturday mid afternoon for a late lunch. It was easy to park and I got the order right away. If you are looking for a great Tonkotsu Ramen or Poke bowl you are in the right place, it won't disappoint you. The bowl looked huge when it arrived, but 20 minutes later it was gone for good. The price is fair, great service and tasty food.“
“Great ramen! Pork broth was very porky and the cha shu was perfectly salty and sweet. The vegetable broth had a surprising amount of flavor. The noodles were bouncy and just the right thickness. Clean dining room. Cute set up. Will be returning!“
“We just learned about Sola a couple of months ago and we've gone five times already. The food is outstanding, the restaurant is nice, with a cool mellow vibe, and the owner is friendly and fun to talk to.I've tried almost everything on the menu by now, from the sizzling mushrooms to the grilled onigiri, to the special salad covered in fried onions. It has all been great.Try the grilled mackerel and mixed dumplings, too. Seriously, everything there is delicious.Fairly quiet, so it's a perfect place for a date or meet-up with friends. And there's free parking downstairs!“
“While the ramen is quite good, try their other non-ramen offerings. Katsu curry rice is very good here (katsu pork was prepared perfectly and curry flavorful) as well as their gyudon (beef over rice). Service as fast, friendly and attentive and the dining area was very clean. Value for the meal is excellent especially for West LA! Cannot recommend enough!“
“Welcome to the hidden gem of Japanese dining in Los Angeles. It's family owned and operated, has been open for decades and its master chef was trained in Kyoto. These chefs get top picks at the fish market and it shows. Iroha has a massive menu featuring many cooked dishes. There's something for everyone here--I'm looking at you, vegans :)“
“Possibly the best ramen in the area. Get the salt ramen. The soup has a deep richness with some hint of fermentation, possibly miso or mirin. The pork belly is tender and fresh. The toppings varied and were complimentary. Pricing is a great deal. Overall, such a hidden gem for the “
“I came here last Friday after my stepdaughter's dance performance. She was starving after a long grueling day of performing at her performing arts school. So we landed here at Tamashii Ramen House. This location in North Hollywood was the perfect medium from DTLA on the way to the valley. The street that it's on is very popping on weekend nights. We were happy to see that we got there just early enough to get a seat for a party of 3 without having to wait. The food was solid and the service was sincere. My favorite was the Spicy Miso Ramen Soup. This is a solid place that is reliable with good food.“
“I’ve been to Orochon, Daikokuya, Killer Noodle, many other Ramen spots in LA; Nishi is by far the best I’ve had! The broth is extremely flavorful and the Spicy Miso bowl has a great kick to it.Highly recommend, owner was trained by the HiroNori founders. Probably something there that has to do with it.“
“Went here for a graduation/mother's day celebration. Keep in mind they close mid day, 3-430 for the dinner rush at least they did on mother's day. The food here is spectacular, I'm vegan and they made me possibly the best dish I've ever had with eggplant, mushrooms and something else I can't recall but it was delicious. I also had the tempura veggies always good. We, myself, my son, his girlfriend and her dad, they had Sushi and ate so much. They brought us Saki that so good. The service was on point and then some! You won't be disappointed coming here!! This was my second time but others in my party come often!!Dietary restrictions: They do actually have vegan options if you just let them know & they'll give more than one choice and it's all good!!“
“I had the crispy nasu bun which was a great vegetarian option, soft bun with crispy eggplant inside. Took a long time for food to come out. Our waiter Adrian, however, was wonderful! He was very attentive and even went to his car to get birthday candles for my friend (to put on her dessert). Great experience overall!“
“My home city doesn't have an ippudo so everytime I go to a city with one I have to drop by. Thank you Yasu for preparing the ramen which tasted amazing as well as took time to explain his passion for ramen to me. Really cool learning about the history of ippudo and other ramen places as well. Take care and wish you the best ??“
“I got the Bold Ramen with pork & level 2 spicy which I should have gotten level 3 or 4 spicy but I added chili oil and it was good. The food was great but as many others have stated there's very little broth I wish the bowl was a bit bigger because after all the noodles and toppings there's maybe 12oz of broth. Other than that I really liked it and the service was good and seating available but I did go in at 1:30am so idk what it's like during busy hours. I'll definitely be back since I get off work late and they're open late..Parking: Location is in a plaza not sure what it's like when all the other businesses are open but it seems like it would be hard to find parking.Wheelchair accessibility: Location is on ground level no steps“
“Unassuming expensive Japanese restaurant there is plenty of unique and special sushi and cooked food to be found in their menu. Everything we ordered was fresh and good. We went past 1pm and when we entered there were one two other tables, but by the time we left past 2pm almost all the tables were taken. Service was consistent, not very friendly but efficient. Inside, it's actually very generic. Nothing much to the place, but it's quiet. They obviously spend their money on the food and not on the decor. The good thing is, they truly have some exceptional stuff - their ankimo is spectacular, I think it was the best we had. They are the only place I know in LA that has fish tempura. They have a hearty salmon skin salad and everything else we ordered was pretty good. Their fried Uni was bit too done but still good. All in all they truly have a vast selection even for vegetarians - we tried their "eggplant sushi" and it was very interesting. A bit too pricy for every day fare but good. There's a large parking lot at the back if you can't find street parking on Sepulveda.“
“Not fully Japanese kinda sushi spot, but been around for several decades. Solid. Sushi was good. Fresh, tasty. Hand rolled spicy tuna was just average. Best one in town is at Matsuhisha. Tempura was ok, best part is th fresh wasabi. Super tasty.“
“I ended up getting the Tonkotsu Ramen at level 2 spice and it was really delicious, the broth was very flavorful, chicken was delicious and I also got some California rolls which were pretty good. Funny side note, I think I was the only one there cause it’s that weird time between lunch and dinner so it was better for me lol but yes 5/5 definitely recommend this place if you are in the area.“
“Kai Ramen has been the go to spot since my bf and I relocated to Santa Monica. Sometimes we eat there, but usually we order out. We have found that we get the best results when we go to the place to order for take out and just wait for the food to be ready (rather than order online in advance). The food comes out hot and we're a short drive away so our food is never sitting out waiting for us to pick up. Another benefit from ordering at the place is when we would order for pick-up, if the food is sitting for some time, the meat and egg can continue to cook while inside the container and the meat would be more cooked than we liked. We've not had that issue since we changed our method. It could be a coincidence, but that hasn't been proven yet. We've tried various ramens on the menu, but my preference is the Classic while my bf tends to like the White Ramen with some spice. You get an egg with each one, but my bf doesn't eat them so I always get 2. The owners are always very nice and polite and the food usually doesn't take long to come out. We will definitely be back for more in the future I'm sure lol“
